Chapter 710 âKnow me? How?â
âWhen they called me, the person said that if I donât have the money, I can get it from my friend Phoebe. Isnât she Mrs. Quinton?â
Olivia was shocked. She then lowered her head to look at Zac. They knew this was not as simple as it seemed.
âMrs. Simmons, take Ms. Sutherland to have a shower and change out of her clothes.â
âYes, Miss.â
âPheebs, are you not willing to help me...â
âTen million is not a small amount, so I need to talk to Zac about this. Go take a shower. Weâll tell you after we talk about it, okay?â
Jennie was a little worried. âPheebs, are you not mad at me?â
Olivia did not answer. âDo you have a photo of that man?â
âYeah. Iâll send it to you.â
âOkay.â
Olivie pushed Zac past Jennie and then said to Mrs. Simmons softly, âTake care of her for me.â
Then, she pushed Zac to the second floor.
Once they reached the study, Olivia sat on the sofa. She felt like her brain was a mess.
Even if Jennie betrayed her, this blackmail was clearly targeted at her.
She kept feeling like she had harmed Jennie, so she blamed herself a little.
âLiv, I wonât allow you to blame yourself.â
Olivia lifted her head to look at Zac. Then, she pursed her lips and did not say anything.
âRemember, the people who betrayed you are not worthy of your pity. Dorothy almost killed you and Ian yesterday. If John didnât show up in time, what do you think would have happened?
âShe betrayed you and now sheâs back and apologizing because she needs your help. Do you think itâs worth blaming yourself for someone like this?â
âOf course, I know itâs not. However, these other people seem to be coming for me.â
âYou dummy.â
Zac patted her forehead. âThink about it. How many enemies do you have in Ocean City?â
Olivia was slightly stunned. Then, she pondered with a frown. âI think thereâs only Dorothy.â
âSee? Sheâs on the same team as Dorothy, so she might be helping Dorothy harm you again. Especially when she said she needs to hand the ransom in person. Have you seen blackmail like this before?â
Olivia blinked. âAre you saying we shouldnât help her?â
âWill you not help her just because I said so?â
Olivia lowered her head, not daring to look at him.
Zac was too smart, and he completely saw through her.
âIf I donât allow you to help her, you will surely do it behind my back. If something happens, Iâm afraid I wonât be there in time to save you.â
Zac turned his wheelchair to open the safe. Then, he took out a bank card and handed it to her. âHereâs five million. The bank card doesnât belong to me, so I can sponsor this five million. Tell her to come up with something to make up for the rest.â
âThis is not enough.
âI already gifted her millions last time when you bought the atelier. How does she have the cheek to still ask you for money?â
Zac turned on his computer and looked through his records. âLook, she sold her house for eight million, and she also sold yours.â
Olivia was stunned. âShe told me last night she didnât sell mine.â
âShe did. Itâs sold to someone named Mr. M.â
âMr. M Olivia finally understood. Jennie lied to her saying she did not sell it but she did.
However, the fortunate thing was that the buyer was Mr. M, so she could still think of a way to ask for it back.
However, after learning about this, Oliviaâs patience had reached its limit.
She could forgive Jennie for lying to her once.
However, she kept lying to and betraying Olivia. In addition, she even made something up to get Oliviaâs money. She could not tolerate this.
It would be unfair to Zac if she kept tolerating Jennie.
This way, she would owe Zac too much.
âDonât think too much about this money. Itâs not mine, so you donât have to care about it.â
Iâm sorry, Zac. You wasted so much money because of me.â
âYou dummy.â Zac caressed her head. âWeâre husband and wife, so the money belongs to US both. Donât think so much. Give her the money, and thatâs the end of it. Break all ties with her after that.â
