Chapter Eleven-"Probably his dick"

Sean and I were the first of our ‘gang’ to arrive at the lake house. It was large, and that still didn’t describe its size. Two storeys tall, made with wood and looking as though it belonged in the middle of a fairy tale, the lake house was beautiful. All around were large trees and wild flowers, with a hint of dampness in the grass. My lips found themselves curving into a grin that I didn’t seem to have control over. So yeah, maybe I was a little excited for my proper first holiday.

Sean got out of the car, pulling me back to reality as I followed his lead and exited. I breathed in deeply, glad for some fresh air and no longer having to listen to any of Sean’s dirty jokes. Just thinking about them made my cheeks flame up in embarrassment. Sean Gregory was known for being a player and ultimate bad boy at Redwood High, but after the whole makeover thing, I found that he was actually nice deep down, well that was until that long ride from Redwood to here.

“Well Lanter, what do you think?” Sean asked, coming around to stand next to me.

I grinned up at him, “It’s really beautiful out here,” I began, “and so much fresher than Redwood’s boring old smell of berries,” I finished, wrinkling my nose in disgust.

Sean chuckled, “Come on then, want a private tour before everyone else gets here?”

“Sure,” I beamed, following him towards the large oak door.

Sean dug around in his back pocket before pulling out a large key, and slipped it into the door before unlocking it. I peeped inside, taking in the cosy looking furniture and fireplace at the far end of the room. Turning back to Sean, I realised that he was already walking straight in, glancing back at me as though he was expecting me to follow. Well obviously he wants you to follow him Viv; this is like a private tour! That’s what you’re supposed to do, follow the guide around while they explain what was what.

I blushed in embarrassment before I followed Sean into the lodge styled holiday home, taking in the different picture frames that were hanging on the walls. I took in the happy family smiling from the photos. A tall father, a petite mother and two kids; a girl who seemed to look like she would rather be in detention than the photo and a little dark haired boy who seemed oblivious to everything, except for smiling widely, revealing two missing teeth.

“Is that you?” I asked, staring closer at the photo.

Sean came to stand behind me, “Yeah that was our last vacation as a family.”

I frowned, “As a family?”

“You know,” Sean said, “before the divorce.”

“Oh,” I replied, feeling like an idiot, “I didn’t mean to-”

Sean shrugged, cutting my apology off, “Don’t sweat it Lanter, I’m over it.”

I nodded, even though it was clear that Sean wasn’t over the whole divorce thing. What type of woman was his mother anyway? Was she as nice as Lily? But if that was the case, I doubt she would have left her family just for some other man who she was in love with? But then maybe love did that to you, true love. Or maybe it was just menopause and she was having some midlife crisis thing that all old people went through? I sighed. God Viv, you’re hopeless at figuring people out.

“Come on,” Sean interrupted my thoughts, “we get first choice in rooms.”

I smiled, “How many rooms are there?”

“Oh,” Sean looked thoughtful, “probably about six or seven.”

My jaw dropped, “Why?”

“For parties obviously Lanter,” he answered with a smirk.

“Wait, I thought Lily was coming too?” I asked, confused slightly.

Sean chuckled, leading me to the second floor, “Please Lanter, Lil is more of a party animal than I am, so trust me,” he grinned, “she isn’t going to mind a party.”

I smiled nervously, swallowing, “Just how many people are coming?”

“Oh, just the regular gang,” Sean answered, “and then Lil will probably bring over some of her London friends,” he sneered.

“What’s wrong with her London friends?” I asked, following him down the hall and pass through some doors.

“Nothing at all,” he replied, “unless you like dumb girls who giggle to get in your pants or guys who think they’re the ‘IT’ thing because they can hold more than one bottle of vodka.”

I laughed slightly, “So in other words, party animals?”

Sean turned to me with a hint of amusement, “Exactly Lanter.”

“So uh…” I turned away, remembering that I was supposed to be dating Dave, not getting all buddy-buddy with Sean, “which room do I choose?”

Sean turned to face the two doors on the right hand side of the hall, “Well these two rooms are pretty much safe from the ghosts.”

My eyes widened, “G-Ghosts?”

“Relax Lanter,” he replied, smirking, “they’re not the dead kind.”

I frowned, still not understanding.

“You are innocent,” he commented, “but don’t worry you’ll understand tonight.”

“So there isn’t any g-ghosts r-right?” I stuttered.

“Not the dead kind,” Sean confirmed.

I nodded, breathing an inward sigh of relief. The last thing I would want is to get woken up by some slimy, white ghost. I shuddered at the thought, while I chose the door against the end of the hallway while Sean chose the one next to it. I entered the room, taking in the hotel appearance of it. Two large King sized beds, a huge wardrobe which could have been taken from Narnia and a white, thatch table with a mirror that seemed to blend into it.

Sean entered after me, “You’re sharing with Jules?”

I nodded, “Yeah.”

“Great, then let’s get everything unloaded and hit the lake!” he beamed.

The lake was surrounded by tall hills, with just one opening into the deeper section of it. The water was a slightly greenish-blue colour, with tiny fish swimming all around. I dipped my toe into it, sighing as Dave came to plonk down next to me. The rest of the group had arrived shortly after Sean and I, unpacking and getting changed into their swimsuits as quick as they could before we all headed out to the lake, which I will say again, was huge with fish in it.

“You okay?” Dave asked, smiling up at me, while his blue eyes lingered on mine.

“I’m great,” I replied with a smile.

Are you you’re great Viv? Let’s be honest, you were feeling fine around Sean, so why can’t you feel calm now around Dave? Butterflies, yeah, that’s what they are. It’s just the nervousness because you like Dave, you have to LIKE Dave, and he is your boyfriend after all. And seriously, Dave’s the total package. He has the great swimmer’s body and the smile that’s really sincere and let’s not forget that he thinks you’re cute. You, yes you Vivienne Lanter, are the girlfriend of Dave Peterson.

“That’s good,” Dave replied, taking hold of my hand, “we’re doing dives, you coming?”

I looked down at out entwined fingers, then nodded, “Yeah, uh…dives from where exactly?”

Dave turned to the large mountainous hill, where Chris and Sean were already standing on. I gulped, my face paling slightly. He didn’t mean from up there, could he? That was almost as high at the lake house! I began to panic, my heart rate picking up as we neared the hill, climbing up slowly before we reached the top. I glanced around, before following Dave, making sure that I wasn’t going to fall off any time soon.

“Viv,” Chris greeted me, slapping my back lightly, “you’re the only girl up here huh?”

“W-Where’s J-Jules?” I stammered, daring to glance at the shore of the lake.

“Right,” a voice panted, “here.”

Turning around, I spotted my redheaded friend who looked as though she had just run the marathon and lost. Her usual milky white skin looked flushed and her hair was sticking to her head. Throwing Chris a glare, she walked towards me, enveloping me in a huge hug, before gasping out as though she was dying from starvation and dehydration.

“Viv!” she complained, “My legs, my lungs! Mort!”

“Mort?” Chris asked in confusion.

“Dead,” I translated.

“Well it’s not my fault you chose to take the long way up!” Chris retorted.

“Okay, okay,” Sean interrupted, “can we just get to the diving already?”

Chris grinned, “After you Jules.”

“Excusez-moi!?” Jules exclaimed, but before she could protest, Chris had grabbed her by the waist, hoisting her over his shoulder before jumping, followed by a loud scream and then a splash.

Ignoring my fear for heights, I made my way to the edge and peered over, taking in both Chris and Juliet who swam to the surface, soaked and half-yelling, half-laughing at each other. Dave was next to go, saying that he wanted to practice some new dive for swimming trials soon. Standing next to Sean, we watched Dave run from where he stood before leaping up into the air and doing two somersaults, then diving headfast into the water with a splash. He came up for air, and I watched as how Amanda grinned from the shore with this sort of awed look.

“Well Lanter, it looks like it’s just you and me,” Sean murmured.

I swallowed a scream, “Aha…just us…and the lake…dive…”

Sean frowned, “It’s just a silly dive,” he said, “nothing as fancy as Davey did.”

I glanced up, my eyes going wide slightly, “I…I don’t know…maybe…”

“Chill Lanter,” Sean replied, taking hold of my sweaty palm in his, “we’ll go together if it makes you feel better?”

I smiled in gratitude, “Really?”

“Sure,” he answered, “so come on.”

I nodded, following Sean towards the edge and placed my hands in his. My eyes seemed to have a mind of their own as they scanned down Sean’s well-defined muscles. He really is a Sex God Viv, just look at his abs that is clearly sculpted for staring at. I sighed, why do boys have to be so good to look at? I forced my gaze up into Sean’s deep hazel eyes that reminded me of warm honey, instantly feeling my body relax and a sense of calm take over.

Sean’s arms suddenly wrapped around me, causing my eyes to widen.

“So we don’t let go when we jump,” Sean explained when he saw my expression.

I nodded, except this time my heart felt like it was on overdrive, only it wasn’t from the fact that I was about to jump off a cliff into a lake.

“On the count of three?” Sean asked.

I merely nodded.

“One…two…three!”

Pushing off of the cliff, I found my arms gripping around Sean’s neck as we dove into the lake. God, I really didn’t want to die. I shut my eyes, feeling a whoosh of air flying past my face, causing my hair to explode across my face, whipping at my skin before the cold, icy splash of water came into contact with my body. I let go then of Sean, swimming to the surface of the lake, and wiping at my eyes.

Sean emerged in front of me with a wide grin, “That was frigging awesome!”

I nodded, still feeling my heart racing.

“Wanna go again?” Sean asked.

Before I could reply, Dave swam towards me, “Hey Viv, there’s something I want to show you.”

“Probably his dick,” Sean coughed into his hand, but it was clear that Dave hadn’t heard, and neither had anyone else.

I turned to Sean, “Maybe later okay?”

He shrugged, but I caught the look of hurt that flashed through his eyes, “Whatever.”

I watched as Sean swan towards the shore before grabbing Amanda and dragged her up with him to the top of the cliff. I shook away the uneasy feeling that was growing in the pit of my stomach and turned to Dave, placing a warm smile onto my lips. His hair looked brown now that it was wet, his bright blue eyes glowing with exhilaration from the dive and his swimmer’s body was well, on full display for anyone to look. He’s Dave; I reminded myself, good old Dave who won’t let you down.

“So uh…” I trailed off, “what did you want to show me?”

“Oh yeah,” he answered with a grin, “come on.”

I followed him, as we swam further into the lake. I took in the different trees and low lying branches above the surface, with small caves at the base. The sun was in the middle of the sky, casting a warm summer glow to the lake. Shades of deep greens and pale gold from the caves shimmered in the water’s reflection. Suddenly, Dave came to stop at a fairly large cave, before pulling me up next to him inside it.

“This is gorgeous huh?” he asked, smiling at the lake.

“It is,” I agreed, leaning down to brush the water’s edge.

“There’s something I wanted to give you,” Dave began, “but we’ve been with everyone else around and it just didn’t feel right.”

I turned to him with a genuine smile, “A gift for me?”

He nodded, leaning closer, his face inches from mine. I gulped.

“Close your eyes,” he murmured, his lips getting closer.

I obeyed. It wasn’t a surprise when I felt Dave’s lips crashing down onto mine with more force than I had anticipated. Instantly my arms wrapped around his neck, I leaned closer and waited for the jolts of electricity to run down my spine. I felt Dave’s tongue flick over lips, causing them to part and allow him to enter. Our tongues met, and almost in synch, our mouths began to move together. Dave pressed his hard body against mine, as he deepened the kiss and caused my breath to come out in a gasp.

His hands slowly trailed down my back, creating a feeling of euphoria to spread through my body, but still there were no fireworks. I pulled away, taking time to catch my breath, but that didn’t stop Dave from moving his mouth over my neck and slowly placing tiny kisses along my jawline and over my face. I sucked in a breath, as his warm breath fanned next to my ear, before his tongue seemed to do this weird thing to it, making every thought in my mind to disappear. I arched my neck, wanting more when a girly voice interrupted.

“Oh my God,” Amanda squealed, covering her eyes, “I’m so sorry.”

Dave and I pulled apart instantly. A slow blush took over my cheeks, but I was pretty sure that it was redder than that due to the make-out session I had just shared with Dave. I stole a glance in his direction, but he was just smiling, his gaze trained on Amanda. I swallowed a pang of jealousy, staring as Dave slipped back into the lake, helping me down before turning his attention to Amanda.

“Don’t worry,” Dave replied, “I mean, it was bound to happen sooner or later that Viv and I got caught.”

Amanda smiled, “Well I didn’t want to say anything, but you two really should get a room.”

We did! We went into a cave and then you came along!

“Weren’t you diving?” I asked, a little too coldly.

Amanda looked shocked before smiling, “Oh yeah…but then I wanted Davey to teach me to do his dive thing.”

“Oh sure,” Dave answered, “Viv, do you want to learn too?”

I glanced at Dave, then at Amanda.

“No thanks,” I replied with a forced smile, “I think I might take a break.”

Dave nodded, before swimming off with Amanda.

Okay Viv, you may not know a lot about relationships and kissing and boyfriends, but you definitely know flirting when you see it. Amanda is so flirting with Dave right now, and what do you do? Yes, that’s right, like always you just let the prettier, skinnier girl take your boyfriend away.

A/N So! What did you guys think about my chapter? Boring eh? Yeah, I thought so too, but don't worry, next chapter things are going to get steamy! Tell me what you Geeklings think about Sean, Dave and Amanda? Is she really as two-faced as Viv feels or is she just being friendly? Does Dave deserve to have his balls chopped off for being so insensitive to Viv? I love to know! PS: This so doesn't relate to the story, well it does sort of, but I'm getting glasses and have taken the task on becoming a nerd, which is really ironinc what with me writing this story, but hey, it's for school and I so want to get my grades up...but glasses and me...sigh
