Chapter 59 : "I don't flirt that much!"
Song of the chapter:
All Of Me - Jhon Legend
*********************************************
"I honestly recommend three blankets, if you can!" I scream, for Aaron to hear me from the other room.
"Alright, Oreo!" Aaron screamed back and I smiled, as I shivered from the cold wind flying through the window.
Aaron and I didn't want to sleep, it was too early for that. We just wanted to talk. I want to kiss him too, but I don't know how that will go.
We thought it'd be nice if we just opened his room's window, which was a vast window that overlooked the streets, then we can cuddle up, get warm, and just talk.
It was very cold, but I like the cold. The smell of rain was still wafting through, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I was staring off at the streets, deep in thought as I tried taking everything in. I couldn't believe that I was no longer single. Not only that, but the fact that the one person I had deeply loved has returned feelings for me and has had them two years prior.
"What's my Oreo thinking about?" Aaron's deep voice filled my ears, as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and held my hand in his at the front of my body.
I sighed in content, adoring Aaron's voice, and the things his touch did to me. The way warmth spreads over my body whenever he's near sends me overdrive, and the closer he gets, the crazier it makes me feel.
"Just everything that happened." I answered with a giggle, turning my head to peck his jaw, and Aaron closed his eyes, like he's savoring the moment.
"I've been waiting for you for so long, and you are worth the wait, I can't believe I get to be with you and call you mine." Aaron said so sincerely, and I took every word to heart. I will never forget anything he said today.
"I'm so excited that you're no longer going to be flirting with girls in front of me!" I grinned and Aaron rolled his eyes, laughing afterwards.
I turned around so that I'm facing Aaron, but still wrapped in his arms nevertheless.
"I don't flirt that much!" Aaron exclaimed and I raised my brows.
"Maybe you don't but other girls sure as hell keep flirting with you left and right." I said, crossing my arms and Aaron pulled me closer to him.
"Yeah, but I only got eyes on one girl." Aaron said, his words making my heart beat too fast to bear.
I smiled softly at Aaron, feeling emotional yet again.
"And it's easy to identify her, because she's the prettiest of them all." Aaron continued, placing a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"I love you." I said. I thought it would be too hard to start saying it, given the fact that Aaron and I have been just friends for so long. But it came out so naturally, as though it was meant to be for Aaron only.
Aaron smiled, "I love you more." He muttered, and then pulled my head closer and kissed me softly.
The feeling of Aaron's lips against mine can make my knees go weak anytime. It's too much to handle.
Aaron pulled away shortly after, giving me the most precious smile in the world. I'm so in love with the little dimple by the corner of his mouth.
I helped Aaron pull his small white couch that was originally placed in the corner of his room in front of the window and I sat down on Aaron's lap on the couch, as we pulled a warm blanket over us.
I felt so small in Aaron's arms. I loved him way too much for just a four months friendship. I finally believe that love surely has no timing.
"Are you cold, should I grab another blanket?" Aaron whispered, as he started playing with my hair, getting me completely relaxed.
"I will kill you if you move." I sighed, and Aaron laughed, nodding his head.
Aaron tilted my face towards his, as I was staring out the window with my face on his chest. "I just want to look at your face for a minute."
I blushed immensely, feeling so giddy about Aaron's cute comment. He always makes me feel so good about myself.
"You're so cute when you're shy!!" Aaron exclaimed and I covered my eyes with my hands.
"Stooop." I whined, chuckling.
"You're my girl now, I can say whatever I want." Aaron said and my heart fluttered upon hearing him claim me as his girl.
"My heart's going to explode if you don't shut up." I replied and Aaron laughed.
I pulled back and sat upright on Aaron's lap, in order to see his face. We had Aaron's lamp on his nightstand turned on, and there was enough light shining through from the street.
"So tell me Oreo," Aaron said and I listened intently, "how long have you had feelings for me?"
"Well for starters, before I answer your question, I wanna know how the fuck you never noticed." I replied, making both Aaron and myself laugh.
"There has been times when I thought you might have a crush on me, but I never took myself seriously, it's kinda hard to believe that after I've thought about you for too long and fell in love with you, you'd reciprocate my feelings." Aaron answered and my heart melted at that.
"I didn't think you'd like me either, I never planned on being with you because I felt like that's too good to be true." I said and Aaron nodded.
"It is too good to be true, I can't believe you're here and you're not my quirky friend from class." Aaron said and I gasped, acting as though I'm offended.
"So before today that's all I was? Yesterday, you only saw me as the goof ball from class? And here I thought we were best friends." I crossed my arms, shaking my head.
"Come on, you know what I mean!" Aaron defended himself and I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever you say, I'm getting off you now!" I said and Aaron acted quick, as he began tickling my sides, forcing me to unintentionally fall back on his chest.
"You're not going anywhere." Aaron said and I continued laughing.
"I get it, I get it!" I screamed at Aaron for him to stop.
Aaron finally stopped his ticklish party that he tortures me with every once in a while, only now it's different because I can cuddle with him afterwards.
"I wanna take you out, on a proper date this time." Aaron said and I nodded, my nose slightly rubbing his neck which made goosebumps appear on his skin, making me chuckle at that.
"When are you free?" Aaron went on to ask and I looked into his eyes.
"That's a stupid question, I'm free whenever you want." I responded and Aaron smiled.
"So, tomorrow?" Aaron replied and I nodded happily, feeling too excited.
I hang out with Aaron all the time, and we're always alone. But having it be a proper date in which I'll probably hold his hand hits at a different level for me.
"Sounds good." I said and Aaron nodded and then held me closer.
We let silence consume us for a couple of minutes afterwards. All we did was steal glances at one another and giggle like middle school lovers.
Lovers. I can't believe we're in love with each other.
Aaron and I slept that night, wrapped up in each other's arms, and we decided on where to go tomorrow.
I couldn't wait.
*********************
I checked myself in the mirror one last time, and then made a move to leave my room to inform mom that I'm leaving the house on a Saturday for the first time in a really long time.
I decided to put on a long sleeved olive green romper, that reached above my knees, and had a tie that defined my waist well, with tights underneath. I was going to put on a coat in case it got cold, but then I changed my mind. I want Aaron to give me his jacket if I get cold, because that's just cute.
I was satisfied with the outfit, I just wasn't so certain it suits where we're going today. Aaron and I decided to go to a restaurant in the area that we looked up last night, it's not fancy but it does have an amazing view, and it does serve Italian food. If we felt bored and had extra time before we have to go back home, we will go to a local bowling place.
Aaron and I had breakfast at his place and then I had an Uber take me home, took a shower and then started getting ready. I didn't want to rush myself as I was really hoping I'd look my best today for our first date.
"Mom, I'm going out." I said to mom, who was cooking dinner in the kitchen.
"You're not staying for dinner?" Mom raised her brows at me.
"No, save me some for later, you know I can eat them later tonight." I winked at mom and she laughed.
She was eyeing my outfit, curiosity written all over her face, "Where are you going?"
I decided to finally tell mom, which I was kind of looking forward to seeing her reaction. "I'm going on a date with Aaron, he's taking me to an Italian restaurant."
Mom turned the stove off as she turned around to face me. "You two are going on a date?" She repeated.
I nodded my head and mom crossed her arms, a smile on her face, "I kind of saw it coming."
"You did?" I replied.
"Well, I knew you were growing feelings for someone, you know staying up all night, constantly staring ahead and smiling to yourself, leaving the house more than you ever have before." Mom explained and I chuckled, tucking a piece of my hair behind my ear.
"And you knew it was Aaron because?" I questioned mom and she walked towards me.
"Because, you spend so much time with him and it's obvious you both are very close. I assumed that's the case. Plus, he looks like your type, atleast the one you used to fantasize about at fourteen." Mom said and I laughed.
"He is, yeah." I replied and mom gave me a hug.
"Just be careful, don't get too attached okay? Your future is all that matters now, don't forget that." Mom said and I hugged her back, nodding, knowing that every word she said is right. Even though I think I'm already too attached to Aaron.
"I know mom, don't worry about me." I muttered and mom pulled away.
"Just so you know, I don't like the fact that you didn't open one book the entire weekend, but I'll let it pass for your boyfriend." Mom said and I grinned.
"I promise I'll study tomorrow!" I replied and mom rolled her eyes, not believing me.
I knew I won't study tomorrow too. I just felt the need to justify.
My phone started ringing and I found it was Aaron calling. He must be outside.
I declined his call and waved goodbye to my mom, and dad who was chilling in the living room and didn't seem to care about where I was heading. Which was fine by me, I didn't want any of my parents to talk to Aaron right now, maybe for the next date.
Thinking about Aaron coming to our house as my boyfriend, and bonding with my parents more than he already does makes my entire being happy.
I opened the door and upon seeing me from his car, Aaron left his car and walked towards me, with a grin on his face, holding a flower for me.
I grinned back as I walked towards him, checking him out as he looked flawless as hell. I smiled cheekily to myself at the fact that he made an effort for me and rolled out of his usual jacket and jeans, in exchange for a denim jacket, grey tee, and ripped black jeans.
His cologne scent was wafting all the way towards me which made me want to take him right here right now.
Okay, what the hell! I did not just think that.
"Wow, I can't believe I'm taking someone this gorgeous out on date." Aaron said, staring at my body up and down, and I blushed instantly.
"Thank you." I replied, my eyes lightning up at his sweet compliment.
Aaron handed me the rose flower he was holding the whole time and I took it gracefully.
"Awww Aaron, I love it!!" I exclaimed, meaning what I said. I love it so much and already have a place in mind where I can keep it in.
Aaron's response was a cute smile of his as he then proceeded to lead us both to his car and open the passenger door for me.
One of the things that I love about Aaron is that he holds many gentleman traits, which I genuinely like and value in a guy.
"I told mom..." I said, gaining Aaron's attention after he drove the car, "about us."
"You did already?" Aaron replied and I nodded.
"It went well honestly, she said she saw it coming." I said and Aaron smiled.
"I feel like everyone did." Aaron replied and that reminded me that I need to facetime Rose and Laurel tonight and update them on everything that happened since yesterday. I did text them back that I have juicy news but for some reason, they didn't guess this at all.
"Are we going to tell everyone on Monday?" I asked Aaron, before I mess up and tell the girls tonight, in case he doesn't want them to know.
"I honestly don't care," Aaron shrugged, "we can tell them I guess, it's not like we're going to separate anytime soon, they're gonna know eventually."
I smiled at Aaron, "And on top of that, they've lowkey been waiting for this more than the both of us."
"Highkey." Aaron corrected me and I laughed.
"How far away are we?" I asked Aaron, plugging in my phone to the car to play some music.
"Probably twenty minutes, if we get lucky with the traffic." Aaron answered and I sighed.
I'm so excited.
