Faye awoke with a sharp intake of breath, her heart pounding. The first thing she saw in the dim light of her room was Edward, standing near the foot of her bed, watching her with an amused expression.

She gasped, pushing herself up on her elbows. "Edward! What the hell?"

His lips twitched into a smirk, though his golden eyes gleamed with warmth. "Good morning, love."

Faye exhaled sharply, pressing a hand to her chest. "You can't just stand in my room like that. You almost gave me a heart attack."

"You were sleeping so peacefully," he said, completely unapologetic. "I didn't want to wake you just yet. But I couldn't wait any longer."

She narrowed her eyes at him, still trying to slow her racing heart. "Wait for what?"

Edward moved closer, sitting lightly on the edge of her bed, his presence instantly soothing despite her initial shock. He reached out, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "I have a surprise for you today."

Faye arched a brow. "A surprise?"

He nodded, his smirk softening into something more earnest. "I want to take you somewhere."

She frowned slightly, trying to read the expression on his face. "Where?"

"My house."

Faye hesitated, sitting up fully. She had seen Edward's siblings from a distance, passed them in the hallways, and, of course, she knew Edward intimately. But meeting his family—officially—felt like something entirely different.

Edward seemed to sense her hesitation and took her hand in his. "Faye, they want to meet you. Properly. We missed your birthday in January, and Alice thought it would be a nice excuse to finally bring you over."

Faye blinked. "Wait... a birthday party?"

"Not exactly," he said carefully. "More like a belated celebration of... you."

She stared at him, unsure how to feel about that. "Edward... I don't even know them. Why would they throw me a party?"

His expression turned gentle. "Because they care about the people I care about. And Alice has been dying to meet you."

Faye bit her lip. She had nothing against meeting them, but it felt strange for them to be celebrating her when she had barely spoken to them before.

Edward must have noticed her inner turmoil because he squeezed her hand. "I know you don't love the idea of attention on you, but I promise it won't be overwhelming. It's just my family. No one else."

Faye let out a breath, staring down at their entwined fingers. Edward had been so good to her, so patient and thoughtful. The least she could do was trust him on this.

"Fine," she muttered. "But if I get overwhelmed, you owe me."

Edward grinned, lifting her hand to press a cool kiss to her knuckles. "I'll owe you forever."

A few hours later, Edward was driving her through the winding roads leading out of town, toward the secluded Cullen house. Faye watched the trees blur past the window, her nerves creeping back in.

"You're overthinking," Edward said from beside her, effortlessly reading her expression.

"I just..." She exhaled, crossing her arms. "I feel weird about this. They don't even know me, and they're throwing a party like I'm part of their family."

Edward reached over and took her hand again, his thumb brushing over her skin soothingly. "Alice already considers you her best friend, and you haven't even met her yet."

Faye rolled her eyes, but a small smile tugged at her lips. "That's ridiculous."

"You'll see."

They pulled up to the house, and as soon as they stepped out of the car, the front door swung open. Alice appeared in a blur, practically bouncing on her feet.

"Faye!" she chirped excitedly, beaming.

Faye barely had time to react before Alice enveloped her in a hug. She was small but surprisingly strong, and the sudden embrace startled Faye into stiffness.

Edward chuckled beside her. "Alice, maybe let her breathe first?"

Alice pulled back but kept her hands on Faye's shoulders, grinning at her. "I'm so happy you're here! We're going to be such good friends. I've already decided."

Faye blinked. "Uh... okay."

Alice practically dragged her inside before she could process anything else.

The interior of the house was just as beautiful as she had imagined—open, modern, and warm in a way she hadn't expected. Esme was the first to greet her, stepping forward with a gentle smile.

"It's wonderful to finally meet you, Faye," she said kindly.

Faye hesitated, still unsure how to navigate this situation. "It's nice to meet you, too."

Esme's smile widened, and then Emmett's booming voice cut in. "So this is the girl who managed to put up with Edward?"

Faye turned to see the massive vampire leaning casually against the railing of the staircase, grinning.

"She's tougher than she looks," Edward quipped.

Emmett chuckled, stepping forward to offer his hand. "Good to meet you, Faye. Edward's been insufferable ever since you two got together."

Faye took his hand, surprised by how warm his personality was compared to Edward's quiet, careful nature.

Carlisle approached next, his presence calm and composed. "Welcome, Faye. We've heard a lot about you."

Faye felt slightly self-conscious under the weight of their attention, but Carlisle's gentle demeanor put her more at ease. "All good things, I hope?"

Carlisle smiled. "Mostly."

Faye was about to respond when she felt another gaze on her. She turned and met the sharp, piercing eyes of Rosalie, who stood near the edge of the room, arms crossed. Unlike the others, she wasn't smiling.

Faye shifted under the intensity of her stare. It wasn't outright hostile, but it was far from welcoming.

Edward, noticing the tension, kept his hand on the small of Faye's back. "Rosalie."

Rosalie let out a soft sigh, her expression unreadable. "I don't see the point of this," she muttered before turning and walking toward another room.

Faye swallowed, unsure of how to react.

Alice nudged her playfully. "Ignore her. She just needs time."

Faye nodded slowly, though Rosalie's reaction lingered in her mind.

Edward gave her hand a small squeeze. "Come on. There's food waiting for you."

Faye let him lead her deeper into the house, still adjusting to the overwhelming kindness of most of the Cullens—and the icy resentment of one.

But as she looked at Edward, his golden eyes full of quiet reassurance, she reminded herself that she didn't have to win over everyone all at once.

For now, she would just take it one step at a time.

Faye followed Edward toward the dining area, still hyper-aware of Rosalie's cold departure. The warmth of the others had been reassuring, but Rosalie's obvious disdain left a strange weight on her chest.

Edward must have noticed, because as they reached the grand dining table—where an impressive spread of food was laid out just for her—he leaned down to whisper, "Don't let her get to you. It's not about you, not really."

Faye glanced at him but didn't press. She had a feeling this was something deeper than simple disapproval, and she wasn't sure she wanted to poke at it just yet.

Instead, she turned her attention to the feast before her. The contrast was almost comical—an extravagant meal prepared for a single human girl, surrounded by a family of vampires who had no intention of eating any of it.

Alice clapped her hands together, beaming. "Go on! You have to eat at least something. Esme worked so hard on this."

Faye hesitated, looking toward Esme, who smiled warmly. "It was no trouble, dear."

Still feeling out of place, Faye reached for a plate, serving herself cautiously. The food looked amazing, but she still wasn't sure how to navigate the situation.

Emmett leaned forward, resting his forearms on the table. "So, Faye. Tell us—how did you get past Edward's brooding and convince him to be an actual person?"

Faye smirked, glancing at Edward. "It wasn't easy. He tried really hard to keep up the mysterious act."

Emmett burst into laughter. "That sounds about right."

Edward rolled his eyes, though the corner of his mouth twitched in amusement. "I'll have you know I was perfectly charming."

Faye snorted. "You were distant and cryptic."

Alice giggled. "Oh, that's accurate."

Carlisle chuckled softly. "Well, regardless of how it happened, I think I speak for all of us when I say we're happy you're here."

Faye met his gaze, surprised by the genuine kindness in his tone. She didn't know what she had expected, but the Cullens—apart from Rosalie—felt so... welcoming. It was strange, being accepted so easily into something that had felt so untouchable before.

Esme reached over and placed a gentle hand on hers. "Edward has been happier lately. We've all noticed."

Faye felt a warm blush creep up her neck. She glanced at Edward, who looked at her with quiet adoration.

"He makes me happy, too," she admitted softly.

Emmett groaned dramatically. "Ugh, too sweet. Someone pass me a bucket."

Faye rolled her eyes, and Alice smacked Emmett's arm playfully. "Shut up, you love it."

The conversation continued, light and effortless. Faye was surprised by how easily she was able to talk with them—how natural it felt. Even though she was still a little wary, Edward's presence next to her grounded her.

Eventually, as she was finishing the meal (despite Alice's protests that she needed to eat more), Esme and Alice began gathering gifts from the nearby table.

Faye's stomach twisted at the sight. "You guys didn't have to get me anything."

Alice scoffed, placing a beautifully wrapped box in front of her. "Of course we did."

Faye hesitated before carefully unwrapping it. Inside was a stunningly soft, deep green sweater—one that felt luxurious just from touch.

"I noticed you like this color," Alice said proudly. "And it'll look perfect on you."

Faye ran her fingers over the fabric, swallowing the lump in her throat. "Alice... this is too much."

Alice waved a hand dismissively. "Nonsense. Next one!"

Esme's gift was a small, leather-bound journal, the pages thick and high quality. "I heard you like to write," she said warmly. "I thought you might appreciate something to fill."

Faye's chest tightened with emotion. "I... thank you, Esme. It's beautiful."

Carlisle handed her a book—a rare edition of one of the classics. "Edward mentioned you liked this author," he explained.

Faye traced her fingers over the cover, touched by the thoughtfulness. "I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything," Esme reassured. "We just wanted to do something nice for you."

The final gift came from Emmett, who grinned as he passed her a small bag. "Now, this one's practical."

Inside was a taser.

Faye stared at it, blinking. "...What?"

Emmett smirked. "Hey, you're dating a vampire. Thought you might want some self-defense."

Faye snorted, shaking her head as Alice smacked Emmett's arm. "You're the worst."

Edward had been quiet during the gift exchange, watching with an unreadable expression. When the others finished, he finally reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, delicate box.

"This is from me," he said softly.

Faye hesitated before taking it, carefully opening the lid.

Inside was a simple, elegant bracelet—an antique silver chain with a small locket.

Faye sucked in a breath.

"It was my mother's," Edward said quietly. "She wore it before she..." He trailed off, but Faye understood.

Her fingers trembled slightly as she touched the locket. It was old but well-kept, the metal smooth under her fingertips.

"Edward," she whispered, looking up at him. "This is... I can't take this."

"You can," he said firmly. "And I want you to."

She swallowed hard, her emotions threatening to spill over. "This is too important to you."

"That's why I want you to have it," he murmured. "Because you're important to me."

Faye exhaled sharply, overwhelmed. The gifts from the Cullens had already been too much, but this—this was something deeply personal, something that carried pieces of his past.

And he was giving it to her.

She met his gaze, searching for any hesitation. There was none.

Slowly, she nodded. "Okay."

Edward smiled softly, reaching for the bracelet. "May I?"

She nodded again, and he gently fastened it around her wrist. His touch was cool against her skin, but the warmth behind the gesture made her chest ache.

Faye stared at the locket for a long moment before finally looking back up at him. "Thank you."

Edward's gaze softened. "You're welcome."

Alice sighed dreamily. "That was beautiful."

Emmett pretended to wipe a fake tear. "So touching."

Faye rolled her eyes, but a small, genuine smile played at her lips. Despite her initial nerves, despite Rosalie's obvious disapproval, she had to admit—this wasn't so bad.

She glanced around at the Cullens, at the way they looked at her—not as an outsider, but as someone who belonged.

Maybe, just maybe, she did.
