So I’ll keep my discussion of the plot to a minimum.

The seed for this story was planted during a Mushoku Tensei watch session with a

friend. At one point, he flinched and asked, “How is this guy even accepted as

family?” That stuck with me. Yeah, the protagonist’s a prodigy, but family should be

more than talent—it should be love.

I hated that passive helplessness. So I wrote someone you could root for. Someone

ordinary, scarred, and stubborn—one of us—who still finds their way back to love.

Now, here's the thing: I’ve made my point. But I’m also stuck between deadlines and

doubt. If you want Enigmatic Pathways to live on—if you want Unicus to return in

Volume 2—I need to know you’re out there.

This wasn’t just another light novel project for me. I wrote this for White Fox. Not

years of wasted time—just a wild, focused month of obsession. After watching

Re:Zero Season 3 hit every emotional beat with surgical precision, I knew I had to

craft something worthy of that kind of adaptation.

Even if these chapters are all this story ever becomes, that’s okay. This is my

tribute—for Re:Zero, for those long nights, and for the storytellers who helped me

believe again.

As for where this story’s heading? Honestly… I have no idea. I’m just as blind as you

are. I had a few ideas when I started, but writing a novel from that is—let’s be

real—hard. Really hard.

I’ve tried to shape this story into something I’d personally want to read. It won’t be for

everyone, and that’s okay. If this story isn’t your cup of tea—thank you for giving it a chance. This is the tale of a broken scientist who refuses to recognize his second life…

and chooses to move forward anyway.
