Once the car stopped in front of Zoey's house, Travis stepped out of it and went to the passenger side. Zoey opened the door and he once again picked her up in his arms.

"Your dress weighs a ton." He muttered under his breath.

"So what? It's not everyday you get to wear such dresses." She replied.

"Tell that to your twisted ankle." He replied and reached the stairs. Huffing, he climbed the stairs, managing her in his arms with great difficulty. He let out a deep sigh once he reached the top of stairs and then made this way into her room.

Once inside her room, he lay her down on the bed and knelt in front of her to assess her ankle. "How did you even walk in these heels?" He eyed his heels with worry and then extended his hand to take them off.

Zoey felt slightly warm as she felt his hands slowly taking off her heels. "Beauty is pain." She whispered.

"It looks a little swollen. I still think we should call a doctor." He said.

"I'll be fine. Just... I need to change this dress. I literally can't breathe anymore." She said and attempted to stand up but once again fell back on the bed as her ankles failed to bear her weight.

"Wait here. I'll bring you your clothes." He said and went into her walk-in closet.

"Open the first cabinet to the left. There will be a tank top somewhere inside." She said. After some searching, he took out a white tank top and threw it towards the bed.

"Now open the drawer beneath the handbags shelf and find some shorts." She said and he did the same.

After few seconds, he appeared with his nose scrunched up and his eyes widened like saucers. "What in God's name is that?" He said, eyeing the piece of clothing.

"That's called booty shorts." She replied, suppressing the urge to laugh at his expression.

"B... Booty shorts?"

"Yep. They are comfortable." She shrugged.

"Whatever." He said and chucked the shirts towards her.

He then turned around so she could change. She eyed the back of his head in confusion and then asked, "Why aren't you leaving?"

"What if you fall down or something?" He replied.

"How convenient!" She said and then took off her dress while still being seated. It proved to be a very difficult task and she ended up grunting and groaning a few times, making it difficult for Travis to not turn around and help her.

Once the dress was out of way, she slipped on the tank top but when it was time for the shorts, she couldn't stand. "Travis, I need help." She said.

He turned around and when found her sitting in the tank top and red lacy underwear, his Adam's apple moved up and down. "Wh.. what?" He asked, his mouth suddenly felt dry.

"I can't pull it up." She pointed towards the shorts gathered around her feet.

Travis contemplated over this whole situation, analyzing the possible ways of dressing her up without actually touching her. His hormones were already playing hide and seek with him. He didn't want the very naked sight of Zoey close to his eyes to rile him up more.

"Don't stress your brain. Seducing you is the last thing on my mind right now." Zoey said in an aggravated voice.

Nodding, Travis shook his head to clear his mind and walked towards her, kneeling in front of her. "Stand up. Don't put the pressure on this leg. Support your hands on my shoulder." He directed.

Zoey stood up and did the same, wincing when she felt momentary pressure on her feet. Resting her hands on his shoulder, she closed her eyes on feeling his hot breath right next to her bare thighs.

Travis gulped and tried his best not to focus his attention on the pair of toned legs few inches from his face. He gripped the hem of her shorts and pulled them up slowly. He felt Zoey shiver when his thumb mistakenly brushed against her thigh in the process, further increasing the temperature of his cheeks. Finally, once he was done, she again sat down and rested her back against the pillow.

"I should go now." He said awkwardly, not knowing what to do next.

"Stay." Zoey muttered slowly.

"What?" He asked in confusion.

"I said, stay. I'll ask someone to send dinner upstairs." Zoey offered.

"Mom is alone at home." He replied. "She rarely gets a day off. When she does, we spend it together."

"What about your Dad?" Zoey asked.

"His presence doesn't matter. He rarely speaks." Travis said.

"Oh." Zoey said. "I think Rose deserves some peaceful solitude. Come on, just for an hour or two, until I am asleep. What will I do in the house if I can't even walk?" She asked, making a cute pout.

"You won't stop until I agree, right?" Travis asked and she smiled sheepishly. "Fine." He seated himself on the other side of the bed.

Zoey shook her head and then patted the empty space beside her. After staring at her for a long moment, he shifted to her side and took the blanket over himself. The bed was really cozy, unlike the hard mattress of his own room. Sleep on this bed must have been magical, he thought.

Few minutes had passed when a woman entered the room with a tray in her hands. Travis hid his face with his hand, just in case she knew him as Rose's son. After she left, he stared at the tray with watering mouth. It had two plates of pasta with baked salmon, with some stirred vegetables on side.

"This looks fancy." He said.

Zoey shrugged and passed him one plate. Together, they both dug in their food as neither of them had eaten anything since breakfast. Travis controlled the urge to moan at the taste of salmon. At his home, he most of the times cooked grilled chicken with some stirred vegetables or plain pasta. It won't be a lie to say he was fed up of eating the same thing over and over.

After the food was finished, Zoey put the tray on the nightstand and they both rested their backs against the headboard of the bed.

"Do you want to watch a movie or something?" She asked him and turned on the LCD mounted on the wall with the remote that was laying beneath her pillow. When he didn't respond, she played an episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine.

"Turn off the lights please." She said to him. He was hesitant to do so because being with her in a dark room wasn't exactly the most responsible thing to do. But she looked like she really wasn't in mood of any flirting so he took the risk and turned off the light.

He once again settled under the blanket and watched the show about an overenthusiastic detective. He always found sitcoms cringeworthy so he avoided them most of the time but the show turned out to be actually funny and he didn't realize when his sitting position changed into lying. Thankfully, the bed was large enough for both of them.

By the time the episode finished, they both had made themselves comfortable under the blanket. Zoey turned off the screen so the only source of light in the room was moonlight coming from the huge glass window to her right.

"I should go now." Travis said.

"Just let me sleep first. Then you can leave." She said.

"Fine." He said.

The room once again drowned in silence. He kept his eyes on the ceiling, trying to visualise the pattern in dark. After few minutes, he felt Zoey's eyes on him. She was looking at him with that look in her eyes, the look that screamed trouble.

"No." He said.

"No what?" She asked innocently.

"I won't sleep with you." He stated, looking at the white ceiling.

"Why?" She asked, scooting closer to him.

"Because I don't do that." He replied.

"Do what? Sleep?" Zoey chuckled.

"You know what I mean." He angled his neck to look at her with an annoyed look on his face. "I don't sleep with random people or have one night stands. I don't do that."

"What do you then?" Zoey asked inquisitively.

At this, Travis' eyes narrowed. "I fall in love. For me, you are either in or not, there is no in between." He replied.

Zoey smiled at this. "I don't believe in love. I think it's stupid. The idea of wanting to spend your life with one person." She said softly.

Hearing this, Travis shifted on the bed in a way that they were lying face to face now. "That's why I won't sleep with you. We want different things from life." He replied.

Zoey let out a cold sigh at this. She wanted him physically but she couldn't love a person and she knew that. She was afraid of commitments, afraid of giving everything to a single person and she knew this wasn't going to change anytime soon.

"Okay." She said.

"Okay?" He asked, furrowing his brows.

"Okay." She repeated. "I won't try to get in your pants, Anderson."

"Good." Travis said, although a part of him was disappointed, very disappointed.

They both kept lying like that, staring into each other's eyes. The darkness didn't let them see much but they were aware of each other's increasing heartbeats. The tension in the air was thick enough to suffocate them but they kept lying in the same position, committing the details of the other person's face to memory.

"Fuck, Zoey." Travis groaned before erasing the distance between them and attaching his lips to hers. He poured all his frustration in that kiss, letting her feel all his raw emotions. Zoey smiled against her lips and it angered Travis even more, to be at her mercy, to be so easily tempted without even her doing anything. He increased the pressure on her mouth and this time, it was his turn to smile when he heard her moan.

He snaked one hand into her hair and gripped them gently, while his other hand traced the curve of her waist. He followed the curve that led to her firm butt. Zoey responded to the strokes of his tongue with matching eagerness and it made both of them craving for more.

When the position became too difficult, Travis positioned himself over her instead. Zoey tried to guide her legs around his waist but that's when a loud wince left her mouth. Travis immediately broke the kiss and watched her face contorted in pain.

"What happened?" He asked.

"I jerked my ankle accidentally." She replied and straightened her leg.

Travis moved away from on top of her and ran his fingers through his hair. Once again, he gave in. Once again, he lost control. Once again, he broke the promise he made to his mother. This wasn't supposed to happen, they weren't supposed to get this close. Walls were breaking; walls that were there for a reason.

"I am leaving. Bye." He said and hopped out of the bed. Before Zoey could say anything, he had sprinted out of the room. Feeling disappointed and lonely all of sudden, Zoey lay down and closed her eyes to relieve the dull aching in her stomach.
