In the VIP room of the hospital, Magnusâ voice echoed throughout the large room. His voice was laced with a hint of concern.
âThey didnât mention anything else at the meeting. However, most of the Board members wanted an explanation about the loss of the project in Guangzhou. Mr. Scott had helped him tell the members about his situation, but all his words were refuted by Mr. Liam.â
âUnderstood.â
Joseph had already removed his hospital gown. His handmade black suit matched the curves of his muscular body, which covered the bandages on his back.
When he stood up, there was no longer the slightest hint of visible illness on his face.
âGo complete the discharge formalities.â
âBut Mr. Beckham, the doctor has said you cannot be discharged because your injury has not fully healed.â
Joseph, however, fastened the buttons of his suit and left the room with large strides, as if he had not heard Magnusâ words. He said only one sentence casually, âYou should know what to tell the hospital staff when you go through the discharge formalities.â
Looking at Josephâs back, Magnus sighed helplessly and followed him.
The doctor had asked him to be hospitalized for at least a month to recover. He had two broken ribs in front of his chest and compressed nerves to his heart. It was very serious.
However, Joseph was still acting like it was no big deal.
Magnus thought he should work hard like the boss who was injured, but he still works so hard.
ding The elevator opened with a loud chime as it reached their floor and Magnus followed Joseph into the elevator one after another. At the same time, another elevator arrived on his floor.
A nurse pushed a stretcher out, followed by a large group of family members. With no ability to resist, a slender figure was squeezed and trapped in the crowd, only able to helplessly get out along with the crowd.
The crowd was very noisy and Joseph did not see the woman, as he brushed past her.
âHas Joseph been discharged?â Hayden asked the nurse on duty at the hospitalization desk. She seemed stunned after learning that Joseph had been discharged, âHow is that possible? I just found out he was hospitalized and came to see him. Are you sure youâre checking on the right patient?â
âYes, Iâm sure Iâm not mistaken.â The nurse patiently explained, âThe patient has just been discharged. Hello? Are you coming from elevator one? He just got out of there.â
Hayden was dumbfounded, âHe just got off?â
âYes, the person next to him who came in to do the discharge paperwork must be his assistant. The two of them justâ¦â.
Before the nurse could finish her words, another elderly nurse to the side abruptly interrupted her.
âThey both just left. Miss, itâs not too late to chase them yet, but donât worry about him, the patientâs injuries are not serious. Itâs just that rich people like to make a fuss. The doctor told him that it was not necessary for him to stay so long in the hospital, but he still felt uneasy. So he stayed in the hospital for observation these days.â
Hayden regained consciousness and looked at the nurse who spoke in a daze. After confirming that he had not misheard the nurseâs words, the anxiety and worry in his eyes slowly dissipated and he smiled self-congratulatory smile.
She wondered why she had believed Joseph was seriously injured and had rushed to the hospital.
If he hadnât been discharged by chance, she believed there was a good chance he would be taunting him again when he saw her visiting him unsolicited.
Seeing Haydenâs dejected look as he left, the young nurse at the on-call desk patted her chest and let out a long sigh of relief.
âKatherine, thankfully you reacted quickly. I didnât even realize I was about to say the wrong thing just now. If the head nurse had known, she would have scolded me harshly.â
âThe head nurse said that Mr. Beckhamâs assistant had specifically ordered us not to tell the truth about Mr. Beckhamâs condition if anyone asked about it. Were you playing with your phone until you heard her words?â
The young nurse reluctantly spat, âI heard his words. I just didnât expect someone to ask about it so soon. I was careless, and itâs very strange. Mr. Beckham is not suffering from a strange disease. Why canât he tell the truth to others?â
âYou donât understand.â The older nurse frowned, âWhat patient who stays here isnât worth a few hundred million dollars? Things in the business world change quickly. When one person goes down, millions of people wait to replace them. How dare they reveal their health status to others.â
âIs it that scary?â The little nurse looked shocked, âThen I justâ¦â.
âNever mind. Itâs already happened and nothing happened, just learn from this lesson. Go make the rounds on duty. I wonât tell the head nurse.â
âThank you Katherine, Iâll be on my way.â
Noting the nonchalant look on the young nurseâs face, the older nurse shook her head helplessly.
The most important thing when you worked in a hospital was that you couldnât take things lightly. One had to be on guard at all times, especially if one worked in the inpatient department of the VIP rooms. If you just told other people about patient issues, you might not be able to keep your job.
After leaving the hospital, Hayden returned to his store. Business was good and he had a strong following. As a designer, Dante was there in person. He would follow customers around like a sales clerk, explaining the material and comfort of the garments. He also listened to customer feedback with an open mind.
âThis batch of clothing designed by Mr. Burke has sold out both online and outside the store. Several customers have been unable to purchase them and have asked us to hold the clothes for them for when the next batch comes out.â
The sales clerk respectfully reported the dayâs sales to Hayden and asked, âMs. Downey, we should alert the manufacturer to increase production of this model, right?â
Hayden looked at Dante, who was still busy in the distance. She shook her head, âNo need, once the model is sold out, hang the sample there, but put up the sign that says the model is sold out.â
In fact, before opening the store, Hayden had talked to Dante about this situation. This time Dante, as head designer, would design a series of fall clothing in which the manufacturer would not mass produce the models. Only a limited number of pieces of each size of the clothing would be made, so by the time the models were sold in the store, they would likely be out of stock or missing sizes.
However, Dante said he expected such a situation to occur.
Green Lemon Clothing was a company whose market positioning was to be a light luxury brand. In terms of branding, the company could not compete with first- and second-tier foreign brands, while in terms of price and speed of new product introduction, the company could not compete with third-tier consumer goods companies. Therefore, the company could only start its brand by introducing limited edition models.
Every human being likes to have a special existence in this world and selling the model in limited quantities certainly captured the psychological needs of customers.
Dante was undoubtedly a master in clothing design, able to more accurately capture the hearts and minds of consumers, managing to maximize the commercial value of the garments in the market.
After a customer followed the clerk to checkout, Hayden simply walked up and greeted Dante.
Hayden asked him about the storeâs situation.
âPretty good. Just as I expected, but when this clothing series sells out, there are sure to be a lot of knockoffs of our models on the market. So youâll be busy then.â
Hayden smiled nonchalantly, âI may sue the company that imitates our models. The infringement money will be enough for us to develop a few online stores.â
âThose things donât matter to me.â Dante was still showing the same arrogant and cold look as before.
âIâm meeting with Alayna later, do you want to come?â.
âNo, I donât want to meet with her until she was feeling well.â Dante frowned, âWait a minute, I have something for her. Take it to her.â
After saying that, Dante went to the storeroom and came back with a bag in his hand.
âWhat is it?â
Hayden looked at the corner of white thread material left uncovered inside the bag and was a little curious.
Dante made a disgusted face.
âThe design work Alayna did for graduation â.
