Chapter 206 âFiance?â
Olivia was slightly taken aback. She had never heard about Zac having a fiance, so she was a little surprised for a while.
âYouâre Mr. Quintonâs fiance?â
âYeah. Didnât Zac tell you?â
Olivia shook her head. âSorry. I donât ask about Mr. Quintonâs personal affairs.â
This was true.
She and Zac only met because of John, and they would only look into cases when they were together.
However, she could see a hostility in Rainieâs eyes, the kind of hostility that women had toward a rival in love.
She smiled. âMs. Jameson, thereâs nothing going on between Mr. Quinton and me, so donât listen to those reports.â
Upon hearing that, Rainie smiled lightly and took Oliviaâs hand. âMrs. Freeman, I never doubted you. Donât be so nervous.
Additionally, youâre married, so of course thereâs nothing going on between you and Zac.â
After that, Rainie sighed. âBut we have met before. You invited me to your eighteenth birthday. Have you forgotten?â
Olivia felt like the name Rainie Jameson was familiar.
After all, the Jameson family had some status in Ocean City, but this personâs appearance did not ring a bell in Oliviaâs head.
âSorry. Iâll remember you the next time.â
âZac and Mr. Freeman have such a good relationship, so weâll definitely have more chances to meet in the future. By then, Iâll be around you so much that you will definitely remember me.â
Olivia pursed her lips and nodded awkwardly. âI remember now.â
âSure. Iâll leave first as I still have some things to take care of. Weâll talk again after youâre discharged from the hospital.â
âAlright.â
2/3 After Rainie left, Olivia hesitated at the door for a while. In the end, she decided not to go in.
She could leave no room for a scandal. She did not want things to get complicated.
It seemed she would have to keep her distance from Zac in the future.
A womanâs intuition was very accurate. She could sense that even though Rainie looked friendly, she was not that way on the inside.
When Olivia went back to her ward, she texted Zac.
[Mr. Quinton, you donât have to blame yourself for Cole. Itâs my fault. As for defending me, Iâll find another lawyer. You donât need to worry about this anymore.]
After she sent the text, Olivia received a call from Dorothy.
Olivia frowned and answered in irritation.
âOlivia, do you think you can convict me just because you caught Cole? Stop dreaming! Johnny wonât believe you.â
Of course Dorothy had gotten wind of this. It seemed that everything was pointing to disaster for Cole.
âAre you done?â
Dorothy sneered when she heard Olivia not giving her a reaction. âDonât you want to know how Cole got away from Zac?â
She wanted to, but she did not want to find out from Dorothy.
âNo. Iâll go to you once the divorce agreement is ready. Stop pestering me now.â
âHeh, Olivia, youâre so impatient.â Dorothy scoffed. âRainie and I are good friends, so how would she not know whatâs going on with Zac?â
âRainie?â
Olivia bit her lip, feeling a little suspicious.
After all, Rainie was Zacâs fiance, and she was related to Dorothy, so it was not entirely impossible for her to have let Cole go.
However, she did not have the patience to listen to Dorothyâs nonsense, so she hung up the phone.
After a while, John called her.
Olivia declined without even thinking.
However, John did not give up. He only stopped after he made several more calls.
Olivia put her phone on one side and sighed. She had mixed feelings.
When did she start feeling scared to interact with John?
Now, she just felt glad he had only called her. If he came to see her in person, she might have panicked even more.
