Alayna and Dante were students at St. York University and graduated the same year. But, when they graduated, Dante graduated with a doctorate, while Alayna graduated with a master’s degree. They had the same professor and were best buddies in fashion design.

The graduation paper Hayden took to Alayna was a design they worked on together at the time.

When he went to see her, she was in a much better state of mind than before. Her mind was clear, she also knew who she was and who Hayden was, even her emotions were the same as a normal person. She even went to the kitchen to prepare a salad with great enthusiasm.

However, this kind of enthusiasm to please her made Hayden feel sad.

This showed that Alayna was not getting better. On the contrary, her illness had worsened.

According to the things Alayna told Hayden, it was definitely not good for Alayna to treat others with too much enthusiasm when she relapsed. The last trance of her intention to survive forced her to please everyone around her while holding back her emotions, as if she was grasping at straws.

“It seems to me that your mental state is not very good.” Hayden said as an understatement, looking at Kevin, who was standing next to him.

“Why do you say it like that? Actually, I feel like your mental state is pretty good.” Kevin had also just returned from his store not too long ago. He was wearing the same clothes he had just put on, only without the suit jacket and with a white shirt underneath.

He had a few pronounced dark circles under his eyes, which were especially noticeable under the light.

In front of Alayna, Kevin had always seemed energetic, but once he wasn’t in front of Alayna, he looked very frazzled.

Hayden really felt it was a miracle that a pampered Young Master, lasted so long caring for Alayna.

“Both your state of mind and Alayna’s are not too good.” Hayden said honestly, “I think we should send her to a professional institute for rehabilitation.”

“No way. I’ve seen all the big and small psychiatric hospitals and rehab centers in N-Town. Those places are not suitable for anyone’s rehabilitation. Even a normal person would become a psychopath if they went in.” Kevin immediately refused, giving no chance.

Hayden seemed calm: “The institutes in China are all like that. But the high schools I’m considering are the ones in the U.S., not China. As Alayna’s best friend, I think it’s more appropriate for her to go there for treatment.”

“This is Edison’s suggestion?”

Hayden frowned and didn’t deny it.

“He’s crazy, isn’t he?” Kevin suddenly became excited, “No women in U States? Is he too free? Why did he come to N City? He caused the problems between you and Joseph, And now he’s trying to get me to break up with Alayna?”

“Kevin.” Hayden spoke softly and sounded somewhat displeased, “Watch your words. Edison is one of Alayna’s few friends. I can guarantee you that he has no nasty thoughts towards her and is only helping her friend with good intentions, it’s not like you say.”

Kevin’s face turned pale and he looked a little hostile, “He thinks I’m nasty. I will never accept anyone taking Alayna away from me.”

Hayden clenched his fist, “You’re selfish.”

If I wanted to evaluate Kevin’s behavior at that moment, I would use the word ‘selfish’.

The way he blocked Alayna’s chance of recovery for the sake of his comfort was not considered loving her at all.

Hayden looked at Kevin blankly, “Alayna is human. In terms of proximity, I have more power than you to decide how she should be treated now. I’m not here to discuss this with you, I’m just informing you.”

“What do you mean?” Kevin’s face turned grim. “You think you can be arrogant in N City just because you have Edison backing you up?”.

His words were so harsh that Hayden who had been suppressing her anger all morning, felt furious. He said moodily.

“You think everyone is like you two, that you have nothing else to do but look for someone to back you up and try to make yourselves arrogant in N City? You’re just like Joseph, you two are bastards. Was it me who wanted to take Alayna away? It was you who forced her to stay here and let her think too much without being able to release her stress. If something happens someday, you will regret it for the rest of your life.”

Kevin’s expression was unpleasant as he was scolded by Hayden in a bad way.

Especially when he heard the words ‘something happens’, he was stunned and remembered the accident that happened two days ago. He felt very sad.

“Do you know what I bring here today?”.

Hayden took out the items inside the huge paper bag, and the white gauze material inlaid with gold silk dots was spread out on the sofa. It looked inconspicuous but radiant in the light, like a dress woven with white clouds and starry sky at the same time. The dress was vaporous, soft and fluffy. It was a dreamy wedding dress.

“This is Alayna’s graduation design. The title is ‘dream.'”

She thought of marriage as a dream because it was out of her reach. It was difficult for her to lead a normal life entering the world of marriage. Instead of hoping to have a marriage, he hoped to live a normal life.

“Think about it.”

Hayden left the paper bag there and picked up her purse. She wanted to leave, but before she went, she looked at him and said impolitely, “This morning’s stunt was too stupid. If you want to reconcile the dispute between the others, be sure to see if the others want to do it or not. Next time keep your nose out of other people’s business.”

Kevin was scolded by Hayden inexplicably. In normal times, he would have jumped up and asked for clarification, but now he didn’t defend himself. He just stared perplexedly at the wedding dress on the couch.

He had always thought that Alayna had no desire to marry someone, or even that she was afraid of it, just as he had always thought she sought freedom and never cared about her family.

He was wrong. He really didn’t know enough about Alayna.

When Hayden had left, Alayna came out of the kitchen with a salad in her hands. Seeing that only Kevin was in the living room, she asked, “Where’s Hayden?”

“He was gone.” Replied Kevin casually.

“Oh? How come he’s gone?”.

With a surprised look on her face, Alayna set the salad plate down on the coffee table. When she looked up, she saw the wedding dress on the couch and froze for a moment.

“Why is it here?”

Kevin looked at Alayna’s expression, which had changed. She asked with mixed feelings, “Is this your graduation paper?”

“Yes.” Alayna replied weakly. Touching the tail of the wedding dress, she slowly sat to the side, “I haven’t seen it since graduation. I’ve almost forgotten what it looks like, back then, I even won the award for best graduation paper with this piece.”

Watching Alayna’s expression as she looked at the wedding dress, Kevin could tell what she was really thinking.

She would not be willing to be a suffering patient. She had dreams and expectations in this world and she wouldn’t want to stay with him in such a small room forever.

Hayden was right. Maybe someday he would get careless and an irreparable accident would happen.

“Alayna, do you want to go to Estados U for a hospital rehabilitation?”. The man’s somber voice echoed in the room.
