30: The 'Important' something

We entered Dad's room, Xavier, Xander, Xandrix, and Xendric were there looking through files and computers.

"What is it?" I asked.

"We found more information about Raven, and his parents." Drix said.

"What? Our parents are already dead." Gerald said.

"HIS parents, not yours. That's one more. But before that, Raven Hara or Xhien Veneventura. He's the legitimate child of Carvin and Elizalde Veneventura. Heir of Ventur World of Skies. Gerald, your parents and his are great friends. That's why when Xhien was in big danger, he was sent to your parents. He lived with them — he was said to be 2 months old at the time, then you were born. He became your brother, and no, you're not twins, you two look a lot like each other, that's why they decided to let you two grow up thinking you're twins."

"Is that even possible?" Gerald asked.

"Yes, two unrelated individuals could appear remarkably similar, “unrelated twins.” and that's what happened to the both of you." Lorenz explained.

"Another thing is, Raven have known this fact since your parents died." Drix said.

Shock was evident on Gerald's face, he seem hurt— acceptable feelings. He still do love his brother, Raven. He doesn't want him to die, but he also don't want Raven to hurt our family anymore. He treated this family his too. My mom as his sister— their princess.

"Then, what are you planning to do now?" I asked.

"We already talked to Mr. And Mrs. Veneventura, they're denying having a child, but records on their hospital said that she did gave birth to a baby boy which they named Xhien." Xander explained.

"Whilst, Raven's original birth certificate stated that his name is Xhien Veneventura. I only have a soft copy of Raven's birth certificate, which isn't enough to blackmail them."

"Blackmail? Why do you need to blackmail them?" Gerald asked.

"I have a lot of suspicions and theories in my mind. And 1 of them is that Raven isn't doing this on his own accord." Xandrix explained.

"That means— fuck." We all looked at Gerald.

"What?" I asked.

He looked at me, "Keep an eye on Amellia. Not just one eye, make it a billion or so. I already know what my brother is planning."

"Tell us." Dad commanded.

Gerald sighed, "Veneventuras own thousands of companies around the world, 3 of which is inside your territory. Losing those 3 won't affect them that much, but it'll be a great opportunity for them to attack secretly. VenSkies and one of your company are in a deal, you both own half of each. Amellia can't go anywhere near those companies. Raven's people will probably be there, or you'll be shocked to hear a news of explosion near where Amellia is. They won't kill her, but they would probably find a way to take her, to take what's most precious to your family." Gerald explained.

"They're inside our territory, how the hell would they be able to hurt her?" Xander asked.

"Like I said, they're inside your territory, there are news going around in the underworld ground that Hara-Ruscov and the Veneventura's relationship has been going off the scale, that Ruscovs are planning to take Veneventura out of business, out of their way."

"If we wanted to do that, we would've done that years ago without anyone knowing." I reasoned out. "But how do you know all of this?" I asked.

"This news came from someone I know in the underground. All of the things I know is because I've been investigating the reason of why I saw my brother talk to Zen Veneventura, a nephew of Elizalde and Carvin. But it never came for me to find out that he's the 'dead' son of Veneventura. And some are just basic information that you'll get if search thoroughly."

"Someone you know, who is that someone?" I asked.

"Kallie Alvarde." He answered.

Thirst Gap Gang.

"Call Kallie in here." Dad commanded.

"I'll call Killem, he for sure know someone that could help." I suggested.

I went out of the office for a while, I need to call him.

In a single ring the phone was answered as if he's been waiting for me to call.

"Alec, how's Amellia?" He asked.

"She's okay, sleeping peacefully with Aldren."

"How about you? How are you?" He reluctantly asked.

"I'm fine, I feel much better now." I smiled.

"I could feel you smiling." He chuckled.

My smile widen.

"I miss you."

"I do too. What is it you need? I know you're too busy to even make a call just to say you miss me." He said.

"I do need some help, but we can talk about that after I tell you how much I want to hug and kiss you."

"Stop it, Alec. What is it you need?" He asked.

"Can you talk to Xalzien Varga? He could be of some help."

"Sure."

"Lem, when can we tell them?" I asked.

"When everything is done, when Amellia's life isn't in anymore danger. We must prioritize."

"Amellia would be happy for the two of you."

I looked at Enzo shocked.

"Enzo..."

"She shipped the two of you from the moment she saw the way you both look at each other. Tell them. Amellia's awake, it'll make her happy as hell." Enzo smiled giving me the courage I needed.

"Killem, do you mind?" I asked.

"I am a bit hesitant on this." He said.

"It's fine if you still don't want to tell them."

"But since Enzo already knows, and it looks like a no problem from him, it might as well be the same for them." His voice shaking as he gives his approval.

"Wait for me, I'll be there in 10 minutes."

We live in the same village, a few streets away.

"Sure. I love you."

"I love you too."

The phone call then ended.

"I have a lot of questions, brother." Enzo smirked.

"I'll happily entertain those questions." I smiled.

"Let's wait for him inside."

We both went inside and everyone is at the living room area.

"It's still early Lia, why are you awake already?" I asked.

Amellia looked at me and stretched out her hand in a grabby grab me way.

I went closer to her and picked her up.

"You're seventeen years old, almost eighteen at this point. And yet still you like being carried by us." I teased her.

"Shut up, I'm still a baby. You never got to carry me when I was a baby, be thankful I'm letting you so."

"Sir Killem is here." The butler announced as the door opened.

Killem entered wearing a simple jeans and oversized shirt.

He stopped in front of Dad.

"Good Morning, Sir." Killem greeted.

"Still sir? You've been in the family for years. You need to start being comfortable calling me Uncle or better Dad."

Killem blushed, "Uhmm... Yes, uncle." Killem said shyly to which Dad chuckled.

"So what brings you here? Did my son ask you to be here?" Dad asked.

Killem looked at me worry visible in his eyes, I smiled to encourage him. I went closer to him while still holding Amellia, I held his hand and looked at our family who is smiling widely.

"Dad, we're in a relationship." I announced.

"Finally. I thought it will take a few more years before you finally tell us." Dad said.

I looked at him confused.

"We've known from the start, I'm your father Alecxandrei. I know you beyter than others do." Dad said.

"Congrats Son. I'm expecting the wedding this year." Dad chuckled.

I smiled. I looked at Killem who is also smiling widely with teary eyes.

"You've been welcome to our family since young Killem, but today I officially welcome you as my Son-in-law. Tell me if Alec make you cry." Dad hugged Killem.

A bunch of congrats are heard from our family, Amellia's hug tightened making me look at her.

"Congrats Alec, I hope you two live a very happy life." I smiled but it sounds like her voice is too weak.

I looked at Amellia her eyes half closed.

Worried I put her down in the sofa which caught everyone's attention, mostly Lorenz's attention.

"Shit." I hear Lorenz cuss.

He ran upstairs to take his medical stuff as we all look at a pale Amellia.

"Everyone step away." Lorenz said.

We did as he said, he walked closer to her, checked her pulse and her body temperature.

"She's flaming up. And her body is slowly losing blood." Lorenz said.

"Is she anemic?" Killem asked as he also went closer to Amellia.

"No. Not that we know of." Dad answered.

Killem checked her body.

"Probably tired, and stressed. She's also dehydrated which added to here losing some blood cells." Killem said.

"A few hours of sleep and a nice meal after waking up would probably help, make sure she eats well and don't let her be stressed out." Lorenz added.

Killem pulled Amellia's sleeve up to her elbow. All of us were shocked to see a bunch of cuts in her arm.

"Alec, check her room." Dad commanded to which I immediately obeyed.

I went upstair to Amellia's room. I checked all over her room, but saw nothing that she could've used to hurt herself.

"The bruise has been there for at leats a week." I heard Killem's voice.

"She woke up and told us that it was just a bruise she got while roaming around the garden, she didn't notice a rock then tripped, her left arm was scratched on one of the spiky bushes in your Mom's garden." He explained.

"You should calm down. You're doing your best to keep everyone safe." I hugged him tight.

"This will be over. I promise. Everything will be worth the fight."
