The both of us asked for directions to the vice principal's office, damn, it looked like home . I mean was he the proprietor or something, I don't mean to pry but how much does he earn.

We entered the office.

"You must be my Miss Damilare," he asked in a way that was very funny, I tried hard not to laugh as I didn't want to ruin my interview.

"Yes," we both replied.

"You can have a seat," he said.

"Thank you," we said.

And then we both had our seat I couldn't stop surveying his office, he asked me a couple of questions, which I answered not to good and also not so nervously, I am very nervous, but not shy around new people, I just hope I fit in, but this is not going to be has easy as I thought, after a while he asked to be left with mom at this moment I was scared but I left.

I decided to get to know this crazy rich school better and all, it was fantastic and then I got so carried away of course with it, I bumped into someone.

"You should watch where you are going next time", he said smiling.

"I'm sorry," I said, trying to help him pick what fell from his hand.

"It's fine I can do it just be more careful next time, he said, my name is Avery, Avery Johnson and you are," he asked.

I was about to blurt something out, my mum called out on me oh I'm sorry maybe next time I have to go I said.

I hate the fact that I cut our conversation mid way.

"Here I am," I said, approaching my mother.

"Where were you," my mum asked.

"Nowhere, just around, " I said.

"Okay the vice principal wants to ask you his final questions," she said.

"Okay let's head there," I said.

Getting to the vice principal's office he asked me series of questions, but the last question was why was I wearing an eyepatch, a question I hate people asking, I can't really tell the reason, it's a very sad part of my life.

"I injured my eye during my childhood that's why I've been wearing an eyepatch," I replied. It wasn't a lie, of course, I injured my eye when I was younger than this.

"That's sad, sorry about that," he said.

"No it's fine," I said, wanting to end the conversation and by the way I have one very last question, I continued.

"Go on," he said.

"Why are there few student in the school or is it that I didn't notice," I said.

"No, we haven't officially resumed yet, so that's why the students aren't here, he said, the ones that are here are just the one who volunteered and the prefect," he said.

"Okay," I said satisfied.

"Can we leave now," my mum asked.

"Yes, you can go, the interview's done and you performed very well, we'll see you next Monday," he said.

"Thank you sir," I said keeping my happiness within me.

In the real sense I couldn't contain my joy, but you I have to contain my joy, it was very nice meeting you I said and then we left.

We bought burger, chips and fried chicken, with soda to go, so when we got home, we prayed, had our dinner and then retired to the sitting room to have a little chat we were talking about our life in Nigeria and then my mum's phone rang and she picked it without checking the caller it was when the call was going on that I knew it was my mom's sister Aunt Qudrah that she was speaking with.

O God they are going to talk for the next one century, my mum asked if I wanted to speak with her I said yes, even though I was always afraid to speak with her she was always a very strict person.

"Hello," Aunty Qudrah I summoned up the courage to say.

"Have you forgotten how to teslim," she said.

You see what I was talking about, you would have thought I was exaggerating.

"Asalamu alaekum (may the peace and blessings be upon you)," I said.

"Wa alaekum salaam, now that's better, how are you holding up, I hope the cold isn't much," she asked.

"No we are actually here during summer so it's a bit hot, "I said.

" When,"are you resuming school, she asks.

Very soon, I just want to go get things to prepare for school, I said.

" Okay give the phone back to your mother", she said

I was soo relieved, I handed the phone over to my mum.

The next day we both decided to get things that will prepare me for school after much searching, we found a mall, because I insisted I wasn't going to the mall I had been to before. I decided to go over to school equipment section , I bought a lot of things but everything was useful, so I decided not to buy any other things so I won't be wasting money.

My mum on the other hand was at the bag section, she had to get one because of her new job, unexpectedly I heard someone say, the mall has run out of the blue coloured one of these, but I took the last one of the particular bag she was talking about I didn't care about the color of the bag.

"Here you can have this and I can take the wine coloured one," I said

From the look on her face she hesitated to collect it.

"It's really fine you can have it I told her,"

She collected it from me.

"Thank you very much it means a lot to me", she said smiling and I couldn't help but notice her icy blue eyes, it looked sky blue and her blonde hair that were almost white, she was beautiful I must say, she had this high cheek bones or whatever they call it.

"You are welcome," I said.

"Sorry to disturb you but can I know your name," she asked holding my arm as I was about to leave.

"It's Hadeezah,"I said smiling back at her.

" Mine is Ava,"she said.

As we were about to continue with our conversation my mum came to tell me it was time to go, I left but, the girl looked oddly familiar like someone I had seen before we then left the mall.

The days passed by smoothly, obviously I couldn't wait for Monday to come, I was using my mum's phone to speak with my classmate from Nigeria, her name was Munirah and she was my best friend back there, we talked for a while until it was time for salat in their place because the times are different.

Bye Munirah, I said hanging up.

I had dinner and then went to bed. I had my daily night routine. I played the Nintendo switch I'd gotten earlier, but then I got bored and then I decided to sleep, but as I got to bed, I remembered the girl at the mall and I still couldn't get the person she looked like, well maybe later on I'll remember, I switch the lamp off, closed my eyes and slept.
