“What’s wrong with them?”

Hayden set the silverware down on the table and looked at Joseph angrily. “Do I look like a Sugar Mommy or a billionaire? I transferred six hundred thousand dollars to Leon yesterday and now I’m deeply regretful.”

Joseph’s expression altered when she said she had transferred the money to Leon, and he lowered his silverware as well. “You gave him six hundred thousand dollars?”.

If someone posted this conversation on the Internet, netizens would undoubtedly consider her Leon’s Sugar Mommy.

Hayden realized he had said it wrong and immediately explained, “Yesterday he bought me new clothes, so I asked Anna to calculate the total price to pay him back. Then I transferred the money to her.”

“He bought you new clothes?”

Her explanation didn’t help.

Hayden took a deep breath and wanted to leave after grabbing his coat, “Believe it or not, I’ve only seen him twice.”

Joseph calmed down and ate him a fried bun, “Finish your breakfast, I’ll take you to the company.”

When she looked into his eyes, Hayden realized that he would love and trust her no matter what. Sitting there, she was no longer upset. “Is it fun to make fun of me?”

“It sure is interesting.”

Hayden put his head down and finished his food.

“Let’s go. I’m not sure whether or not the stock will fluctuate due to this event. If the fluctuation occurs, the board of directors will screw me again.”

To find out what had happened, Hayden took to the Internet on his way to the company.

It turned out that a blog called ‘Haven for Leon’ posted a photo of him when he was shopping at the mall and wrote: “[I met Leon on the street. But it looked like he was busy shopping, maybe he was looking for some gifts for his girlfriend. I pay a lot of money to buy all the novelties. I wish I had a boyfriend like that].”

This post went viral right away. Later, someone commented with another photo, saying, “[Leon’s girlfriend is our boss, there’s the photo of the stuff I buy for her. But she has a partner, so Leon is just one of her boyfriends]”.

The photo was taken in front of Hayden’s office door after Leon’s assistants entered the office with bags.

This comment sparked a heated debate. Some popular bloggers also retweeted it. The topic was filled with the hashtag ‘Leon, Sugar Baby’.

The Downey Group had already been trending topic on the internet because of the suicide attempt, but now it was back on the list with this scandal.

“[The photo was taken at the Downey Group, right?”]

“[The boss is Hayden Downey, the one who appeared in the previous trending topic].”

“[I knew such a good looking guy is not trustworthy].”

“Does the Downey Group pay an annual membership? Why is he always on the trending topic?”

“[It makes sense, if I were rich, I’d spend a lot of money to date a cute guy too].”

Taking a look at all those comments, Hayden realized that few people were talking bad about her, except for a few fans accusing her of sexual harassment. It seemed that most of the netizens reproached Leon.

The incident was not as serious as Hayden expected. But the actions fluctuated within normal.

“Anna, tell the publicity department to come up with a plan to handle this.” Asked Hayden as soon as she arrived, then added, “Also, get in touch with Leon’s agent. We should cooperate with Leon to deal with this.”

“Understood.” Anna nodded, “I’ll get back to him.”

Peor didn’t go away for long, “Miss Downey, there’s no need to contact him.”

“Why?”

“Leon’s company had made an announcement.” As she told him that, Anna held out her phone to Hayden.

Leon had just released a statement to clear everything up, with a photo of the transaction. In the photo, she blurred her private information and highlighted the time of the transfer to show that she transferred the money to him before this trending topic appeared.

“[About the rumor that is circulating, I would like to clarify that I bought those clothes from Hayden because I wanted to return a favor. When I was working on the shoot I wasn’t wearing enough clothes, so Hayden gave me his coat. Also, she gave me the money back later, she is a very kind person. Trust me, don’t believe those publications or argue with people who like rumors].”

Leon’s company also posted an announcement on a blog, saying that they had sued those responsible for the rumor for defamation.

After the announcement, Leon’s fans began to remain calm and stopped arguing with each other.

Upon seeing the news, Hayden handed the phone back to Anna: “Tell the publicity department to learn something from this lesson. They don’t even keep an eye on social media, do they?”.

Anna sighed in relief. “Thank God, it’s over now. This never would have happened if I hadn’t asked you to come to the studio.”

“Never mind.” Hayden waved his hand, “This wasn’t directed at me. Obviously, this was about some kind of competition in the entertainment circle, which has nothing to do with us.”

“Should I still call Leon’s agent?”.

“No.”

Hayden began sifting through the documents on his desk and said in a calm voice, “You don’t need to contact him. Now that we’ve done the ad shoot, we don’t need to keep in touch with them if they won’t destroy Leon’s image.”

Saying this, Hayden thought it would be best to stay away from Leon. He was pretty stubborn. Maybe someday his name would be back on the trending topic.

By the afternoon, the topic disappeared.

Afterwards, Hayden called Joseph, “Let’s go out to dinner, I’d like to have sushi.”

Joseph sounded a little tired on the other end of the phone: “I’m still reviewing the financial statement. There is something wrong with the dividend, if you let me ignore the problems, I could have dinner with you.”

“Well, you should continue.” Hayden sighed, “If you don’t finish your work in the Accounting Department, I don’t want you to come back to ST Group. I’ll order takeout, can I drop something off for you?”

After hanging up the phone, he opened an APP to order food. She thought she could have dinner if she ordered it now.

“This is Leon.”

“What’s up?”

“I’m really sorry about what happened with the rumor today. I didn’t think it through and got you in trouble, I didn’t expect this when I bought you the clothes. I’m really sorry.”

“It’s okay. I won’t take it personally.”

“To make it up to you, I’d like to buy you dinner. I’ve come to your company.”
