Chapter 291 Brother and Sister Finally Reunite

“No… Kevin…”

Cecelia saw Adam fall, having great pain in her chest. “Kevin!”

When she ran to her brother and saw his horrific body: badly wounded and dripping with blood, Cecelia broke down and wept. “Kevin!”

Cecelia dropped to her knees and helped her brother up. “Kevin, I’m here. I’m right here… Open your eyes and look at me… ‘Kevin.”

Her tears fell on Adam’s face, and the latter summoned the last trace of strength to open his eyes.

“Cecelia…”

Hearing Adam calling her name, Cecelia shed more tears in excitement. “Kevin…”

“I’m sorry, Cecelia…”

Cecelia shook her head in tears, her heart so painful that she couldn’t breathe.

Adam raised his hand with great difficulty and handed his wishing card to Cecelia.

Then, Remington carried Adam, with Cecelia walking alongside, exiting Cherry Ridge and heading for the hospital.

Remington drove while Cecelia sat in the back with Adam in her arms.

She had been crying and shouting his name, “Kevin, Kevin, you have to hold on…”

Remington sped to the hospital.

The informed first responders were already waiting at the entrance. When the car arrived, they immediately helped the injured onto the stretcher.

Cecelia was spotted with blood and bare-footed. Ignoring her embarrassed appearance, she ran into the hospital with the first responders.

“Kevin, Kevin, hold on…”

She felt heartbroken as she saw Adam being wheeled into the emergency room.

She turned around and threw herself into Remington’s arms. “Remington…”

“Don’t worry! Adam will be fine! He’ll pull through!”

Remington held her in his arms and kept consoling her.

Both of them now looked embarrassed with blood. A passer-by would think they had gone through a serious accident.

But this was her brother’s blood!

No one knew how much blood Adam had shed.

They were waiting outside the emergency room. Remington had askéd Winger and Fredric to prepare clothes to change.

But when the clothes were brought over, Cecelia refused to leave. Now she didn’t have the mood to change her clothes. At least, before Adam came out of the emergency room, she didn’t want to leave here.

Remington had no choice but to stay with her and put clean shoes on her feet.

They waited here for more than an hour, and no doctor came out, but they received Aurora’s call.

“Remington, your sister is awake! She has woken up!” Aurora said excitedly in the ICU.

“Got it. I’ll be there in a while, Mom.”

Remington put his phone away and told Cecelia Cynthia had wakes up.

“Go take a look at Cynthia!”

Now Cecelia didn’t want to go anywhere. She just wanted to stay here to wait for her brother.

“Okay, I’ll be back after taking a look.”

Remington asked his men to stay and keep Cecelia company before he went to the ICU.

Cynthia was awake indeed. When Remington arrived, Shepard and a few other doctors were examining her.

Her vital signs were getting stable. After she woke up, her physical functions were gradually recovering.

“Mom, is she okay?” When he came to the door of the ICU, Remington met his mother first.

“The doctors are examining her.”

Seeing him covered in blood, Aurora was so shocked, “What’s wrong with you, Remington? You’ve shed blood? You’re injured?” “No, it’s not my blood. It’s Cece’s brother’s.”

“Cece’s brother? She has found her brother? What happened?”

Aurora also knew that Cecelia had thought Verda was her brother, but it was later proved that he was not. But why did her brother shed blood when she found him?

Remington explained it briefly to his mother, and she became so worried. “G od, why is he injured so seriously? Cecelia must be very sad. Go keep her company. I’ll be watching here! You can come see Cynthia later!”

Remington hurried back to the emergency room. Looking at his back, Aurora sighed, hoping Cecelia’s brother could pull through. Then she looked at her daughter in the ward, waiting to meet her. With the examination done, the doctors confirmed that Cynthia was out of the woods and could be transferred to a VIP special-care ward.

After her daughter was moved to the VIP ward, Aurora could finally go and see her.

When she came to the bed and saw her daughter’s pale face, she shed tears. “You’re finally awake, Cynthia.’

Cynthia was still very weak with a hoa rse throat. Since her head was the damaged body part, her reflexes had not fully recovered yet. Now her speed of reaction was much lower than average.

Aurora talked to her but found she had no response, so she looked at Shepard opposite her with a worried face. “Why didn’t Cynthia give any response, Dr. Nuno?”

“She has just woken up, and her brain nerves have not fully recovered yet. It will take some time before she gets better.”

Shepard and the other doctors had asked her some questions.. They found that although she might not be able to answer questions, she could blink her eyes, move her fingers, and feel pain.

“Alas…” Aurora couldn’t do anything about it. After talking to her daughter for a while, she asked Shepard to watch her for her, “Please take care of Cynthia for a while. I have to go to the emergency room.”

“What happened?”

“Something terrible happened to Cecelia’s brother, and he’s undergoing surgery.”

Shepard became serious and said, “Auntie, you stay here to attend to Cynthia. I will go see how he is.

He ran out of the ward, heading to the emergency room. When he arrived, he saw Cecelia and Remington sitting on the bench.

Cecelia was in a poor state with blood stains, looking soulless.

Cecelia’s eyes were so red, showing she was in great pain.

“You’ve found Kevin?”

Shepard then asked Remington and learned what had happened: Cecelia finally found her brother Kevin, but Kevin fought someone and almost lost his life.

Shepard rose, about to enter the emergency room to take a look, when the door opened and a doctor came out.

“The doctor came out!”

Shepard reminded them, and Remington and Cecelia immediately rushed up.
