Chapter 46 : "Your bed can fit the both of us."
*********************************************
Aaron and I were laughing our asses off, watching Friends. My favorite show.
And then I started tearing up.
"Dude, who cries watching Friends?" Aaron said incredulously and I glanced at him angrily from the corner of my eyes.
"Dude, this proposal always gets to me." I answered, referring to Monica and Chandler's proposal.
"You can never just admit that you're dramatic." Aaron said and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"And you can never shut up and start a new episode because this one finished."
Aaron rolled his eyes at me, "You're so annoying."
"That's fine with me." I snorted and Aaron shook his head.
"The only thing that automatically makes you win an argument is your face, because it's too cute." Aaron said, making me widen my eyes and blush immensely.
"Stooooop." I whined, covering my face and Aaron chuckled, before leaning in and holding my hands away from my face.
My heartbeat increased, like it usually does around Aaron and I felt the heat rush through his touch.
"You're really really beautiful, like, you're hands down one of the prettiest people I have ever seen." Aaron said, staring at me intensely and I found myself staring back speechlessly.
"Thank you." I murmured, a smile forming on my face.
I gasped a little when Aaron's hand trailed down my arm slowly. His touch is everything, it seems to always fuel fire inside of me.
Aaron sighed and then inched away from me, but still his touch left some warmth.
"You're probably tired, do you want to sleep?" Aaron said, looking away from me and I sighed in disappointment.
I mean, I guess I'm the one who always stopped our kisses, but now that I know how I feel, it's all different. I don't want a relationship, but Aaron is making that so hard.
I can't stop imagining us together, or thinking about how it would be like to kiss him.
"I'd love to get some sleep, but, where shall I sleep?" I frowned.
"Oh, um," Aaron chuckled nervously, "my bed?"
"Oh, I see.." I replied awkwardly.
"Let's just go to my room." Aaron said, standing up before giving me a chance to respond and I followed him tentatively.
Once in Aaron's room, I made my way over to the bed and pulled myself under the duvet. I truly felt sleepy.
"I'll be sleeping on the couch, if you need anything, call me." Aaron said, opening a drawer and then pulled out a blanket.
"No no, come on.." I said, feeling bad, pushing the covers away from me, "I'll sleep on the couch, this is your bed!"
"I'm not gonna let you sleep on the couch Oreo, I asked you to come here, not to make you sleep on a couch." Aaron chuckled and I sighed.
I don't know what came to my mind when I said the next words, but I guess I didn't think it through before I spoke.
"Your bed can fit the both of us." I shrugged nervously.
Aaron scratched the back of his neck and I can swear I saw a blush creep on his face, which ignited my own blush.
"You mean..?"
"Yeah, we can sleep each on a side, y'know." I said, coughing awkwardly, looking at my phone.
"Okay." Aaron shrugged and walked over to the bed after pulling shut the curtains.
I felt Aaron's weight hitting the bed next to me, and for some reason, I felt certainly thrilled.
I was actually going to sleep next to Aaron Owens. And I would get to check out his marvelous beauty every two seconds, even though there isn't much light in here with the curtains closed.
Aaron lay down with only a couple inches separating us and when I turned my head to look at him, I felt kind of intimidated.
"How about," Aaron started speaking turning his head towards me, "you answer my question truthfully, and in return, you can ask me anything you want?"
I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. What would Aaron want to know?
I thought about it for a second. Well, there is something that I want to know.
"Uhhh," My voice trailed off as I was thinking, "deal."
"Are you actually over your ex?" Aaron asked quickly and silence fell upon us.
I let out a slight sigh.
He really has no idea how much he's consuming my thoughts everyday, he actually thinks I care about my ex.
"You know what, I feel like," I began explaining, "one day, you just wake up and know you're over a certain person, and that day came upon me."
"So you're over him, right?" Aaron asked again for reassurance.
Why does he care?
"Yes." I replied curtly and Aaron nodded his head and then we both stared straight ahead at the ceiling.
"My turn," I started, "what was the fight between you and Steve about?"
Aaron groaned and I continued, "I wouldn't ask if you didn't mention that it involved me, okay?"
"It was really stupid, I don't know why you even wanna know." Aaron complained, shaking his head.
"Each of us gets to ask a question, it's your own problem if you don't like mine!" I exclaimed and Aaron laughed.
"Okay, okay."
"He was acting like an actual little boy, he was mad that I spend more time with you than them nowadays.." Aaron explained and my jaw dropped.
"He spends time with Rose too, and none of us said a thing!" I exclaimed, not believing Steve's stupid behavior.
"I know! I tried to stop that spiteful conversation, but he said alot of shit over and over again and then one thing led to another and next thing you know he's throwing punches." Aaron sighed and I shook my head.
"He's unbelievable, it's kind of like he just wanted to start anything with you." I replied, getting upset.
"He was having a rough week, and I guess I received the end of it." Aaron told me and I huffed angrily.
"Honestly, he should be thankful you forgave him so quickly." I snapped and Aaron laughed.
"Why are you laughing!" I exclaimed.
"Because you're getting so worked up and it's really cute." Aaron said, grinning at me and I frowned back.
"It's not cute, okay? I don't want my best friends fighting because of me, I'm not trying to take you away from them or anything." I crossed my arms, staring at the ceiling instead of Aaron, once again.
I'm only trying to make you mine, and I don't want any other girl over you. A voice in the back of my head added.
"Ofcourse Ellie, it's not your fault okay? He should know that each one of you mean something different to me, you just happened to be someone fun to hang out with." Aaron said and I scoffed yet again.
"That's all I am?" I began mimicking Aaron, "fun to hang out with?"
"Stop." Aaron laughed and I gave in, smiling a little.
My eyes fell upon my phone where Laurel was replying to something Ethan said, and after checking it out, it turns out that her parents are officially getting a divorce tomorrow.
"I hope it doesn't affect her so much." I sighed sadly, feeling really bad for Laurel.
"I mean, it probably will a little, it was so sudden." Aaron said back and I nodded my head.
"Yeah.." I said, my voice trailing off.
"She has you, though, it should be easy." Aaron said and I looked at him, getting a giddy feeling.
"You have me too." I whispered.
Aaron inched just a little closer towards me, "For a long time?"
"Yes." I replied, smiling.
"Good night." Aaron said.
"It's the morning but sure, good night." I said and Aaron laughed as we both fell asleep in that very position, our faces directly in front of each other and our bodies feeling the tension due to the distance separating us.
