The air in the room became quite tense.
The factory owner was a middle-aged man with small round glasses. He was tactful, but now looked somber.
âSir, the quality⦠the quality seems good enough.â
âGood enough?â Dante picked up a garment at random, âThe front zippers are all messed up and the stitches are an inch long. If this batch of clothes were sold, Green Lemon Clothingâs good image would certainly dissipate.â
âThisâ¦â.
MⱺÉÉ ÉÏÈ¡Ä Å£ÉÅ Ä©Å É¢Ä ÅÅøνÉÅÅ.çøɱ Seeing the ownerâs embarrassed expression, Hayden tried to smooth things over. She tugged at Dante, âTake a break and let me chat with the factory owner.â
âWho are you?â The owner pushed his glasses up on his nose and looked at Hayden.
Designers often came in to supervise, but Hayden hadnât come in before, so the owner didnât know Hayden.
âThis is the president of the Downey Group, Hayden Downey.â Anna, standing next to Hayden, introduced her in a timely fashion.
âPresident Downey?â The owner was taken aback, âI never thought the president would be a woman as young as you, Iâm sorry for my poor courtesy a moment ago.â
âNever mind.â Hayden motioned to Dante, then began to converse with the owner.
âMr. Ellis, Dante is overly concerned about the merchandise, so he got out of control, I hope you donât mind. The batch of goods is due in a monthâs time and we canât make any mistakes.â
Mr. Ellis was also embarrassed. âItâs all right, itâs our fault. I just came back from Guangzhou and I am willing to supervise everything personally, but it never occurred to me that anything was wrong.â
âYou seem like a sensible person, I donât need to repeat how important this batch of goods is. The more attention you pay to supervising your work, the sooner the whole order can be completed.â Hayden held out a finger and said, âIf you can deliver one day early, I will increase the payment by 5%; if itâs two days early, by 10%â¦â.
âIf itâs ten days early, aâ¦â. Mr. Ellis smiled at Hayden. He was clearly calculating in mind.
When dealing with businessmen, itâs best to talk money.
On the way here, he had decided to play good cop, and Dante played bad cop. Otherwise, the owner might think it was easy to fool them.
Night fell.
After negotiations with the owner, Hayden went to take Dante and Anna to their homes, then he would go directly to his own. Since Hayden had an empty house on Summer Road, he let Dante move in there.
When they arrived at Danteâs house, Anna suddenly asked, âDante, can I study design with you?â
Hayden looked in the rearview mirror and saw Dante frowning.
âDo you want to study design, why?â.
âI like it.â
âIf someone wants to do something well, itâs not enough that theyâre interested in it. Have you ever studied it?â
âI⦠no.â
In the mirror, Hayden saw Anaâs expression, full of shyness and embarrassment. It was the first time Hayden had seen Anna like that, she used to be quiet all the time.
Dante got out of the car abruptly and closed the door. It was clear he was a boring man, that was why he was still single in his thirties.
The car started and Hayden said, mockingly, âItâs a good strategy to chase Dante around studying design. After all, he has nothing else on his mind but design.â
Anna was taken aback and then came to her senses. She quickly explained, âPresident Downey, I wasnât thinking about that. I really want to study design with Dante.â
âItâs harder than you thought.â Hayden held the steering wheel and looked out the windshield at the road, âThose who are into art creation are proud of their talent, and may look down their noses at their less talented peers. Donât ask him if he is willing to teach you, if he were willing to teach you, he will mock you and look down on you as soon as you make a mistake. Can you stand it?â.
âI will embrace gratitude if Dante is willing to teach me.â Anna sighed.
