This time tomorrow

Year 845, Paradis.

That day was what Levi believed the moment he'll regret the most. The day he finally realized he fell for Shizue Yamada.

He tried everything in his power to convince himself that it was nothing. They were soldiers, she was his subordinate. This cannot go any further.

But boy, she does make it very challenging.

"Captain?" Levi was brought back to his senses as he heard that voice. His gaze went towards the strawberry blonde female that just walked into his office with a few paperwork in hand.

"I hope you don't mind I let myself in, Commander Erwin said this is urgent." Shizue spoke and handed him a file to which he acknowledged. She also placed a cup of earl grey tea on the side of his table.

Levi felt a warm feeling surrounding his chest, but what came out of his mouth was...

"What the hell is this?"

Shizue innocently shrugged. "I thought you'd stay up late again so I made you tea."

Levi, saw this as a bad thing. First of all, Shizue makes the best tea. Second, this just proves how well she knows him. And third, he felt good knowing all that which means he really does love her.

"Do you want me to help you with these?" She asked, pointing at the stack of paperwork on the other side of his desk, making Levi clench his hand underneath the table.

"I can handle it. And next time, do not come inside my office as you please." Levi spoke coldly. Shizue looks down, slightly feeling guilt. She knew how much Levi values his privacy, but the only reason why she went in was because no one was answering as she knocked. And Levi was too occupied by his thoughts to hear anything.

"Right. Sorry Captain." The girl apologized. Levi just handed her the folder Erwin asked for and got back to his work, not even acknowledging the cup of tea that was given to him, or even the person he was just talking to.

Shizue took one last glance at the ravenette before taking her leave.

The days had gone by, it was evident how the Captain was avoiding his right-hand woman. Be it at the cafeteria or even after the squad meetings.

But it never stopped Shizue from leaving a cup of tea on Levi's office table every single night, and she did that with a big smile on her face. One day, the strawberry-blonde woman was retrieving a file from her captain's office with his permission of course, and saw a familiar mug from last night on his table. The tea had already gotten cold, untouched.

It's been a few months after the battle between heaven and earth took place.

On the ship returning to Paradis Island, the rest of the remaining soldiers, or heroes as the others call them were all gathered in one place. Jean was fixing his hair, and Reiner was sniffing historia's letter.

"Would you stop fantasizing over a married woman?" Jean gave him a disgusted look. The blonde didn't even budge.

"You say that but you're the one who's clearly worried about your looks. Who do you want to impress?" Pieck says with a mocking tone.

"The school girls who read the history books."

"Don't you mean picture book for horses?"

"WHY YOU--"

"you guys." Annie called that halted them from the pointless bickering. "We're almost at the island."

The rest of them looks at each other with a knowing look, at went out where they could see the familiar land beneath the cloudy mist. Everything seemed like a dream, that for once,

Humanity achieved true freedom. And it was all because of him, and the comrades they have lost.

The wind blew harshly that made Levi tighten his grip against the piece of old paper he held. He looked down, seeing a very distinct portrait of her illustrated in black ink. It captured every detail of her face, how her eyes gleam, her enchanting smile. A sting tugged against his chest as the last memory of her flashed within his eyes.

His gaze went towards the ocean, "I'm almost home, Shizue. Wait for me,"

Levi had his day all planned out. After meeting with the council, he'll go to the flower store and buy her favorite black roses along with a slice of cake sold in a bakery near the headquarters. And finally, go to the cemetery and visit her. He just couldn't wait to tell her everything but, he thinks she already knows.

Shizue appears in front of his eyes, it was hazy but Levi immediately knew the person. There she was with the smile he always adored. A single tear rolled down his cheek as she and the rest of the fallen soldiers saluted to him.

The man heard footsteps, approaching him from behind. He glanced to his side where a ravenette girl stood. But same as him, Mikasa's eyes also went to the ocean. "You miss her, don't you?"

The captain folds the portrait and kept it in his coat's pocket. "Ofcourse."

"I can say the same thing about you." A large bird with pure white feathers flew above the ship and soared through the sky.

Mikasa smiled. "I'd like to believe they're in a good place right now. Somewhere peaceful and free from all the trouble in the world,"

He wished everything she said was true. Shizue deserve all of it, after everything that happened.

Jean and the others has all gotten out only to see the captain who was already there sitting alone gazing at the sea in peace. A harsh wind blew past them that made Mikasa snuggle closer to her scarf.

"Is it just me....or the mist kept getting thicker and thicker?" Pieck noticed as soon as the island that was supposed to be getting closer, was becoming even more of a blur.

It wasn't supposed to be like that, it was normal to have mist but not like this considering they were close to land.

"Damn it's cold!" Connie shivered and tries to find warmth from Jean who smacked him away.

"Are we sure were going to the right direction?" Armin questioned.

The others were in a state of confusion, and they couldn't find a clear answer. Paradis Island that seemed to be near was no longer within their sight.

"This doesn't seem right." Levi spoke as his vision was clouded. Annie stepped back as slowly the ship was swallowed by the thick cloud of mist.

"What the hell is happening?!"

"Stop yelling at my ear!"

"It's so damn cold! Mikasa hold me!"

"Jean. I will push you off the ship."

"Wha-sorry Annie!!"

The whole ship was swallowed by the mist, the temperature went dangerously low, and the soldiers weren't able to see anything to find out what the hell just happened. That was until a loud crash was hear and they all stumbled towards each other as if the ship just hit a large rock, but in this case, it was land.

"The mist is clearing.." Levi said observing his surroundings.

"I think we're already here." Reiner says as he went down to open the door but was halted when he noticed not one of them had moved.

"You guys...?" He noticed the dread in Armin's tone, he never heard him like this before unlike back then when they were still at war.

"What the hell." Reiner's eyes widened as their jaws dropped at the scene. The once paradis island they saw earlier was no more, and the only thing before their eyes, was a city built with high infrastructures and skyscrapers.

They couldn't believe what just happened, they didn't know where they were or how they even got here, and why?

Just then, a certain white haired man felt a unique and foreign presence while buying mochi on his favorite shop near the coast area.
