The burns didn’t take long to recover from, and within a week, Hayden was able to walk on her own.

The ST Group’s resort development project had been delayed for some time, so after confirming that nothing was wrong with Hayden, Joseph rushed off on a business trip abroad.

“This project must be negotiated within three days. As soon as the plane lands, arrange a meeting with the team.” At the airport, Joseph gave Magnus an order that seemed impossible.

“Three days?” Magnus put on a surprised expression, “Mr. Beckham, time is not enough. They…”

“I don’t want to hear any excuses. Run the team on your own and keep negotiating with them. I’ll go back to N-Town directly as I have something to do.”

“Oh?” Magnus couldn’t believe what he had just heard. “This is about a project worth a few billion dollars. What else is more important than this matter?”.

“A personal matter.”

Joseph’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, tinged with a hint of resentment.

If he had heard the right news, the man named Edison would be coming to N City this week. There was no reason for Joseph not to go and meet this man, as he should know what the relationship between the man and Hayden was.

…

“Now all that remains is to wait for the ventilation. The ventilation here is good and the office equipment purchased is all second hand like what you required, so it won’t be long before we have this building ready to use.”

The captain of the renovation team met with Hayden personally and Hayden paid for the remainder of the work after checking the condition of the building. Hayden was thrilled to see the new two-story building.

The style of the building was the industrial style that Alayna had mentioned earlier. The walls were all smoky gray, dirt resistant and attractive. The first floor was to be used as an administrative office and the second floor as a design shop and clothing showroom.

Although the premises was not large, it was considered a place built jointly by her and Alayna.

When she thought of Alayna, she couldn’t help but call out to her, as expected she was answered by Kevin.

“How is Alayna?”

“She can recognize people now. She looked good, but she’s always sleepy. Yesterday a man was looking in the window for quite some time and I was afraid something might happen, so I asked someone to come and install a security window.”

Kevin’s condo was on the thirty-first floor, and the installer would think Kevin was crazy since no one would install a security window when you lived on such a high floor, since only Spiderman could climb through the window and steal something.

“Thank you very much.” Hayden sounded helpless, “If you really can’t stand watching her day and night, I suggest you take her to the hospital. Alayna once told me she would recover faster if she was hospitalized.”

“No need, I can keep an eye on her.” Kevin said firmly. He had made up his mind and refused to have her hospitalized.

Hayden couldn’t say anything else. It was better to have someone she knew take care of Alayna than someone else, not to mention she had seen the situation in psychiatric hospitals, all kinds of people were mixed in and she felt almost like a crazy person when she went in. She would not be calm if Alayna, who was already in such a critical period, stayed there.

“She slept much less today than yesterday. If you are free, you can come and see her. You’re always welcome.”

“At some point I will come. My company’s renovation is over and I’m going to share the news with her. If I have nothing else to do, I’ll come see her when it’s over.”

“Okay.”

After chatting for a while, she hung up the call.

Hayden couldn’t bear to talk to Kevin too much. If Alayna was still conscious, she would never have let herself be seen by Kevin while in that state, but unfortunately, Hayden wasn’t with her at the time. Hayden always thought it had been his negligence that had caused Kevin to be dragged into this mess.

On the other end of the phone, Kevin put it aside and looked into the room.

The curtains were closed and the light was dim. Alayna was already asleep.

The phone notification rang and a text message quickly popped up.

The message was from her sister.

“[Mom asked me to bring you something. I’m downstairs from your condo now].”

Kevin’s hand shook and he almost dropped the phone on the floor.

…

At the Beckham house, Stella had been playing with the LED light board in the backyard all afternoon.

Freddie’s concert was to be held in the evening at the stadium in N-Town. Stella had taken out two tickets for the VIP area in advance. She was a big Freddie fan and, of course, had to go to the concert to support him.

“Noah, are you really not going?”.

Stella fiddled with the light board on which was written ‘Freddie, chase your dream, Stella will always support you’, as she asked Noah, who looked disgruntled, “Noah, I have two tickets, are you sure you don’t want to go with me?”.

Noah looked at the LED light board in disgust and then shook his head with absolute certainty. He typed a line of words on his board and then pressed the voice button. The AI’s mechanical voice rang out across the courtyard.

“No way, the songs they sing aren’t any good. Besides, it’s too loud at a concert.”

Stella pouted and glared at Noah, “Don’t talk about my brother Freddie like that. I’m going to be mad.”

Noah got even more frustrated and typed a line of words quickly, “[I’m your brother. You should call Freddie uncle, not brother].”

“No no, he’s not. He’s my brother.” Stella was so furious that her little face turned red.

At that moment, an excited voice came from the direction of the other entrance to the yard.

“It’s Freddie’s light board!”.

Eleanor rushed through the patio door and ran into the courtyard. She pointed to the light board on the stone table and said excitedly, “This is Freddie’s light board. Are you guys going to Freddie’s concert, too?”

Eleanor had just started high school, but because of her previous malnutrition, her body size was still like that of an elementary school student who had not yet grown up. She looked very thin.

“Are you a Freddie fan, too?”

Stella glared at Eleanor whom she should call ‘Little Aunt’. But Stella didn’t interact with Eleanor very often.

“Yes.” Eleanor nodded her head very seriously, then said regretfully, “But the tickets sold out as soon as they came out and I couldn’t get one, so I can only see the concert outside the venue.”

“I have a ticket for you!”. Stella immediately held up the two tickets to show him, “Would you like to come with me?”

“Really?”

Eleanor took the two tickets as if they were treasures. She was so excited she didn’t know what to say, “Oh my God. These are the tickets to the area where we can interact with Freddie. We get to see Freddie up close.”

“It’s not just for the interactive area. You can also go backstage, as I have a close relationship with Freddie.”

Stella was so proud of herself that she didn’t notice that while the two were happily talking about the concert, Noah looked extremely angry behind them.

That was his cue! Stella had just promised to give him the ticket, how could she give it to someone else, just like that?

“I remember you, I remember you. You’re the one who participated in the travel program with Freddie.” Eleanor looked at Stella’s other one and only recognized her after a while, “Oh my god. I didn’t even notice you at the time, I was so focused on watching Freddie.”

Stella touched her head in embarrassment. “Hahaha…it’s in the past. Mark is coming to pick me up later, let’s go together.”

“It’s okay, it’s okay. I have a bunch of snacks, I’ll go get them and be right back.”

“I’ll come with you.”

Looking at the two cheerful backs of Eleanor and Stella, Noah couldn’t believe that Stella had been carried off by Eleanor so easily.
