Franklin had already prepared the stock transfer agreement, so he just passed the contracts to Hayden and said, “As long as you can sign this paper, I’ll pretend nothing happened, including these photos and what happened today.”

Then there was a long moment of silence in the room.

Franklin acted as if he had controlled everything and smiled at Hayden dismissively the whole time.

After a while, Hayden tried to force down his tremor and signed his name stroke by stroke.

Taking two contracts out of his hand, Franklin quickly signed his name and placed one of them on the desk.

Now that Franklin had her pictures while naked, Hayden really had no choice but to follow her orders.

“Her name is Lola Holmes and she used to be an assembly worker in a clothing factory in N City, but two months ago she quit the job suddenly. Her coworkers said she seemed to have taken a lover, but when I met her, she was attending to her husband in the hospital.”

“Where is her husband?”

Joseph was always nonchalant, rarely losing his temper, so today he was really furious.

Magnus was quick to nod and said, “I’ll definitely get to the bottom of this.”

“Also, that guy named Leon, have you checked him out yet?” Joseph asked with a clenched fist.

“Yeah, he flew back to Melbourne this morning.”

Joseph’s eyes were bottomless, like an unfathomable abyss.

Then he said coldly, “Three days. Bring him to me.”

Magnus could only nod and didn’t dare ask more, even though he would probably need three days just to fly to Melbourne and back.

“Out.” Joseph said casually.

Magnus immediately left the studio, leaving Joseph alone.

Reading an anonymous email with only a few sentences, Joseph’s face darkened.

“[I know what I did is unforgivable, but I swear nothing happened between us at the hotel in N City. You should trust her and protect her].”

Seeing the word ‘Protect her’, Joseph felt incredibly distressed.

Joseph had a hunch that what happened last night was not as simple as it might seem at first glance. Remembering what had happened these past few days, Joseph’s eyebrows furrowed.

A lot of strange things had happened since Caesar’s sudden death in L-Town and they all seemed to target Hayden and him.

Then his phone suddenly rang, “Joseph…. Can you get in touch with Hayden?”. Dante said hurriedly through the phone.

“I was calling Anna and I heard the sound of the car crashing, I can’t reach her anymore. The news said there’s been an accident on the overpass that Hayden and Anna were on their way to sign the contract.”

“What did they say?”

“I’m not sure, but I can’t reach Anna or Hayden now.”

Joseph immediately got up and walked out without even grabbing his jacket.

As Magnus was about to start the car outside the mansion, the back door suddenly opened and he immediately saw Joseph’s horrified face. “Start driving.”

The hospital emergency room was crowded.

Because of the snow, there was a multiple car pileup on the overpass that injured many people.

“Live here at N City News. Due to the sudden snowstorm, there is a car accident on the flyover. The original cause is the brake malfunction of a van. We don’t have the full list of the injured, but three people are confirmed dead…”.

Magnus practically ran every red light on the way to the hospital. When they arrived at the hospital, there was quite a bit of chaos at the door.

Suddenly, Magnus heard the sound of the car opening up before he could even stop the car, which scared the hell out of him. Joseph got out immediately.

“I’m sorry. The number you have dialed cannot be connected at the moment, please dial again later.”

Anna’s and Hayden’s phones were unavailable. Looking hurriedly around, Joseph can only see stretchers passing by one by one.

“Dr. Miller, the patient needs a cardiac pacemaker immediately. He’s about to…”.

“Tell the family members to prepare mentally. Let’s check on another patient….”.

“I’m looking for Hayden Downey.” Joseph asked aloud to the nurse at the on-call desk.

Flipping through the list of names, the nurse said, “I can’t find his name, but people who can’t be identified due to the severity of injuries are not on this list. Sir, you should check the operating room.”

As it happened, there happened to be a gurney next to him. The blood patches were especially striking to see amidst the white bedding. Joseph clutched his forehead and felt like he was about to faint.

A wave of panic suddenly washed over him. Clenching his fist, he ran toward the operating room.

“Is Hayden’s family here? He’s suffering a massive hemorrhage.”

Hayden’s name echoed in Joseph’s ears, and he suddenly pushed the people in front of him aside and ran like a madman toward the operating room.
