Chapter 3 : "You're my spirit animal."

"If it weren't for the fact that you're sitting far away from me, I would've stabbed you with my fork." I said fake smiling, still arguing with Aaron.
Gosh, how can someone be so annoying?
Even I, me, the one constantly fangirling isn't this annoying.
"Stab me where exactly?" Aaron replied, smirking like he's been doing since he took a seat.
I gasped, "You perv!" I said dramatically.
"Am I pissing you off?" Aaron asked, fully knowing that he is.
"Yeah." I replied honestly. If I don't, this won't end.
"Well why don't you sit on another table then?" Aaron asked rudely, and Steve hit his arm from next to him at that.
This is our third conversation only, and he's already annoying the shit out of me.
"I'm sitting here because I enjoy all of Steve, Nathan, Joey, Laurel, Rose, and Ethan's company, but yours is one I don't enjoy." I answered his question smiling at him as I looked at everyone sitting around me.
Oh how much I have the urge to stick my tongue out at him, if only I didn't wanna look immature from the very first time I have a chance to make friends.
"That's my hero." Ethan, my new favorite person said, reaching his hand out to me to give me a high five.
I smiled and gave him a high five back.
If it weren't for Ethan, I'd be sitting in the corner with only Rose like I have all my life.
Basically, Ethan and I happened to sit next to each other in History last week like we always do, however we never glanced at each other. We ended up talking when we sat together in History though for the first time.
He was making fun of the teacher during the whole class, and I found myself laughing so hard, I had tears running down my face. And so I just did the dumbest thing ever.
I poked his cheek, and when he turned around and looked at me like I'm the weirdest ever, I said something that definitely intensified my creepiness. "You're my spirit animal."
I thought he was gonna take a seat next to someone else, I mean that's not exactly how you first introduce yourself to someone, but surprisingly, he looked genuinely happy with what I said and seemed to understand my humor pretty well. So from there, we just clicked.
The thing is, he is the friend of the hottest and most popular guys in our school.
I've seen them together since Freshman year, they were always great friends.
No they aren't those cliche filthy players who sleep with all girls and then throw them away, not that I know of atleast, otherwise I wouldn't think about talking with them, my feminist ass wouldn't handle it.
It's just Aaron and Steve who are players, they don't sleep with girls, well I'm sure they do but not every single one, and not everyone in school knows about it. They just date.
Alot.
And they flirt.
Alot.
So fast forward, Ethan knew that I have only one friend and we sit alone at lunch so he invited us to sit with him and the guys at lunch today.
They were all super sweet and funny and shocked because Aaron and I already knew each other last week because of the car incident and how we made a deal about Science.
Speaking of, We're starting our study sessions today, and I'm nervous about it.
I mean, to say he's annoying is an understandment.
Steve is a player, I already mentioned that, and he's sarcastic half of the time.
Nathan is a sweet, lowkey nerd, who also happens to love Harry Potter.
Joey is a bit quite, really loves spaghetti, is the only one with a girlfriend, and has some piercings and tattoos that make him stand out.
Ethan, well he's Ethan, super funny, super "spirit animal" kind of guy, super sassy at times, super loves-to-sit-back-and-watch-drama guy, super don't-come-near-my-food guy.
Aaron though is hands down the most cocky, annoying, and hot guy ever. All the guys get drooled over but he has almost all girls drooling over him.
I'm not gonna lie, I've always wanted to touch his hair, but I still don't like him.
Laurel, Joey's girlfriend, is that one person who seems to be shy at first, but once you sit with her for five minutes, she never stops talking.
Relatable in a way. If I feel comfortable with someone, I could go off from there. That's probably why I clicked with these people.
Rose is so confident, but never in an arrogant way, and she's always there when you need her. Honestly if it weren't for me, I'm sure she would've made alot of friends.
I'm not saying that people only like her or guys ask her out and ignore me, it's just that, she's more comfortable with people, whilst I hate interacting with anyone. I'm like anti social and always keep myself in the shadows. And she's kept herself in the shadows too only for me because she's a loyal and true friend, who I absolutely love.
"Earth to Ellie." Steve said, snapping his fingers in front of my face.
"Oh sorry, yeah where were we?" Before anyone replied, I continued "Wait, I remember, I was winning an argument with Aaron, but I really don't wanna keep arguing so Aaron, do you prefer French fries or hamburgers?" I asked, clearly not wanting to go back to arguing with him.
Laurel laughed, noticing my desperate attempt to change the subject while Aaron answered with a smile, "French fries." He probably also noticed my attempt to change the subject.
"Same." I said and reached over to fist pump him. He actually fist pumped me back.
I sat back down properly and said, "See, that is how you end an argument that is so unnecessary and time consuming."
Everyone laughed but not the deep laugh, it's the you're-not-funny-stop-trying laugh.
It's okay, I got used to receiving that laugh when I make jokes.
Everyone started a conversation while I leaned in to Rose and asked her if there's something wrong. This is the first time she meets someone but looks shy around them, it just never happens which means there is definitely something on her mind.
She replied with an "I'll tell you later." and when I tried to protest she glared at me, clearly meaning that she can't tell me now.
Well......... Okay then.
Lunch went by pretty fast y'know, the usual.
Classes go by painfully slow, but lunch goes by so fast, it's just how school works.
As I was getting up, the guys lowkey invited us to sit with them everyday which I agreed to.
I know that I don't like associating with anyone, especially with five really hot, intimidating and popular guys which explains all the stares that Rose and I were getting from people in school, but they were all really nice and I figured I should do this for Rose.
After all, I know she has a crush on Steve, and after all, I just figured out why she was shy at the table.
Well today didn't turn out to be an awful Tuesday.
Except, I have physics now.
I hate my life, I thought walking to physics class.
It's lowkey a great thing that Aaron will tutor me, I hope he's as good as he claims he is.
I hate physics.
And school.
And making friends.
And bugs.
And Aaron.
And ofcourse, the list goes on and on.
