âWhatâs that expression on your face?â. Hayden frowned, âYou think Iâm unreasonable?â.
Joseph raised his eyebrows slightly and said in a deep voice, âI just want to ask you. How do you like your eggs?â.
At his words, Haydenâs expression changed and he immediately sensed that the mood was different, âAhemâ¦. Whateverâ¦however you want.â
After saying that, he hurriedly poured himself a cup of water and left the kitchen.
Glancing behind him, Joseph looked satisfied.
If she had to take her time and think slowly to adjust to his presence, he had plenty of time to wait.
Given that the state in which he stood next to her was much the same as before, he really didnât mind being considered her âboyfriendâ.
Joseph even wondered if Hayden just liked to be discreet. If that was the case, he didnât mind being with her like that for a while.
But it was only for a while.
After lunch, Hayden was called by Dante to attend a meeting at the company.
Joseph had to take care of the two children.
Before he left, he pulled his card together with some money from his wallet and put it on the coffee table. âIf you need anything, you can take them to buy it.â
Joseph was stunned for a moment and then relieved.
After all, he was the one who said he had no money, so for now he could only take what she gave him. âUm.â
âThe password on the card is Stellaâs birthday onâ¦â. As she finished speaking, Hayden suddenly paused. She turned her attention away from him as she told him the passwords directly.
She was a little nervous, as earlier she had said the date of Stellaâs birthday two months earlier when he asked her.
Maybe he didnât remember what she had told him. She could only think so.
âUm, Iâll be going now. Dante must be looking for me for something urgent.â
After saying this, she hurriedly picked up her purse and then headed down the hall to change her shoes.
Joseph stood for a while looking at the pile of money on the small table. When he saw the card out of the corner of his eye, he silently recited the password Hayden had just told him, then frowned as he thought. He glanced at Hayden who turned around hastily and suddenly asked suspiciously.
âStellaâs birthday is in October? I thought you told me earlier it was in September.â Hayden gaped and even her face paled slightly.
âI said that, didnât I tell you it was in October?â She turned her back to Joseph, trying desperately to hide her discomfort.
âNo, you told me it was in September.â
She heard Josephâs voice behind her as he stood up and walked slowly toward her.
âIs that so?â She heard his voice tremble slightly, âWhy donât I remember, when was it? Youâre remembering it wrong.â
Joseph had already moved behind her.
âNo, you told me it was in September. Noahâs birthday is in October, if you had told me it was in October, I wouldnât have forgotten because the date you just said is the same date Noah was born.â
