attention and made other guests turn their heads to look at them.
Gabriella walked in front of her three great-grandchildren to greet Robert and Madeline, Mooreâs parents, first.

Noticing that Cecelia was at the back of the Nelsonsâ group, Camelia was not happy and walked up to her to stop her, âLinsey, what are you doing in my house?â
âI came for the birthday party.â Cecelia said.
âYou are not welcome here! Please get out!â
Ãameliaâs voice was not loud, and the others around wouldnât hear them.
âI donât need you to welcome me. I followed Grandma Gabriella here.â
Cecelia tried to walk past Camelia, but Camelia grabbed her hand and dragged her outside.
After shaking Cecelia off, Camelia crossed her arms and said, âIâve never seen a woman so brazen as you! Why donât you leave even after youâve been thrown out? Arenât you ashamed of yourself?â
âWhy would I? Youâre the one whoâs distorting the truth and making slanderous accusations against me behind my back. Arenât you ashamed of yourself?â
Camelia went to Remington and deliberately smeared her⦠Cecelia hadnât had a chance to settle the score with her yet, and now this woman was coming to her again?
âIf you really pi ss me off, donât blame me for teaching you a lesson.â Cecelia thought to herself.
Camelia knew what Cecelia was talking about, but she defiantly. said, âAm I wrong? Will your deeds outside be able to withstand exposure? How many men do you know? You married Remi for the title of Young Madam Nelson. But you are out there h ooking up with other men behind Remiâs back. Do you think you are a disgusting woman?â
âYou are in no place to judge me! Are you trying to tell me what to do? Who do you think you are?â
Cecelia stared at her coldly, taking one step closer to her, and Camelia was forced backward by Ceceliaâs cold but powerful aura. âYouâve seen how I taught Mrs. Quinsey a lesson. Do you want to give it a try? Iâm sensing a great desire to hit something really hard.â Cecelia cracked her knuckles and made a serious creepy sound, which frightened Camelia.

Noticing her brother approaching, from a few feet away, Camelia suddenly grabbed Ceceliaâs hand and slapped herself hard in the face.

And she did it again. Then she let go Ceceliaâs hand and cried, âAh!!! Why did you slap me!â
Staring at Camelia for a few seconds, Cecelia was thinking, âWhat the h*Ð?â
It was the first time she had seen one like Camelia who had volunteered to be hit.
The next second, Camelia began to cry out. Then Cecelia knew what she wanted.
âRoger, Roger, help me⦠Someone hit me. Look at my faceâ¦â
Camelia ran to her big brother then pointed at Cecelia, complaining again. Her brother doted on her the most usually. She was the only daughter of the Shawn family, so she thought her brother would definitely protect her.
The last time a man bullied her, her brother broke that personâs bones. Her brother was a criminal police officer. Once he got aggressive, he didnât care if the person bullying her was a man or a
woman.
Seeing the red marks on Cameliaâs face and crying tears, Roger immediately frowned, âWhat happened? Who hit you? Who dare to do that!â
âItâs her! Thatâs the woman! You go and teach her a lesson! Beat her up for me!â Camelia pointed at Cecelia.
Roger looked up in the direction Camelia was pointing, and at first glance, he thought that the tall, slender back was familiar. When the woman slowly turned around, he showed an expression of surprise.
âMiss Cecelia, how come itâs you?â
âCaptain Shawn, hello.â Cecelia greeted him lightly.
Now, Camelia is surprised. She looked at Cecelia, then at her big brother, and asked in surprise, âRoger, donât tell me you know her.
âYes, I know Miss Cecelia. Sheâs my friend. What just happened?â Roger asked.
âShe was the one who just hit meâ¦â Camelia complained again. Cecelia said, âCaptain Shawn, believe it or not, I didnât hit her. She didnât want me to come and insisted on evicting me. I refused to leave, so she punched herself in the face and tried to smear me.â
Camelia defalled âDogor donât listen to horl I war hit in the

face so badly. How can I possibly do that to myself? Sheâs the one who hit me! And she wonât admit it!â
âAll right, stop it! Since Miss Cecelia came to our place, she is a guest. You shouldnât have bothered her. Letâs just forget about it!â
After Roger said that to Camelia, he turned to Cecelia and said, âMiss Cecelia, I just wanted to contact you. Shall we have a talk
now?â
âSure.â
Following Roger, Cecelia did not enter the villa and walked towards the pavilion by the pool.
âRogerâ¦â
No matter how Camelia shouted, her brother didnât stop, At this point, she felt her lungs bursting with anger. She had a feeling of going for wool and coming home shorn.
She had been slapped twice for nothing!
What made her feel the most angry was that her brother didnât help her, instead he turned to that bi tch.
Camelia was so depressed.
What should she do now?
Camelia was afraid that Cecelia would h ook up with Roger, and she thought she had to do something as soon as possible to stop it. So she rushed to call her sister-in-law Winnie to catch them in the act.
When she got the call, Winnie came out of the cottage to find Camelia and asked, âCami, whatâs going on?â
âWinnie, look, that shameless bi tch is now coming to our house to h ook your husband!â
Camelia pointed at them to show Winnie. After seeing the man and woman under the pavilion, Winnie was furious, âHow dare she come to seduce my husband! Cami, what should I do?â
âWinnie, take it easy. If you go up there and beat up that shameless b*tch now, itâs going to make our guests laugh at us. I have a good idea!â
Camelia leaned to Winnie and whispered into her ear.

Under the pavilion.
Roger told Cecelia about his investigation during the day. The coroners had done an autopsy, and they found something in the throat of the deceased.
âThis was found inside Ida Williamsâ mouth. Take a look.â

Roger handed Cecelia a small plastic evidence bag. By the light of the pavilion, she could see a specially shaped cufflink inside.
âA cufflink?â
âYes! Our initial suspicion is that the cufflink most likely belonged to the murderer. Itâs likely that Ms.
Williams swallowed it before she died⦠Thatâs a clue.â
âA cufflink. So is it possible to conclude that the person who killed her might be a man?â
âItâs possible!â
Cecelia had never seen this kind of cufflink before, âThis cufflink has a very special shape. It seems to be specially customized. Iâve never seen a cufflink like this before.â
Cecelia worked as a fashion designer, and Vera was the luxury high- fashion brand she founded. She knew most of the fabrics in the world, as well as all kinds of accessories, including cufflinks.
But the shape and style of this, cufflink she was looking at was peculiar. It was not a regular circle or square shape.
It was made of black aubergine in the shape of a hexagon.
This shape was very peculiar. Who would use such cufflinks?
Maybe if they found out where the cufflink was made, they could find a clue.
While Cecelia and Roger were analyzing the case, a black behemoth rushed at them from a distance.
It was a black purebred mastiff kept by the Shawn family, fierce by nature and very aggressive.
Normally, it was caged.
Ceceliaâs hearing was sensitive. So, when she heard something behind her, she subconsciously turned around.
When she saw a black lion-like mastiff pouncing on her, with fangs open, to attack her, she immediately jumped up and did a kickback. Her action was fast and vicious, hitting the mastiff straight in the head.

The mastiff fell to the ground and veered off track. But it rushed at her again, ready to attack.

Cecelia jumped up onto the egde of the railing to avoid the mastiffâs attack.
In the dark, Camelia and Winnie were watching the scene, and both cheered for Thunder in their hearts.
âGo Thunder!â
âBite that b*tch!â
Finding out it was the mastiff he had, Roger immediately yelled, âThunder!â
Thunder tried to attack Cecelia again, but Roger whacked it on its nose, âThunder! Stop!â
Thunder, being hit by its owner, was then restrained and stopped chasing Cecelia.
Roger grabbed the collar around Thunderâs neck and apologized to Cecelia, âSorry, Miss Cecelia, I donât know what was wrong with it. It just ran out. You must have been terrified.â
âItâs okay.â
Cecelia jumped off. If she hadnât been practising martial arts for a little, the mastiff might have bitten the back of her neck and then she would probably have been killed on the spot.
She felt a chill down her back thinking about it!
âGo back to the villa first. Iâll send this guy back!â
After that, Roger pulled the mastiff away.
Cecelia put away the cufflink and walked out of the pavilion towards the main villa.
At that moment, Camelia and Winnie came out of the shadows and blocked Ceceliaâs path.
âWinnie, you saw that, right? This woman was just hitting on my brother!â
âI saw it!â
Looking at Cecelia with an angry, burning gaze, she said through her clenched teeth and wanted to go up to beal Cecelia.
âYou b*tch!â
However, her wrist was grabbed by Cecelia, who asked her rhetorically, âWhoâs the b*tch velling at?â
