Chapter 437 Consequences She Caused.
Hospital.
Snow had been with Jersey in the ward for two or three hours.
âYou donât have to stay with me, go protect Cecelia!â
Jersey knew about Snow leaving Dark Moon to join Cecelia, but he still had some concerns about her motives.
âOkay, Iâll go back first!â
Snow had already received a message from Cecelia, informing her to leave the ward. She was ready to leave with a lunch box, but Jersey stopped her.
âWait.â
âWhat else?â Snow asked.
Jersey turned his face and looked at her with a gloomy gaze, his tone carrying a faint threat. âNo matter what your purpose is, I hope you donât hurt her! Otherwise⦠you know the consequencesâ¦â
Jersey asked her about the purpose of signing the death contract, but she didnât tell him.
But he wouldnât be fooled. He might not care about her purpose, but he couldnât tolerate anyone hurting Cecelia.
âI wonât hurt her!â
Snow lowered her eyes and turned to walk out.
After she left for a while, footsteps could be heard entering the ward again.
âWhy are you back?â
Jersey thought Snow had returned, but when he turned his head, he found that it wasnât Snow who had entered.
âWhy are you here?â
After seeing who had come in, a trace of astonishment flashed in Jerseyâs eyes, and his previously deep gaze became even dimmer.
A faint anger was engraved between his brows, indicating that he didnât want to see the person in front of him at all.
Maggie had been waiting outside for several hours. When she knew someone was in the ward, she didnât dare to come in.
After Snow left, she mustered up the courage to enter the ward.
She was very low-key, only taking off her sunglasses and mask after entering. Then she closed the door and walked over.
Looking at the man lying on the hospital bed, Maggie couldnât help but feel heartbroken. Her eyes glistened with tears unconsciously.
Many words were stuck in her heart, but she couldnât find a way to speak.
âWhat are you here for?â
Jersey gave her a cold shoulder and stared at the ceiling, his tone extremely cold.
âJersey⦠I heard you were injured, so I came to see youâ¦â
Maggieâs voice trembled slightly. Seeing her biological son treating her like a stranger or even an enemy, she felt that her heart was about to break.
âNo need! I donât know you! Please leave!â
Jersey pointed at the ward door, wanting to drive her away.
Maggieâs tears couldnât be held back anymore and streamed down her face. âJersey⦠It has been so many years. Do you still not want to forgive me?â
âHow can I forgive?â
Jersey roared angrily and sat up directly, his crimson eyes staring at her. âTell me. How can I forgive?
Can a shattered heart be restored? Can a severed head be reattached?â
âI know I made too many mistakes back then. Iâve always wanted to make amends, and I know itâs very difficult. But no matter what, you are my child, my own son. After I left Dark Moon, there hasnât been a single day I didnât miss you!â
Maggie didnât have the qualification to return to Dark Moon. She worked so hard to find the secret manual, all for the sake of being able to find him.
âHa⦠Since you treated me as your son, why did you do such things back then? Why? Why did you make me witness it? Do you know that it has become an unforgettable nightmare in my mind?
âWhy did I end up like this? Itâs all because of you and him. You both caused it!â
Jersey angrily exclaimed, covering his eyes with his hand, feeling immense pain inside.
In fact, Jersey has always had a somewhat reclusive personality since he was young, and he was once diagnosed with a tendency towards mental illness.
When he was five years old, his mother, Maggie, secretly met with the mentor of Dark Moon, Zephyr.
They had no idea that he was hiding in the corner of the room.
He saw everything, saw his mother and his teacher embracing intimately, and they even discussed eloping.
Coincidentally, his father, Tobiani, who was originally on a tour, suddenly returned and caught them in the act.
He could never forget that scene. His father flew into a rage, whipped Maggie, and severely punished the adulterer.
He chopped off all of Zephyrâs limbs and head, staining the entire bedroom with blood.
Jersey, with a numb expression, walked out from the shadows in such a situation.
His father, in a near frenzy, continued to mutilate the corpse, covered in blood. His mother was terrified and kept screaming, paralyzed on the ground and begging for mercy.
His father even grabbed his neck and forced him to watch the bloody scene, telling him that it was his motherâs adulterer!
That was the fate of an adulterer!
They couldnât imagine how such a bloody and brutal scene would affect a little kid.
As a result, when he grew up and lost control of his emotions, he wanted to kill, to chop off peopleâs limbs⦠It seemed that only by doing so could he find mental relief.
Listening to Jerseyâs angry accusations, Maggie couldnât stop crying.
She felt that the person she owed the most in this lifetime was her son. She hadnât been a good mother and hadnât fulfilled her responsibilities.
She betrayed Tobiani and was expelled from Dark Moon. The condition for signing the death contract was her son, Jersey.
She didnât know what she should do to make up for her mistakes.
Jerseyâs emotions calmed down slightly, and he self-deprecatingly said, âYouâve been doing well all these years, havenât you? After leaving Dark Moon, youâve thrived in the Cathail Republic and even gave birth to a daughter.â
âPetunia is his daughter, right? The illegitimate daughter you had with him? Humphâ¦â
âNo matter what, she is your younger sisterâ¦â Maggie said tearfully.
âI donât need her! I donât have a sister! Iâve never had a sister! Please get that straight!â
In Jerseyâs mind, he would never acknowledge Petunia as his sister. He didnât need that kind of sister.
Every time he saw her, it reminded him of his motherâs dirty past, a shame that could never be washed away in his lifetime.
âFine, fine, letâs not mention her. What about me? Jersey, what do you want me to do for you to acknowledge me?â
Maggie asked, clutching her aching chest.
âDo you still want to be my mother? If you really wanted that, why did you kill Kara? You knew that Kara and Jessica were the closest people to me, like my family.â
âI didnâtâ¦â
âDonât try to deny it! When my father caught you in bed back then, you also claimed that you didnât do it, but what was the truth?â
Maggie couldnât argue, and she was speechless. In front of her son, she didnât know what to do.
âAsk yourself. Are you worthy of being my mother? Youâre not!â
Jersey lay back on the bed, turning his back to her. âPlease leave now! I donât want to see you anymore!â
Seeing her sonâs resolute figure, Maggie couldnât stop her tears. Today, she finally realized that she might never be able to seek her sonâs forgiveness.
After silently crying for a while, she turned and walked out of the ward, feeling like her heart had turned to ashes, filled with despair and pain.
All of this was the consequence of her own actions!
She was suffering the cruelest retribution in this world!
As Maggie left the ward crying, she closed the door and found Cecelia standing outside.
It was too late to hide, and she instinctively turned her head and hurriedly wiped away her tears.
Cecelia remained calm and composed, speaking in a detached tone. âMrs. Taylor, letâs talk!â
