Chapter 684 Frida continued saying, âHe said he wasnât free. He wanted to spend Sylviaâs last few days with her. Donât you think itâs laughable?! Ethan was his son. And he wasnât even willing to come back to see him. He even thought I was playing some kind of trick. What a joke!
âLet me tell you, donât think I donât know that youâre keeping the Arnold residenceâs land deed for that illegitimate child. Itâll never happen!
âIf my son is dead, I wonât let him live. Iâll make him die with my son. Iâll make sure the Arnold family line is completely gone.â
Evelyn responded, âYâYou, monster! Youâre just trying to force me to death!â
Frida chuckled and said mockingly, âYou did the same to me back then. What goes around comes around. Whatever belongs to Ethan, Iâll take them back for him one by one. Back then you constantly targeted YTCorp just to force me to get a divorce. You tortured me and made me insane.
Even that, I still wouldnât do anything to harm Ethan. He still hates me now. Now... Everything that happens to your family is just a punishment.ââ
She then glanced outside the door and said, âCome in!â

Martaâs trembling hands were holding something wrapped in a black cloth as she replied, âMâMs.
Young... This is what you asked for.â
âYâYou two...â Evelyn wanted to snatch the item from Frida. She got off the bed and sat on the ground to tidy herself before crawling toward Frida. Evelyn could not stand up no matter how she tried. She grabbed Fridaâs pants as she yelled in a hoarse voice, âThis belongs to my family...â
Frida lowered her head and sneered, âMom, this is what my son, Ethan Arnold, deserves. Heâs the eldest son of the Arnold family, the heir to the Arnold family.
âIâm just taking away what rightfully belongs to him on his behalf. Zach threatened you with Ethanâs life, and you didnât care. I figured that youâre just waiting for that illegitimate child to come back and hand this over to him with your own hands.
âDo you really think Iâm useless?â
Evelyn had lost her strength to shout, âGive it back to me.â She coughed several times before spitting out blood unexpectedly.
Marta could not bear it and approached her, âMrs. Arnold Sr.!â
Frida remained indifferent, âYou donât need to resent me. What Iâm doing now is no different from what you did to me back then.
âBut one thing you can rest assured of is that as long as my son is still alive, this house will forever belong to someone named Arnold. Allowing someone to be by your side to take care of you is my act of kindness.â
Frida turned around. She wiped the bloodstains from her highâheeled shoe with a handkerchief before leaving expressionlessly.
Friday got into the car and said, âGo to SereneCare Hospital.â
âYes, Madam.â
Zach went back to Floral Loft. He received a photo of Madelyn on his phone. He thought, âItâs rare to see her going out for a walk. Itâs a good thing that she got out of the apartment.â
Under the upscale apartment building, Zach visited the supermarket. He picked up some fruits and a bouquet of flowers. Every fourteenth of the month was considered Valentineâs Day, and the store gave a rose to each homeowner.
Afterward, he took the elevator back up to his apartment. When he opened the door, he found Madelyn lost in thought on the sofa.
Zach set down the items he had on the entrance table. Dinner was already prepared and laid out on the dining table.
He playfully snapped the rose and sat beside her. Only then did Madelyn come out of her reverie and notice the rose on her ear.
She instinctively reached up to touch the vibrant bloom. She considered removing it, but he said, âIt looks beautiful. Donât take it off.â
He thought, âThe flower is as beautiful as she is.â
Madelyn halted her hand and said, âLetâs eat.â
