Chapter 48 : "Fine, but you owe me."
********************************************
I get startled when someone rests their hands on my shoulders and turn around to find Aaron laughing.
I scoffed angrily, "You scared me."
"You're late to class." Aaron said and I shrugged.
"Yeah I know, I had to..," I started explaining and then furrowed my eyebrows at Aaron, "You're late to class too!"
Aaron laughed at me again, "I am aware of that, wanna skip?"
"Huh?"
"Let's just skip class today." Aaron shrugged and I shook my head immediately.
"No, that's really not a good idea." I said, turning around to head to class again.
"Oh come on, we can have coffee and come back at lunch time." Aaron convinced me again, walking next to me.
"Do you always have to bribe me with food?" I grinned at Aaron and he rolled his eyes.
"Is that a yes?"
I sighed and stopped walking, "What if they call our parents?"
"I don't think anyone would notice, it's just forty five minutes!" Aaron exclaimed and I looked around uneasily.
"Is that even enough time for us to leave and come back?" I replied, not believing that I'm still out of class and discussing this with Aaron.
"It's more than enough, we can skip another class if you want." Aaron shrugged as if it's a no big deal.
I looked around biting my lip, thinking about it. I mean, what harm can happen? It's my senior year, and I still haven't ever snuck out of school.
"No, you know," I said hesitantly, "one class should be enough."
"So it's a yes?" Aaron smirked at me and I sighed.
"It is." I nodded with a grin and Aaron suddenly held my hand and led us away.
He truly has no idea what him simply holding my hand does to me.
He has no idea that I've been feeling alot better about myself, and that I have been loving the idea of just living, exploring, and going on adventures, all because of him.
Maybe everything that I've done this year doesn't necessarily classify as an adventure to others, but for me, it's more than I thought I would ever do, and I'm loving it.
Once Aaron and I reached his car, he swiftly pulled his hand away, making me sigh. I kind of miss the warmth his touch brings.
"Where do you wanna eat?" Aaron asked me as he started his car.
"Just anywhere with coffee." I replied and Aaron nodded.
"You're a bad influence, Aaron Owens." I stated, crossing my arms.
I expected Aaron to reply with a snarky remark but he surprised me, "You're fucking beautiful, Ellie Rosell."
I took a deep breath in, trying to calm my heartbeat.
"That's very sweet." I said quietly, glancing out the window because I'm blushing too much to just act casual and Aaron chuckled.
A couple of minutes later we pulled up to a close by coffee place, close enough so we can make it back to school in time.
"Why were you up the entire night?" Aaron asked me as we sat down on a random table in the middle of the place.
"You're such a stalker." I gasped.
"I'm not a stalker, you're the one posting on Instagram at four in the morning!" Aaron exclaimed and I rolled my eyes.
"I didn't feel like going to bed, that's honestly all there is to it." I shrugged and Aaron nodded.
"Good thing you're gonna have coffee now because it seems to me like you will fall asleep any second now." Aaron said and I laughed.
"I really will, and since we're on the topic, I'd like a cheese sandwich with the coffee." I said and Aaron raised his brows at me.
"Okay?" He questioned.
"I was telling you what you should order for me." I said and then coughed and looked away as Aaron's eyes narrowed on me.
"Fine, but you owe me." Aaron said as he then stood up and I grinned.
You owe me a kiss but I'm not saying anything..
At this point in my life I don't offer to pay for Ubers or food when I'm with Aaron because neither work.
The first thing that Aaron said when he came back managed to ruin my entire mood. "Hot waitress."
I immediately turned my neck but couldn't really see any woman there, still I replied in a what made me sound really stupid.
"We went out to eat, not hit on waitresses." I huffed, staring away.
Aaron raised his brows at me, "You know, I've always had a thing for blue eyes."
There goes my luck.
"Yeah, well, good luck with the blue eyed waitress, just don't rub it in my face." I crossed my arms and Aaron chuckled.
"Rub what in?" Aaron wiggled his brows at me.
"You're disgusting." I said, referring to his dirty joke and Aaron laughed.
"I meant, don't rub your love for blue eyes in my face, it's not my fault I'm stuck with the poop color!" I exclaimed and Aaron shook his head.
"There is no waitress, I'm just messing with you." Aaron said, smirking, and I widened my eyes.
"Why'd you do that?" I lowered my eyes embarrassingly.
"So you're the jealous type, huh?" Aaron said and I looked at him in disbelief.
"I think it's best if you shut up completely right now." I replied.
"I'll go get our orders." Aaron said, still grinning as I soaked in embarrassment.
I shouldn't have showed him that that got to me. So what if he finds a girl attractive, it's nothing.
"For the record," Aaron suddenly said taking his seat across from me, "I think your eyes are the most beautiful, better than any other color or shade of eyes."
My emotions all became a mess, I'd even thought about crying, but I decided not to.
"Yeah, um," I said awkwardly, "your eyes are nice too, y'know."
Aaron nodded, smiling at me and I grinned back.

We were back at school by lunch time, surprised that no one caught us yet.
"Stop whining like a girl!" Nathan said to Ethan and I raised my brows at him.
"Just how is the phrase 'like a girl' offensive anymore?" I asked, raising my brows at Nathan, daring him to respond.
Nathan raised his hands at me in mock surrender, "I'm sorry."
"Where were you Ellie?" Joey asked me all of the sudden, silencing all of us.
"Yeah, you missed class!" Rose completed and I cleared my throat.
"Yeah, yeah, what did I miss?" I asked, playing it off as I ran my hands through my hair.
Ethan's eyes widened out of nowhere and he started to point at Aaron and I repeatedly.
"What!" I snapped.
"Aaron wasn't in our class either!" Ethan said and Laurel audibly gasped.
Aaron and I glanced at each other a little nervously and prepared ourselves to explain.
"What were you doing, exactly?" Nathan winked at us and I groaned.
"Don't even." I replied.
"We just grabbed some coffee and came back, we were already late to class, that's all." Aaron said.
"Thank you!" I muttered and Ethan rolled his eyes.
"You both are no fun." He said and I narrowed my eyes at him, too afraid to ask him what he meant, because I feel like he's gonna push Aaron and I onto each other and I don't want that.
"Girls, can I talk to you for a second?" Rose said and Laurel and I nodded our heads.
Ethan made a move to stand up and I started laughing, "Girls only." Rose said firmly and he huffed as he sat back down.
We made our way outside the cafeteria and wandered the halls, with no place in mind to head to.
"So, what's up?" Laurel asked Rose and she sighed.
"You know how like, I told you a couple of days ago that Steve wants to introduce me to his family?" Rose started off and we nodded our heads.
"Yeah well, that should be tomorrow." Rose said and I started squealing.
"Why are you so happy?" Rose frowned at me and I just gave her a hug.
When I pulled back excitedly, I realized that I need to answer, "You're meeting his family, that's a big deal and that explains alot about how serious he is about you."
Rose smiled a little at that, "I mean, I guess, but I'm very nervous."
"What are you nervous about?" Laurel asked and Rose shrugged.
"I don't know, not impressing them?" Rose replied and I laughed.
"I suggest you pull your head out of these cliché series, Steve has always had a good relationship with his family, they're gonna love you either ways because you make him happy." I replied and Rose grinned at me.
"Okay, any more advises?" She chuckled and I stopped and stared ahead making both Laurel and Rose stop along side with me.
"You know after thinking about it, I say don't go." I nodded at Rose and she frowned as Laurel screamed at me.
"Stop messing with her!"
"I'm just kidding!" I said, walking ahead of them, giggling.
