*********************************
"If you're lying about those goddamn oreo donuts Aaron, I swear to god.." I warned Aaron for what feels like the seventeenth time.
"Will you stop saying this over and over again?" Aaron rolled his eyes.
"I never said it." I crossed my arms as I lied to Aaron and myself.
"You've been saying it since you first came to school today." Aaron replied.
"I don't remember that happening." I continued lying.
"Oh? You don't remember coming to my locker the second you stepped in the school and threatening me before even saying 'Good Morning'?" Aaron said.
"Okay, whatever." I mumbled.
"This is a bad idea, Mason deserves better." Aaron said.
"Excuse me?" I gasped.
"You heard me." Aaron smiled.
"Mason is lucky he's going to see me." I smiled a little.
"Whatever you want." Aaron shrugged.
"Ofcourse it's whatever I want." I narrowed my eyes.
Aaron looked at me as he stopped at a red light "Someone's mad."
"You must be mistaken because Someone isn't in the car with us." I laughed at my own joke but when Aaron didn't even react I stopped and added, "Not funny, moving on."
Aaron shook his head, "You're really weird sometimes, please stop joking."
"Don't ever say that to me again." I threatened Aaron.
Aaron laughed, "Sorry."
After ten more minutes of Aaron and I arguing per usual, we arrived at Aaron's apartment complex.
"You live in a building.." I said.
"Yep, do you wanna wait here till I get Mason or come upstairs?" Aaron asked me as he removed his seat belt.
Oh god no, what if his parents are there?
"No-uhh.." I stuttered like an idiot.
Stop being anxious over everything Ellie, what is wrong with you?
"I'll wait here." I finally said.
"Okay." Aaron smiled and then left the car to get Mason.
I immediately pulled my phone out and checked how I look on my camera.
I could do it on the car mirrors but I have to be extra.
I look like shit. Wow I really do look like shit.
Yesterday I looked really cute but ofcourse I was home and no one saw me, but today because I'm hanging out with someone, I have to look ugly.
Why is my life like this?
Something is weird though.
When I told Ethan and Joey today that I'll be going out with Aaron since they bailed out on him, which I mentioned because it had came up, they said that Aaron never called them.
I asked Steve and Nathan next, they said the same thing. So, Aaron lied to me.
Nice. I don't know why, but okay, fine.
About two minutes later I looked to my left and saw Aaron walking towards the car holding the hand of a little boy who's smiling and laughing with Aaron.
Even the little boy is beautiful.
There must be some great genes in this family.
Mason has dark hair like his brother but with a lighter shade, and blue eyes from what I can tell.
Aaron said something and then winked at Mason right before they reached the car.
Mason got in the backseat and said nothing as Aaron got in the driver's seat.
I looked back and smiled at Mason. No one said anything.
"So." Aaron said.
I looked at Aaron as he motioned for me to speak to Mason.
"Hi Mason, my name is Ellie, I'm Aaron's friend from school."
"Hii..." Mason said back.
"Umm, Aaron told me a lot about you." I lied right to Mason's face. I only know his name.
"He told me about you too." Mason grinned.
"Really?" I looked at Aaron, raising my brows.
"I told him you poured pasta all over me before." Aaron shrugged.
"Yeah, what did that pasta ever do to you?" Mason said, surprising me.
"Excuse me, I did that because Aaron cheated on his test." I crossed my arms.
Mason gasped, "I'm gonna tell mom."
"Don't you dare." Aaron said.
I laughed and high fived Mason, "You probably should." I mouthed.
Mason just smiled at me as Aaron finally started the car.
"So Mason, how old are you?" I asked Mason, looking forward.
"I'm seven and a half." Mason put up seven fingers adorably.
I laughed. It's so funny how kids add a half to make themselves older.
"How old are you?" Mason asked me.
"Can you guess?" I smiled at Mason.
"Seventeen." Mason grinned.
"That's right! How did you know?" I chuckled.
"I guessed it's like Aaron." Mason shrugged.
"Aaron's eighteen.." I looked hesitantly at Aaron.
Mason gasped, "Whaaaat?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" Mason added.
"What do you mean, you wrote me a note on my birthday and drew eighteen inside a cloud!" Aaron exclaimed.
Mason face palmed as he said, "Must have slipped my mind, you know I have a lot going on."
I burst out laughing just as Aaron said, "Sibling love, huh?"
We finally pulled up at the place Aaron was taking us to.
We walked in and the smell of coffee and toast grabbed my attention immediately. I looked around to find brownish walls with coffee cups and ironically enough, donuts painted on them. There was a small bookshelf in one corner, and most of the people around were getting some work done, with their computers and papers on their tables.
This place is so cute.
"Ooo I like it here.." I said, looking around as we made our way to the register.
"Yeah?" Aaron said and I nodded.
"It's very relaxing, I can see me reading books here." I stated.
"Been there, done that." Aaron replied.
"The real question is, did you lie about the oreo donuts too?" I smirked at Aaron.
"What?" Aaron laughed nervously.
I raised my eyebrows, "Oh come on."
Aaron swallowed nervously and then looked at Mason, "What do you wanna order?"
Mason thought about it for a second, "Strawberry milkshake!!" He exclaimed.
"They don't really serve strawberry milkshakes here.." Aaron chuckled.
Mason crossed his arms after gasping, "You said they have strawberry milkshakes, that's why I agreed to come in the first place, you know I didn't want to!!"
Aaron muttered a 'shush' to Mason as he nervously scratched his neck.
Wait. Hold up.
So basically, no one, not even Mason, wanted to come here, but Aaron wanted to come so bad he blackmailed his little brother?
Oh well..
"Okay, Oreo, here you go." Aaron grinned at me, pointing at the oreo flavored donuts.
I started squealing like an idiot and clapping my hands.
And then Mason muttered "Kids.." and shook his head.
Oh.
"He's right." Aaron shrugged trying to hide his laugh.
I glared at Aaron and then an old man with a blue uniform came up to ask us for our orders.
After we ordered, we made our way to the table nearing the bookshelf with fake books on its shelves.
"What's your favorite color?" Mason suddenly asked me.
I smiled at him, "I like black alot, do you like it?"
"No, I hate it." Mason replied.
"Oh, why's that?" I crossed my arms and pretended to get offended, jokingly.
"It reminds me of sad things." Mason said.
Aaron looked at him sadly and smiled slightly.
Damn, fuck me, always messing up shit.
"Hey Mason, uhh, knock knock." I smiled at Mason.
Mason's eyes lit up, "Who's there?"
"Butch, Jimmy, and Joe." I grinned.
"Butch, Jimmy, and Joe who?" Mason grinned back.
"Butch your arms around me, Jimmy a kiss, and let's Joe." I smiled triumphantly because I had said the funniest thing ever.. kind of.
Mason actually burst out laughing and said, "Another one.. another one.."
Aaron didn't even react and just looked at me.
"What?" I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Stop trying to be funny." Aaron said.
"Excuse me?" I said.
And then Mason said, "Don't talk about her like that!!" As he gave Aaron a little punch on his arm.
I put my hand on my heart, "Thank you Mason, thank you, really."
"You're welcome." Mason nodded, looking down.
"That's what friends are for, right?" I put my hand over Mason's.
Mason nodded silently, sniffing.
Aaron looked back and forth between us for a moment, "Gosh, you're so dramatic."
"Shut up and go bring our orders, they ought to be ready by now." I said to Aaron.
Aaron glared at me and then stood up and went to grab our orders.
I can't believe I'm going to have oreo donuts and iced latte in a couple of minutes.
"I really love you, Ella." Mason suddenly said.
I was torn between getting emotional and getting angry because he thinks I'm Ella.
"You should probably know my name is Ellie." I laughed at Mason's embarrassed expression.
"I meant Ellie, sorry." Mason covered his eyes.
I took his hands off of his eyes laughing "Hey, it's okay, I love you too, my little Butch."
Mason laughed as Aaron came back with our orders saying, "What did I miss?"
"We can't tell you, it's an inside joke!" I said as I winked at Mason who grinned at me in return.
I finally took a bite of the oreo donuts and damn.
These actually taste like heaven.
"God, I've been waiting for this moment for too many hours." I said.
Aaron laughed, "Do you like it?"
"I love it!!" I exclaimed.
"I'm definitely going to come here all the time now." I said, taking another bite of the best thing I have ever had in a while.
"Can I come too?" Mason asked me.
My heart is melting, why is he so cute?
"Ofcourse Butchy.." I smiled at Mason as he laughed at 'Butchy'.
"Bu-what?" Aaron asked, looking between us.
"Stay in your business, brother." Mason rolled his eyes at Aaron as he took a sip of his chocolate milkshake.
This kid is actually amazing.
I burst out laughing at what Mason said, as usual.
********
"Come on, Mason." Aaron motioned for Mason to go out of the car through his rearview mirror.
"But I don't wanna go home yet." Mason whined.
"Aww, don't worry, we'll do it again, right Aaron?" I assured Mason and then looked at Aaron.
Aaron smiled, "Right."
I looked back at Mason, "See?"
Mason sighed, "Okay."
And then as he opened the car door, he closed it again.
"But how come you get to stay with Ellie and I don't?" Mason whined again.
I laughed as I said, "Wait, I'm gonna open the door for you and give you a hug."
As I'm getting out of the car, I can hear Aaron telling Mason 'I need to get Ellie home..'
I opened the door and crouched down as I opened my arms for Mason, smiling.
Mason smiled back and came in for a hug.
Aaron just rolled his eyes at us as he lowkey smiled at us.
"I feel like we need a name for you that's a bit cuter, Butchy is too much, right?" I told Mason.
"No, left." Mason joked, I guess.
Oh my god, he makes the same jokes I make!
I pretended to laugh and then looked at Aaron, "How is he going to go up alone?"
"It's okay Oreo, he's done this multiple times, it's just our house." Aaron rolled his eyes, again.
Bitch has been rolling his eyes all day.
I glared at Aaron and then stood up and waved at Mason.
"Goodbye then."
Mason waved back "Goodbye." and then ran into the building.
I got back into the car.
"You're so extra, you could've drove me home first and then went home with him, he was upset." I crossed my arms, glaring at Aaron.
"Don't be dramatic, he's okay." Aaron rolled his eyes and began driving his car.
"Whatever." I said.
"Besides, we have somewhere to be." Aaron smirked at me.
"Huh? I thought you're driving me home." I drew my eyebrows together in question.
"Not yet.." Aaron replied.
I sighed looking forward, "Should I be worried?"
"Maybe." Aaron smirked.
Yay me.
