Seeing the smirk on Samuelâs face, Violet inwardly cursed, but put a kind and admiring smile on her face. âSamuel, according to my knowledge of Hayden, you canât go up like this, you have to be like thisâ¦â.
Samuel nodded complacently after hearing Violetâs words.
âThatâs a good idea, if I get it, Iâll get you anything you want.â
Violet smiled, âThis is a piece of cake for you, isnât it?â.
Violet sucked down the champagne to the bottom after watching Samuel leave. She had a wicked expression on her face, she had been bored out of her mind lately, this might bring her some fun.
A voice came from behind her as soon as she set the glass down.
âMiss Kidman, itâs been a long time.â
Violetâs back stiffened and her face changed as she saw the suited man behind her.
âWhat brings you here?â
âAm I not allowed?â The man acted delicately, but let a sense of slyness creep in, âIt seems Miss Kidman has been busy lately, doesnât she know about N-City and the change in status?â
Violetâs face turned serious, âWhat do you mean?â.
âMy new business card, are you still in touch?â.
A golden name card appeared in front of Violet, the golden letters were outstanding, Violet read, â[ST Group, CEO Franklin Hawkins]⦠youâ¦â.
âIâm useless, it took me three whole years to resurrect.â Franklin looked sly, âOn the other hand, Miss Kidman seems unfortunate, are you serving a lout like Samuel Shawn?â.
Violetâs face turned slightly white at his words, âJust to kill time.â
âDo you want a change of scenery?â Franklin lifted the corner of his lips and said in a soft but cutting tone. It was hard to refuse.
Violet clenched her fists and forced a smile, âOf course, itâs been so long.â
In the moonlight, a silver gray limousine pulled up in front of the hotel, Magnus got out to open the door.
âMr. Beckham, you have never participated in the meeting of a small corporation such as this, what brings you here tonight?â.
âFranklin Hawkins is here, isnât he?â. Joseph straightened his shirt sleeves and said coldly, âHe finally got the position he dreamed of, but heâs still attending this meeting do you know why?â
Magnus was puzzled, âWhy?â.
âThe group is huge, many subsidiary companies can easily declare themselves independent, loosening themselves from the control of the headquarters. What do you think Franklin is doing being CEO so easily?â.
âDidnât Old Master Beckham appoint him?â.
âHe has to be capable, even if he was appointed.â
Magnus now realized after hearing Josephâs words. He opened his eyes wide, âYou mean heâs been contacting the affiliates all this time?â
Joseph did not answer, they both arrived in the lounge.
Despite being a cocktail party of the S-City and N-City clothing companies, it was grand and filled with guests from various fields.
At the entrance they bumped into some familiar faces.
Joseph chatted informally with their acquaintances and signaled Magnus to look for Franklin.
âMr. Beckham, we didnât expect to see you at such a small party, itâs a pleasure.â The organizer came over to greet him with a smirk.
Everyone inside knew he was no longer the CEO of ST Group. If he hadnât received the invitation a month ago when he was still CEO, he wouldnât be invited now.
He was calm. He took a sip of drink to finish his greeting and began to wander around the lobby. He saw a familiar figure after a few steps, someone in a wine-colored dress, like a beautiful rose chatting with others in the lounge area.
Josephâs eyes were drawn to her.
He hadnât expected to see her here.
Hayden had no idea that there were several pairs of eyes riveted on her. She was enthusiastically introducing Mr. Wright to the Green Lemon Clothing design team and their exceptional performance.
Under Edwinaâs introduction, they were conversing pleasantly.
Although Green Lemon Clothing was not well known in the clothing industry, it was an old name with years of experience and stable roots. It used to be a subsidiary of the Downey Group, but the relationship had been severed.
Edwina was a smart person, she spoke only when necessary, looking at Mr. Wrightâs reaction, this collaboration had a very high success rate.
âIf time permits, Mr. Wright should take a trip to Green Lemon Clothing to verify what I have told him.â
Noting Haydenâs calmness and sincerity, Mr. Wright smiled, âMiss Downey doesnât look like a novice in business, my daughter had been my apprentice for a few years, but she is still nervous, you are much better compared to my daughter.â
âIâm flattered.â Hayden smiled modestly, âBut I guess Mr. Wright is busy tonight, we wonât take up any more of your time.â Mr. Wright left after they said their goodbyes.
Hayden let out a sigh of relief, âThank you, Edwina.â
âYouâre welcome.â Edwina looked at the clock, âThereâs something I need to take care of, you can take care of contacting Mr. Wright directly from now on, call me when needed.â
âOkay.â
After watching Edwina leave, Hayden took a glass of juice from a waiter and took a sip. A familiar face fell into her view as she raised her head.
She had never expected to meet Joseph Beckham here.
They werenât far from each other. Josephâs eyes were riveted on her, there was no sign of evasion or emotion, he was just looking at her.
Hayden took a step forward unconsciously.
âMs. Downey from Green Lemon Clothing?â
Someone appeared in front of her, blocking her path and her view.
Hayden was stunned. There was a man in a royal blue suit standing in front of her, the dazzling bright color a bit jarring to the eye.
She couldnât remember who this person was. âYou are?â
âAllow me to introduce myself, I am Samuel Shawn, Vice President of the Porry Group.â Samuel passed her a shiny gold card with his name on it, âIâve been watching you since your arrival, you seem to be close to Mr. Wright of the Joann Group, right?â.
Hayden had no intention of conversing with this playboy looking young man, he simply nodded. âWeâre not close, we just know each other. Excuse me, I have to go somewhere else.â
Samuel smiled, âWhatâs your hurry? Youâre not close friends with Mr. Wright, but my father is. If you want to work with him, I can help you, Iâm sure heâll agree.â
