Chapter 147

The CEO’s little ones1,379 words~7 min read

“What’s wrong?”

Joseph adopted a frightened expression and Hayden didn’t know why.

After taking the earring out of the jewelry box for quite a while, Joseph seemed to have confirmed something. He went to the studio across the street and pulled out an aged black and white photo. It looked old because the corners of the photo were yellowed.

The photo was of a young woman in a cheongsam, about eighteen or nineteen years old. She was an indifferent looking beauty. She wore a gold necklace around her neck with two different sizes of jade. Although the jades were old, you could still clearly see their smooth outline.

“This is it?” Hayden was a little puzzled.

Joseph compared the earrings and put the photo down.

gαℓησν𝒆𝓁s․com is your fiction sanctuary “This was my grandmother. The necklace she wore around her neck was an heirloom from her family. It had two jade inlays, one large and one small. Later, they got caught up in the war and the military took the Beckham mansion. The Beckham Family had changed, so he sold the smaller jade to subsidize his household expenses.”

“The smaller one?” Hayden’s eyes fell on the pendant in his hand. The outline of the inlaid jade was very similar to the jade in the photo, “Is this the one?”

Joseph nodded.

No one had expected that jade to travel all the way to Jennifer’s hands.

Now, it was back in Hayden’s hands.

“And the other one?” She asked hurriedly.

When she mentioned this, Joseph frowned.

“Grandfather gave me the remaining jade. I made it into a necklace, but unfortunately I lost it six years ago.”

Hayden was stunned. He couldn’t help but clench his fist tightly, his face looking a little nervous.

The necklace she was referring to must have been the one Hayden had ripped off her neck that day.

“What’s the matter with you, what are you thinking about?”

Joseph’s voice snapped her out of her thoughts. She distanced herself as she absently said, “Nothing, I was just quite surprised. I didn’t expect this earring to have anything to do with the Beckham Family.”

“Maybe it’s fate.” Joseph’s eyes were warm and it was the first time he had spoken of fate, which was previously not worthy of mention on his part.

Hayden was in a very complicated mood. After saying goodbye to Mr. Beckham, he was still thinking about the necklace when he took his children home.

After all, it was true that fate liked to play tricks on people. The existence of that necklace would always remind her of what had happened six years earlier, reminding her that she was hiding her identity from Joseph. At first it was a clue to finding her son, but now it had become a difficult problem to solve.

When she moved out, she put the earrings and necklace in a safety locker. When she closed it, it was as if she had locked all the memories she didn’t want to remember in it for a while and sighed heavily.

“You two will live here from now on, do you like it?”.

He spent a whole afternoon tidying up the house before picking up the two little ones from Alayna’s house.

Stella was very excited. She opened all the doors in the house and looked around, “Wow, this is beautiful. It’s so much bigger than my room at Aunt Alayna’s house. I really like my room.”

“It was your grandmother who decorated it for you.”

Hayden followed her and looked at the beautifully decorated dolls in the room. She felt very warm.

Her aunt told her that this house had always been empty and no one had ever bothered to take care of it. But after she arrived, the house was fully furnished and simple everyday necessities had been added. Even Stella’s room was painted pink and filled with children’s toys. The clothes in her closet were all new.

“Noah, this is your room.” Hayden opened a door and motioned to Noah, “Come take a look.”

Noah nodded obediently and walked over. He stood in the doorway of the room and looked at it for a while. Like his father, he couldn’t see if he liked it or not.

“Do you like it?” Hayden took the initiative to ask, “The decor is pretty plain. Grandma probably didn’t know you were going to live here, so I’ll come back and decorate your room in the future, so you can tell me what you like.”

Noah ran back to the couch and grabbed his little drawing board. He looked down and wrote a few words on it. Then he held it up, “[Anything is fine as long as I stay with you and Stella].”

When Hayden saw this, he suddenly felt a little sad. He bent down and hugged him.

The doorbell suddenly rang.

“Ding-dong!” Someone shouted outside the door, “Hayden, open the door quick. My hands almost broke, I brought stew too.”

Stella poked her head out of the room and shouted for joy. “Godmother!”

Then she ran for the door.

Alayna carried large and small bags of ingredients into the house. As she entered she deliberately teased her, “It’s a good place, isn’t it? No wonder you’re in such a hurry to move out of my little house.”

Hayden raised his eyebrows, “How about this? I’ll trade you my house for yours. I’m already used to living in your house. Since yours is mine, mine would be yours too.”

Hearing that, Alayna laughed satisfactorily. “With these words from you, I will personally cook tonight to congratulate you on your housewarming.”

If Alayna were to cook, it would be normal for her to burn down the kitchen. Fortunately, she was aware of her own abilities and brought everything needed for a stew instead. However, there was one problem:

“I don’t have a pot for that.” Hayden shrugged and felt a little helpless.

“How is this a problem? Wait.” Alayna turned on her phone to call someone and raised her eyebrows looking at Hayden.

The call connected quickly.

“Hayden has moved into a new house, so he asked me to call you. Come here for dinner if you’re free tonight.”

“…”.

“Okay, come quickly then, and buy some stew pots on the way.”

“…”.

“It’s not that much trouble. We don’t need anything else, I’ve already bought everything.” Alayna suddenly raised her voice, “Hayden, what else are we missing?”

Hayden was suddenly mentioned, so she answered staunchly, “The pot.”

“Oh, did you hear that? Hayden said we still need a pot.”

“…”.

After hanging up the call, Alayna sat down on the couch, “All settled.”

Hayden tugged at the corner of his lips, “Why do I feel like you’re using me to do something bad to a good person?”.

“A good person?” Alayna pursed her lips, “Kevin is a liar. He has nothing to do with a good person at all.”

“Well, that’s true too.”

Hayden nodded his head as he agreed with her. The guilt in his heart dissipated in an instant. Then, he asked Alayna to call Kevin back to bring Benjamin.

Half an hour later, Kevin arrived with a pot and Benjamin.

As soon as Benjamin arrived, he handed everything directly to him and went to the kitchen to help. Alayna also sent Kevin into the kitchen to help. The two women lay on the couch chatting while eating pieces of cantaloupe.

When Alayna thought about Benjamin’s classist and indifferent attitude that day, she spat out the melon rind, “Why do I get the feeling that this kid has become someone else? Wasn’t he acting like a silly kid when he woke up in the hospital?”

“Really?” As far as judging people, Hayden was a bit of a simpleton. She didn’t realize something was wrong, “Maybe he has some thoughts in his mind that bother him. Why, what’s wrong? Do you sense something wrong with him?”

Alayna raised her eyebrows and looked towards the kitchen with a meaningful look, “No, I mean now this boy looks much more handsome than before. How old is he, is he already twenty years old?”.

“Don’t tell me you’ve fallen in love with him.” Hayden looked wary .
