Chapter 239 âMr. Freeman, keep an eye on your wife since youâre here. I donât think youâll look too good if thereâs another scandal like two years ago.â
The Jameson family was scared of John, but Mrs. Jameson did not back down for the sake of her daughter.
âReally? My wife was set up two years ago. Donât you know that, Mrs. Jameson?â
With that said, John sneered. âBesides, Zacâs my friend. Shouldnât he be nice to my wife?â
Hearing this, Olivia froze and looked up at John in shock.
Did he do it for himself, or did he believe what she was saying?
Olivia had to admit that her heart was beating so fast she could barely contain the smile.
It was the first time in two years that he had said he trusted her.
Would it not be great if it were true?
âMom, Mr. Freeman is right. Zac and Mr. Freeman are close. Itâs natural that theyâre close.â
Rainie tried to persuade Mrs. Jameson, but she looked at Olivia with a hint of disdain.
Olivia saw it and remembered it.
It seemed that the woman and Dorothy were the same, so she should be careful.
Mrs. Jameson snorted coldly. âIt better be!â
She glared at Olivia before leaving with Rainie.
As soon as the Jameson family left, Olivia heard John whisper, âOlivia, stay away from Zac. If you get in the news again, even I canât defend you.â
With that said, John let go of her waist to leave.
Suddenly, Olivia grabbed his arm, while her eyes went red instantly. âJohn, donât you believe me?â
John glanced coldly at her and sneered. âOlivia, the best thing about you is that you will even lie to yourself.
Oliviaâs mind buzzed instantly.
He did not believe her.
He had only said that for the outsidersâ benefit. He had never believed her.
He did not believe Olivia was innocent, even though it was confirmed that Dorothy had killed someone.
Olivia suddenly let go of her grip with a forced smile. âYeah, got it.â
She was overthinking.
The tearing pain in her heart made her almost lose her footing.
Fortunately, someone was behind her to catch her, which brought her back to her senses.
âJohn, donât go too far.â
Olivia looked up to see Zac and pushed him away while she steadied herself.
She did not want Uncle Wallaceâs funeral to be a farce.
Uncle Wallaceâs life had been sad. He even died without a complete body. If the funeral was ruined again, she would hate herself for the rest of her life.
John looked at the two, his face solemn and horrifying. âYouâd better control your fiancée. Be careful that sheâll come out and trouble others.â
He never liked women like Rainie.
Seeing they were about to start an argument, Olivia said, âItâs Uncle Wallaceâs funeral today. If anything, why not wait until after the funeral? Okay?â
With that said, she looked at them with a touch of supplication.
Zac nodded. âOkay, got it.â
John sneered, said nothing, and turned away.
Zac looked down and whispered, âThe carâs all set. Where do you want to send Zyla to?â.
Olivia tilted her head to look at the busy Zyla nearby. She pressed her lips together and said, âZac, Iâm wondering if you can drug Zy with some anesthetic? Iâm afraid she refuses to leave when she wakes up. Can we send her abroad?â
Zac froze for a moment, not expecting her to be determined to send Zyla away.
âYes. I have a plane.â
With that said, he asked again, âLiv, are you sure you want to send her away? I have a feeling she came to repay you.â
