Chapter 849 Olivia patted her on the back. âSilly girl, how are you alone? Your parents, Ken, and I are here for you.â
âBut my brother...â
Olivia did not know whether to tell her about Ken avenging her.
She eventually fell silent momentarily and only said, âKenâs only pretending to be unconcerned. He cares about you. Maybe he doesnât know how to face you.â
âIs that so?â
âYeah, it must be.â
Olivia helped Kate wipe away her tears and asked, âKate, have you... have you thought about telling him sometime?â
Kate paused and quickly shook her head. âNo, no, donât tell him. Heâll only avoid me more if he finds out.â
âYouâre a patient. Iâm not supposed to tell you this, but...â
Olivia had mixed emotions. Many emotions crowded her chest, making her feel like she was going to explode.
âThe doctor said you suffered internal injuries and wasnât sure if you had any other problems. Iâm only afraid youâll never be able to tell him the truth in the future.â
âIs my illness... that serious?â
Olivia shook her head. âDonât entertain foolish ideas. I only said that because I donât want you to have regrets...â
With that said, she bit her lip. âItâs all my fault. Why did I talk nonsense?
How could you be in trouble? Youâd better take your time and think it over. Iâll get you some hot water to wash your face so you can have breakfast comfortably.â
Olivia wanted to slap herself after running into the bathroom.
âWhat the h*ll did I say?
âHow could I talk to a patient like that? What if Kate thinks sheâs dying?â
It was taboo for a patientâs mentality to be negative.
I'm really...â
She must have had a lot on her mind lately that she was confused.
Almost three or four days after the auction, Olivia saw Milo again, and it was in Kateâs room at the hospital.
She went out to get some hot water and returned to see Milo standing by the bed in a black suit talking to Kate.
âPhoebe, thereâs somebody here to see you.â
Kate happened to see her and quickly waved to her.
For some reason, seeing Milo here made Olivia feel uncomfortable, even repulsed.
âSir, what are you doing here?â
Milo looked up at her and smiled. âYou said your friend was hospitalized last time, so I brought a fruit basket over to see you two.â
âSee me? What happened?â
âCanât I just talk to you and grab some coffee?â
Olivia smiled half-heartedly. âSure, but Iâm not used to your sudden enthusiasm, Sir.â
Milo raised his eyebrows and said, âIt seems you have a problem with me.â
âNo, I donât.â
Olivia put the flask down and quickly waved her hand. âSir, you misunderstand me. I only think youâre not your usual self, so Iâm... not so used to it.â
âNow that weâve met, itâs natural to have a different style. If you donât like it, we can return to the way it used to be.â
âThatâs unnecessary. But will you wait for me outside, Sir? Iâll talk to my friend alone and come out to see you.â
âSure, no problem.â
Milo nodded to Kate. âGoodbye, Ms. Lucas.â
âGoodbye.â
Once Milo left, Olivia hurried up to Kate and whispered, âWhat did he come to talk to you about?â
âNothing much. Just where youâve gone. Then he asked how Iâm doing and so on. Whatâs come over you?â
When Kate took her hand, she noticed it was shaking and was confused. â Whatâs your relationship? Why is your hand shaking so much?â
Olivia shook her head. âItâs okay. Iâll be back in a minute. Call me if you need anything.â
âOh.â
Olivia knew something was wrong.
Why did Mr. Mâs elegance and gentleness disappear after they met? Instead, it was oppressive.
