âAbout the lawyer?â.
âHow do you know?â Hayden was surprised.
âI heard youâre back with Joseph.â Her voice was flat, âSo I guess we could drop the prosecution for now.â
âI canât have any secrets from you.â Hayden felt a little uncomfortable, âBut this time I really donât have a choice. I donât want him to find out about my relationship with Noah yet. So that will be it, we can talk about the rest later.â
âNot this time.â Edison sounded serious, âYou two break up, get back together, break up again, and then graduate again. No offense, but I donât think your relationship is very stable. Letâs say, if you two broke up for good one day, would you be willing to relinquish custody of Noah?â
âNo.â
âThen listen. The lawyer is in the country now, make some time to meet with him, talk to him about the situation and give him some information about the case. You should at least be fully prepared, it wonât do you any harm.â
âButâ¦â.
âNo âbutâ, thatâs all I can do for you. Although the best thing would be for you to have a happy life together. But if that doesnât happen, I donât want you to lose everything.â Edison tried to persuade her, âIf possible, I hope you can send Stella to me to prevent unforeseen events. If something bad were to happen, I wouldnât be able to help you promptly.â
âIâll have to think about it.â
She knew Edisonâs concerns were not unfounded. Heâs doing all this for her sake.
âOh!â She exclaimed after glancing at the watch on her wrist, âItâs midnight over there, sorry to bother you, go get some rest. Now I have to go to the Joann Group to sign the contract.â
He ended the conversation with a âgood nightâ.
A great distance away, Edison sighed as he watched the screen of his phone dim.
When you love someone more than you love yourself, their happiness is everything to you. He could watch her laugh happily with another man and be alone until death. But he couldnât stand that the man she chose would give her happiness for only a few moments while constantly putting her in danger.
He would give her a way out if she wouldnât give it to herself.
Hayden, along with her assistant, went to the Joann Group and signed the contract with Mr. Wright. Despite the previous waves, Yi-Baiâs attack actually helped Green Lemon Clothing. Now everyone knows that Green Lemon Clothing was under a solid umbrella. And the rebirth of Downey Group was certainly another strong shield for Green Lemon Clothing.
The signing went smoothly.
It was the first major contract she had completed herself since the founding of her company. Beneath her calm exterior, she was delirious with excitement.
After declining Mr. Wrightâs invitation to have lunch together, Hayden went downstairs to wait to be picked up.
As soon as she stepped off the elevator, she ran into one of the three people she didnât want to see. Franklin Hawkins.
âMiss Hayden, are you here to sign the contract?â.
Hayden maintained his decency.
âThatâs right, Mr. Hawkins. Green Lemon Clothingâs designs were the ones chosen.â
âCongratulations! By the way, Iâm having lunch with Mr. Wright, may I have the privilege of inviting you to join us?â.
