“Where is Joseph, why hasn’t he come back to you? He’ll fight me for the noodles.”

“Would he fight with you over food?”. Hayden couldn’t imagine that, “No way!”.

“He would, I assure you.” He put down the bowl, wiped his mouth and took a piece of bread to finish. “He’s like a child, overconfident and finds it hard to express himself. He would ridicule you, even if he really cared about you a lot. However, getting along with him is not that hard.”

“That’s what you think of him?” Hayden frowned.

She had taken Joseph for a guy who was hard to get along with. After all, Kevin was her only friend, others would be scared off before they could even get close to him.

“Yeah.” Benjamin nodded, “What? You seem nervous.”

Hayden hesitated for a second, he said seriously, “Benjamin, I’ve been thinking, did we miss something when we investigated the accident three years ago?”

Benjamin put down his bread and seemed to get a little angry, “Like what?”

“Why was Theresa so sure that Joseph was responsible? We’re not supposed to listen only to her words.”

“She’s about to die, I don’t think she lied.”

Benjamin was sure of her experience and was offended by Hayden’s question.

Hayden still had some reservations.

“Is that so?”

He hadn’t doubted it before his conversation with Mark, but he did now. His skepticism about the supposed truth they discovered began to grow even when he had no proof.

“I can take another trip if you want corroboration.” Said Benjamin after wiping his mouth, “I can record a video of Theresa and Sabrina’s narrative. But from my experience, I promise you they don’t lie.”

“Your experience?” Hayden paused and then looked at him in confusion.

“Hayden, I’m actually a junior at the University of Police, my full name is Benjamin Williams. I wanted to tell you earlier, but I couldn’t find the occasion. Now that you doubt me, I can only convince you with my experience.”

The atmosphere in the room became intense.
