When Joseph came out of the restroom, he didn’t see Hayden in the break area. The receptionist had just changed shifts. No one had seen her even after asking several people.

“Maybe it’s too late and she’s come back alone.”

Addison naturally locked Joseph’s arm in hers and her whole body was almost leaning on Joseph’s arms. Her eyes even reddened slightly and she said in a muffled voice.

“Joseph, I’m a little tired. Take me home.”

The reception was right behind them. When several attendants at the reception saw this scene, they all showed a dumbfounded expression.

Such intimate posturing… What was going on, didn’t Mr. Beckham have a relationship with Ms. Downey? How come he was with the CEO of SG Group…?

Absentmindedly, Joseph glanced at the hotel entrance and vaguely sensed that something was wrong.

Even if there was an urgent matter, Hayden wasn’t the type of person who would leave first without informing him. Addison appeared to be drunk, however, as she leaned on his shoulder and didn’t move after closing her eyes. She frowned and could only ask the chauffeur to come over and send her home.

In the first-floor living room of a three-story villa in the western district, Addison tugged on one of Joseph’s hands. With a drunken look on her face, she raised her head and spoke haltingly.

“Joseph, regarding the matter I have said, it is not necessary for you to answer me immediately. I can wait.”

Joseph who was about to leave stopped his step. He looked at the person on the couch and brushed his hand off without hesitation, “Addison, you’ve had too much to drink.”

“I haven’t.” Addison demurred. Her hands hugged Joseph’s waist and her voice was like a cry.

“Joseph, I’m afraid, can you stay here to keep me company?”

Joseph let himself be hugged like that by her. His eyes looked indifferent. “I have called your older brother. He will come to accompany you.”

The hands holding him stiffened almost instantly. After a moment, the hands slowly withdrew.

Addison sat down on the couch as he dipped his head. Her curly bangs covered most of her face, but her disappointment showed. Joseph’s eyebrows furrowed slightly.

After a long moment, she lifted her head with a start and moaned in dissatisfaction.

“Joseph, you are so unexciting. I’m just teasing you, even if you don’t want to join me, you don’t have to tell my big brother. If my brother comes and knows I’ve been drinking, I’m sure he’ll scold me.”

Joseph’s furrowed brows relaxed.

After leaving Addison’s house, Joseph went back to Hayden’s apartment first. There was no sign that anyone had returned to the house. He still couldn’t get through on his phone. The butler at the Beckham Family mansion also said she had not gone there.

“Mr. Beckham, where are we going now?” Magnus gripped the steering wheel. The car had just left the neighborhood where Hayden lived.

“To Alayna’s.”

A deep, gravelly voice sounded from the back seat. Through the rearview mirror Joseph’s annoyed face was visible.

Addison Sanchez suddenly coming back was unexpected for him. It upset many of his plans.

Half an hour later…

“Hayden? You come to my house to pick up Hayden in the middle of the night? Are you kidding me?”. Alayna yawned and sat up on the couch, “Is it that you and Hayden had a fight?”

“He’s really not here?” Joseph stood in the living room as he looked around the cluttered apartment.

Finally, his suspicious gaze lingered on the door to the master bedroom.

“She’s really not here. It’s late already, can you let me rest? I have to get up early to move some things tomorrow morning. I’m not a little lord like you, hey…. What are you doing?”

Alayna got up from the couch, but she wasn’t able to stop Joseph who was already heading to the door of the master bedroom and opened the door.

The dim light refracted from the room. A familiar figure on the bed felt shocked and hurried to pull up the blanket and wrap herself in it. “Good grief Joseph, it’s not proper for you to barge into someone’s room without knocking…”.

Seeing the frightened look on Kevin’s face, Joseph was taken aback, “Hayden didn’t come in?”

Kevin covered his chest and wanted to laugh and cry at the same time, “What do you think?”.

Not long after, there was the sound of a door closing outside, along with Alayna’s voice saying. “Come out on your own two feet.”

Which echoed throughout the house for a long time.

Alayna interlocked her arms and glared at Kevin, “Your acting skills are a bit pompous, you can go now.”

“Indeed, you are throwing me down the stairs.”

“Stop talking nonsense, can’t you see I have something to do?”. As Alayna shouted to the balcony, “Hayden, he’s gone, come in.”

Kevin muttered as he lifted the blanket. He picked up his shirt from the floor and put it on.

The sound of the sliding door opening sounded from the balcony. Hayden walked in as he lowered his head. He said in a muffled voice. “Thank you.”

He had originally intended to go home, but when he thought about Joseph staying at his house lately, he simply came to Alayna’s house. When she arrived, she unexpectedly saw Kevin standing in the doorway. They still hadn’t reconciled, so he was forced to stand in the doorway.

“Thank you for what?” Alayna raised her eyebrows and pulled her to sit on the side of the bed. “Sit down before you talk, what’s wrong with you? You scared the hell out of me.”

“Needless to say, you had a fight with Joseph.” Kevin’s voice came from behind her and this made Alayna give him a dirty look.

“You’d die if you didn’t talk, wouldn’t you? If you talk nonsense again, get the hell out of here.”

Kevin immediately shut his mouth and stopped talking.

“Don’t listen to his nonsense.” Alayna tugged on Hayden’s hand, “What happened, tell me clearly so I can help you.”

Hayden lowered his head and his voice was a little muffled. “I saw Joseph hugging Addison.”

“Addison?” Alayna’s expression changed. She almost bounced from the head of the bed, “The CEO of SG Group, the one you’d told me about earlier?”

Hayden nodded and her mind was boggled. He didn’t know what she was talking about, as his mind was filled with the image of the two people hugging.

“Damn, it’s true that trustworthy men are as rare as flying pigs!”. Alayna clenched her fists and a distinct crunch of bones sounded.

“Violet’s affair in the past hasn’t calmed down yet and now a person named Addison appears. It was a false claim about his personality that he doesn’t like women, one woman approaches him one after another. Don’t they know he has a girlfriend? They’re too brazen.”

“It should be his ex-girlfriend.”

Hayden looked grim and interrupted Alayna.

If she hadn’t overheard Addison talking about past affairs between her and Joseph, she wouldn’t have been suddenly taken aback and even run off without mentally preparing herself.

It had always seemed to her that Joseph was a determined and cold person, who also treated women that way. She had not seen him treat Violet, who had been with him for several years as his false fiancée, well. But today, at the washroom door, she saw him look at Addison with a look of total tolerance.

And the necklace. If she hadn’t heard wrong, the necklace he’d taken from her in the past was originally his token of love.

Alayna froze for a few seconds before she regained her presence of mind, “He has an ex-girlfriend?”

“…”.

“Kevin, didn’t you tell me Joseph’s love record was clean?”.

Kevin’s face was grim. “Didn’t you ask me not to talk – can I keep quiet about this part too?”.

“What do you think?” Alayna clenched her fists and threatened, “So you know about the affair between Addison and Joseph, do you?”

“How could I possibly not know? Three of us grew up together .”.
