Chapter 589 The next afternoon, Ken came to the apartment looking for Olivia.
âLiv, I found out some things about what you asked me to look into. It does seem to have something to do with the Jameson family.â
Ken changed his shoes and walked away, saying, âIt looks like the Quinton family and the Jameson family had an engagement earlier. It was brought up again recently. Perhaps...â
However, he noticed something wrong with Oliviaâs expression before he could finish.
In particular, the look in his eyes was somewhat... cold.
âLiv, whatâs wrong?â
Kenâs first reaction was that something had happened to him, but he had no idea what it could be.
Olivia pointed to the couch opposite her. âSit.â
The more serious she was, the more she made Ken nervous.
After sitting down, he asked cautiously, âWhat on earth happened?â
Olivia put down her glass, gazed up at him, and said, âKen, since when did you have a fiancée?â
âA fiancée?â
Ken froze for a long time.
He pointed at himself. âMe? I have a fiancée?â
With that said, he blinked innocently, confused. âWerenât we just talking about Zac? How is this about me?â
âAnswer me.â
Oliviaâs tone was cold. She did not seem to be joking.
It made Ken gulp. âI donât.â
âWhat about four years ago?
âFour years ago?â Ken found it increasingly unbelievable. âI never got engaged. Although my dad tried to get me to marry, I said no. Iâve only loved Zyla my whole life. How could I be engaged to someone else?â
âYouâre not lying?â
âNo.â
âDo you swear?â
Ken raised his hand and began to swear. âI, Ken Lucas, hereby swear that I will die a horrible death if I ever was or would get engaged to someone else!â
Olivia looked at him carefully again.
After making sure he was not lying, Olivia let out a sigh of relief and softened her tone. âLet me get you a cup of coffee.â
Still in shock, Ken thought Olivia was up to something and hurriedly stopped her.
âNo, no. Iâll do it myself.â
Olivia could not help smiling. âDonât worry. I wonât poison you.â
Ken.â *
He panicked even more. Was she planning to poison him?
âKen, Iâm sorry I confronted you like that.â
Olivia brought him coffee and explained, âI went to the cemetery yesterday and met a woman in front of Zylaâs grave.â
âAnd?â
âShe said sheâs your fiancée.â Olivia sipped a mouthful of coffee and looked up at him. âShe also said Zyla was a homewrecker, and she ruined your relationship.â
âWhat?â
Ken nearly spat out his coffee. âWho is it? Who is she?â
âHow would I know? I asked her who she is, and she only said sheâs your fiancée. So I came to ask. you.â
Olivia sighed. âYou should know that Zyla has been dead for four years. And she died pregnant. with your child. She died unjustly. I donât want her to be slandered or insulted. Got it?â
âShe insulted Zyla?â
âYes.â
âWhat are her features?â
Olivia reflected. âLong curly hair, red dress, and sunglasses. Nothing else.â
Ken pondered for a long time, but he could not think of anyone.
âDonât worry. Iâll get to the bottom of it. I wonât allow Zyla to be insulted.â
Olivia stopped pursuing it any further after getting an answer. She changed the topic and asked, Did you just say that the Quinton family and the Jameson familyâs marriage was brought up again?â
âYeah, thatâs right. It was mentioned four years ago, but Dorothy refused at that time. For some reason, Dorothy didnât seem to refuse anymore.â
