For days following that day, Stella used the excuse of going out for ice cream to secretly meet Harrison at the coffee shop. She was able to pack a bag full of small gifts in her suitcase every time she returned.
As time went on, Hayden cleaned the house and was able to pull out a lot of unfamiliar toys. âWhen did you buy this mermaid bracelet?â.
Stella was playing with her new toy on the bed. Hearing this, she said without changing her expression, âIt was a gift I got when I bought ice cream.â
Hayden frowned. âAre there that many events at the ice cream parlor?â.
Despite hesitating, knowing that Stella was just a little girl in appearance, he wasnât worried about Stella doing anything wrong. These were just little toys and didnât really matter, so she didnât take it seriously.
âBy the way, Iâll take you to the nearest daycare this afternoon. Take your pick, your godmother asked me to find a school for you before the summer vacations, you shouldnât always stay at home, right?â.
If it wasnât that she had talked about it with her good friend, Alayna Cole two days ago, she would have actually forgotten that she had to make arrangements for Stella to go to school.
Stella nodded obediently, âOkay.â
Hayden took the opportunity that all the nearby elementary schools would be holding classes on Monday and took Stella to several nearby kindergartens to take a look at them. However, she was quite dissatisfied.
The main reason was Stellaâs asthma. Hayden was very concerned about the schoolâs medical facilities. However, ordinary local nurseries did not usually pay much attention to this aspect, most infirmaries did not even have a docent or nurse who knew how to infuse.
She would just ask some simple medical questions, but not many knew how to answer them. So, she was very worried.
âMommy, I want to eat Japanese food.â As they left the nursery, Stella tugged on Haydenâs sleeve and acted tender. This instantly dispelled Haydenâs worried mood.
âOkay, then letâs eat Japanese food today.â
Since it was Monday, there werenât many people at the Japanese restaurant.
After arriving, the waiter took them directly to a quiet spot by the window and from there, they could look out over the downtown traffic. After ordering their dishes, the mother and daughter looked at each other distractedly.
âMom, I really feel like you can go to work now.â
Stella looked at her with one hand resting on her chin, thinking to herself that hopefully her mother was a person in a favorable position to get special perks.
âWhat, I canât take two days off?â It was a rare opportunity for her to get paid without working. So she decided to wait until next week.
âMommy, you have to take advantage of the opportunity.â
âTake what opportunity?â.
âYour boss is handsome, rich and most importantly, single. In the company many women will be competing to chase him. If you donât make an effort, what can I do in the future?â.
âStella! What are you talking about?â Hayden glared at her and pinched her nose, âWhere did all these thoughts come from? Youâve never met my boss how do you know heâs handsome?â.
Stella dodged Haydenâs attack. And then, her eyes suddenly lit up, she stood up from her chair waving desperately at the people far away from them. âSir, over here, over here!â.
What, sir? Confused, Hayden looked in the direction Stella was facing. As soon as she saw them, her smile froze.
At the entrance of the Japanese restaurant, a tall figure was holding the hand of a small boy. Both people looked cold and on their handsome and immensely similar faces appeared the words âforbidden to approachâ.
They followed the direction from which the voice came and looked towards it.
Why were Joseph and his son, who was a fiery-tempered little boy, here?
Damn it, he had just recovered from his injuries and had finally managed to lounge around for a walk, how was it such a coincidence that she ran into him? More importantly, why did Stella know him?
What the hell was going on now?
