Chapter 14: Shopping

Adora's pov

I pulled into a parking space and turned the car off after putting it in park. Glimmer practically teleported out of the car because she was already at the entrance by the time me, Bow, and Catra got out of the car. Bow ran to catch up with her while Catra stayed by me. I started walking but Catra didn't move. "Coming?" I asked her. Her head shot up and she said " Yeah i'm coming dummy I wouldn't have sat in that car for 30 minutes if I wasn't going to." She started to walk and I waited for her to catch up before continuing to walk with her. "So Bow and Glimmer invited you?" I asked her. "Yeah Bow said he wanted me to come to this smoothie shop for some reason." Catra said not looking at me. "Can I see the chat?" I asked her. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and logged into it. She then handed me the phone and I started reading the chat.

Bow: Hey are you awake?

Catra: I am now thanks Crop top

Glimmer: Good because we need you for something

Catra:???

Bow: I think what she meant to say is can you join us later?

Catra: Sure where and when?

Bow: Swiftwinds smoothies at 8:10

Catra: Okay I'll be there

Glimmer: Great see you soon and we'll tell Adora ;)

Catra: Okay?

Bow: See you soon

Catra: K bye

I finished reading and handed Catra's phone back to her. "So why did you want to see that?" Catra asked me. "Oh no reason." I said. "Adora you are a terrible liar. Now let's get out of the middle of the road while you tell me the truth." She said while pointing to where Bow and Glimmer were standing. "Yeah okay." I said as I started walking again. Catra followed suit and I told her "I asked to see those texts because I had no idea you were coming.". "So Sparkles lied?" She asked. I nodded my head and she said "I am beginning to like her more and more." I felt weird like i was jealous of Glimmer. But why she is with Bow. Wait she is with Bow so if that is Catra's crush then she couldn't be with her. "You do know she is with Bow right?" "yeah I know dummy". "Okay just wanted to make sure that you weren't trying to get with Glimmer" I said. "What? Ew why would I ever date her?". "HEY" Glimmer yelled. Me and Catra looked up to see that we were at the entrance of the mall where Glimmer and Bow were. "WHAT IS SO DISGUSTING ABOUT ME THAT YOU WOULDN'T EVEN DATE ME!" Glimmer yelled at Catra. "I didn't say that there was anything disgusting about you, it's just I have a crush and you're not my type." Catra said. "Well then what is your type?" Glimmer asked her, smiling while looking at me and winking. "Well I guess someone who is nice, who makes me laugh, who makes me happy, but most importantly someone who accepts me for me and doesn't judge me because I am different." I was looking at Catra the whole time and the whole time she was smiling and looked like she was thinking of a special someone. Of her crush. I wish it was me that she was thinking of but it's not. Bow started crying and said "That was s-so beautiful" and Glimmer said "Oh wow I didn't think it would be that deep". I just stood there and looked at her before saying "Well you deserve someone who treats you like that. You deserve someone who makes you happy Catra." Everyone was looking at me. Bow was crying even more. Glimmer was looking at me shocked. Catra had the softest smile on her face and said "thanks Adora. You deserve someone who makes you happy too". You make me happy so do I deserve you. "I'm not sure about that but thank you anyways." I said to which she got kinda defensive and said "You're not sure about that? Adora you are the kindest, sweetest, most caring person I have ever met. If the person you like doesn't make you happy or fulfill your expectations then they don't deserve you." I smiled and said "You really think that". She nodded her head and said "Yeah." "Thanks". "I know this is touching and all but can we go shopping now?" Glimmer asked. "Yeah I mean that's what we're here for right?" Catra said. "Yeah lets go" I said and went inside with Catra, Bow, and Glimmer following suit.

Catra's pov

We walked into the mall and it was filled with people. Too many people in my opinion. Sparkles practically dragged us all to journeys. Everything was so bright and girly.. "Yeah I am not getting anything here Sparkles" I told her. "Yeah I figured as much but me Bow and Adora will be right guys." She said. "Actually I wanted to see where Catra shops first" Bow said and I smirked at Sparkles. "Well I still have Adora right?" She asked Adora. "A-actually i'm with Bow on this one," Adora said, causing me to smile. Sparkles groaned and I said. "Perfect I guess we are going to Hot Topic after this". "Yeah I guess" Sparkles said. After about 30 minutes sparkles got a pair of pink and black vans and a pink cropped champions hoodie. She paid and came over to where Bow, Adora, and I were sitting. "Alright let's go to Catra's store". We all stood up and I started running to where the Hot Topic was. I had been to the Hot Topic here so many times that I knew where it was by heart. I could hear the three of them behind me but I didn't care because I had to get to my store. I stopped in front of a black painted front with two big windows showing some of their merch and a sign in illuminated black letters that spelled HOT TOPIC out in all caps. Soon Adora, Crop top and Sparkles caught up. "What the heck Catra" Sparkles said in between breaths. "Yeah why did you take off" Crop Top asked me a little out of breath but he wasn't holding his knees and bent over like Sparkles was. "I guess I just got a little excited," I said, rubbing the back of my neck nervously. Adora started laughing. Her laugh is beautiful. It is the most heartwarming thing I have ever heard. "You got that excited over a store? I am expecting this to be great" Adora said, her laughter dieing down. "Oh don't worry it is" I said making my way into the store. I immediately ran towards the shirts and looked around for a little bit. I found two shirts that I really liked and grabbed them for Sparkles to buy.

This is what Catra got.

I walked over to where Crop top was and saw he was carrying something. "Hey whatcha got there?" I asked him. He turned to look at me and said "Oh this." He showed me a black crop top that had all the mickey mouse people on it. "Oh nice?" I said as more of a question. "Yeah it is," He said hugging it. "Well I'm going to go find Adora" I told him. "Okay I'm going to find Glimmer" He said and we went our separate ways. I looked for Adora and I found her near the back of the store. I went up to her and asked "Find anything?" She turned around and said "Yeah I found this" She held out a red plaid flannel. "Oh well it's red so I guess it would look really good on you" I told her. "Really I was thinking about putting it back". "You should get it. It would go great with one of your white shirts" I told her. "Thanks. Hey have you seen Glimmer?" She asked me. I shook my head and said "We can look for her though". She nodded her head and we walked around looking for Sparkles. When we found her she was with Crop top. "So find anything Sparkles?" I asked. She turned around and said "Yes actually I did" She held out a Crop top that said "Once upon a time I didn't care. I still don't. The end." I laughed at this. "Okay since we all have something, let's have Sparkles go pay" I said. They all murmured in agreement and we handed Sparkles our stuff. Adora, Arrow boy, and I walked outside and waited for Sparkles to come out. "So what did you guys get?" Adora asked. "I got a Mickey Mouse Crop top," Arrow boy said. "I got a shirt that says I'm not antisocial I just don't like you and a shirt that says Assuming I was like most girls was your first mistake." "Seems like you," Adora said."What about you Adora what did you get?" Bow asked. "I just got a plain red flannel," she said. "Oh I am sure you'll look great in it," Bow said. "Thanks". Sparkles walked out with two bags. She handed me one and kept the other one. I looked in to see my two shirts. I assumed she had Bow and Adoras in the other bag. "Alright let's go" Sparkles says. "Yeah, let's go," Bow said and we walked towards the exit. We got in Adoras car after putting our stuff in the trunk. "Where to know guys?" Adora asks. "THE ARCADE" Glimmer yells. "Hey take it down a notch, Sparkles" I say as I plug my ears. "What is being loud not your type" she says causing Adora and Bow to laugh. "No you're just not my type. Like you as a human being are not my type. Not all the people that are like you, just you." I say, smirking. Sparkles opens her mouth and closes it. She finally says "Lets just go" and with that Adora starts the car and heads towards are next destination.
