Benjamin raised his eyebrows and deliberately tried to provoke Joseph. “Yes, our house.”

Joseph’s face turned grim, “Benjamin, have you forgotten something?”.

Without waiting for Benjamin to answer Joseph’s question, Hayden glared at Joseph.

“I never ask you. Shut up.” After finishing his words, he looked at Eleanor: “You first … Eleanor. Tell me, why are you here?”

Eleanor pursed her lips in aggravation. Her small hand pointed to Joseph across from her and said, “Because of him, he’s crazy. He’s even told my godfather he wants to marry me, even though I’m underage.”

“Pfft.” Benjamin spat out the water he had just drunk. He looked at Joseph in surprise, “I knew you were a pervert, but not that you would be this crazy.”

Joseph frowned and looked at the water stain on his sleeve. His eyes were full of warning.

“Go on.” Hayden looked at Eleanor. Although she was surprised to hear it, she had to let the girl continue with her words.

“The Best Man asked him to marry Addison, and he argued with the Best Man because he didn’t want to. The Best Man told him that he had to get married before the end of the year and that any woman could be his bride. He threw me who was standing there in the doorway and told me he wanted to marry me. Don’t you think he’s crazy?”.

At Eleanor’s words, the two children sitting side by side on the couch looked at Joseph as if they were looking at a psychopath. Stella looked at him with disgust while Noah glared at him.

Joseph coughed, “I simply said that to spite Grandpa.”

“You said you wanted to marry a thirteen year old girl just to annoy your grandfather? No wonder he got scared for you and ran away from home.” Hayden rolled his eyes at her angrily and looked directly at Noah without waiting for him to explain himself.

“So, what about Noah, how come he’s here?”.

Although Noah could already say a few simple words, he still couldn’t say complete sentences. He pulled out his drawing board and wrote a sentence, [Dad got into a fight with Great-Grandpa and got kicked out].

When Eleanor saw what Noah wrote, she angrily scolded Joseph, “You got what you deserved.”

Joseph glared at her and she immediately hid behind Benjamin, not daring to speak again.

After questioning Eleanor, Hayden finally learned what was going on.

The root cause of Joseph being kicked out of the house was that Joseph lied to Harrison by telling him that he was dating Addison. As a result, Harrison got excited about getting married for them. Only when the lie went too far did he confess to Harrison that he did not want to marry Addison. After irritating Harrison, Joseph also got angry and simply said that he wanted to marry Eleanor.

“Why did you come to my house if you had a fight with Harrison?”. Hayden looked at Joseph, “At most I will keep my promise to cook dinner for Noah. Then you can leave.”

Joseph leaned back on the couch. He looked calm, as if he had expected Hayden to say that.

“Yes, but there’s no place for Noah and me to stay tonight. I don’t mind sleeping on the street because I’m an adult, but Noah is a child and may have to be hospitalized tomorrow after he gets sick from the cold at night. If that happens, you may have to take his food to the hospital tomorrow.”

“You…” Hayden looked at Joseph in disbelief, “Your grandfather just kicked you out. How is it possible that you have no other places to stay?”

Wasn’t it a joke that the richest man in N-Town came looking for her and told her she had nowhere to go?

“I didn’t even bring my phone or my wallet. Now all I have is my car.”

Joseph raised his eyebrows as if he didn’t care if Hayden believed him or not. He put his car key on the table and the shield logo on the key glowed gold.

“Don’t act like you’re poor.” Benjamin glared at Joseph, “The money you get if you sell the car will be enough to buy an apartment.”

“If you find an apartment I can buy if I sell my car, I’ll give you twenty percent commission. My requirements are very low. The apartment must be no less than two hundred square feet. It must have a living room and a balcony, plus a bedroom with a private bathroom.”

“What’s wrong with him, Hayden. Look at him.” Benjamin glared at Joseph, “Anyone who lets this spoiled son stay in his house is a fool.”

Hayden smiled, “Benjamin, clean your room tonight. He’ll sleep with you.”

“What?” Benjamin got angry on the spot, “Why, I don’t want to sleep with him.”

“I don’t want to either.” Joseph said.

“If you don’t want to, then go out and sleep in the subway. There are only three bedrooms in my house. Noah and Stella will sleep in one, I sleep in another, and there’s only one more left for you two.”

“Then let him sleep on the couch.” Benjamin pointed to Joseph, “No room on the couch?”

Hayden told him in a cold tone as he looked at Joseph. “I don’t want to be startled by an unknown creature in the living room when I get up in the middle of the night to drink water.”

He obviously didn’t want Joseph sleeping on the couch.

After deciding who should sleep in which room, Eleanor said in aggravation, “So, what about me?”

“Go back to the mansion.” Hayden looked at her, “If you don’t go home, later a Beckham Family maid may call the police. I don’t want the police coming here in the middle of the night.”

“I don’t want to come back.”

Eleanor hugged Stella and didn’t let go. She hugged her like she was grasping at straws, “If I go back, Joseph will marry me. I must protect my dignity, I don’t want to marry him.”

Hayden didn’t know how to explain to Eleanor that Joseph only said that excuse not to marry Addison, he didn’t know what to do seeing that Eleanor was angry. Therefore, she angrily said to Joseph, “Mr. Beckham, please take care of the problem you have created.”

Joseph looked at Eleanor and said briefly, “If you think it’s too dangerous to marry me, then don’t you think it’s more dangerous to sleep here with me?”

His words sounded so convincing that even Hayden got goose bumps.

Eleanor looked terrified. She cried inconsolably and complained to Hayden, “There is no justice. I’m your aunt, the butler said you’re committing incest, incest!”.

“You can come back when you finish crying. If not, a maid will come. I must remind you that, being discovered and sent back home, or coming back by yourself are two different things.” Joseph reminded her impatiently.

Eleanor stopped crying immediately….

“I’ll be back now.”

Eleanor sniffled and grabbed her backpack. She said goodbye to everyone and looked at Joseph angrily. Then she opened the door and walked out of the house, leaving those present dumbfounded.

Did this girl suffer from some kind of mental illness to be so dramatic?

With a banging sound, the door closed and the house fell completely silent. Hayden looked at the four people on the couch. She felt annoyed and left with an excuse, “I’ll go cook.”

Then she locked herself in the kitchen.

She knew exactly why Joseph had come to her house. Even if Harrison was very angry with her grandson, she would not leave him without a place to live. However, she didn’t want to argue with Joseph anymore, as she knew he had made many excuses and seemed determined not to leave.

She wanted to take care of Noah and didn’t care if there was anyone else in the house. Therefore, she would consider Joseph as someone to accompany Noah home.

She had a feeling that Joseph would not stay at her house for long.

As she was choosing ingredients to cook, the sliding kitchen door opened with a sound and a tall figure entered the kitchen. The person closed the door after entering completely.

“Addison had told you, hadn’t she?”.

Hayden heard Joseph’s voice from behind him.

His heart pounded for a moment. The carrot he was peeling rolled into the sink, making a splash.
