“Yes.” Hayden nodded, “Stella, this is your great aunt.”

“Stella…” Scarlett repeated Stella’s name and glared at Hayden, “What great aunt, are you calling me old?”.

“What should I call you Stella then?”. Hayden felt uncomfortable.

Scarlett had left quite an impression on Hayden as a child. Her aunt was always mean, as far as Hayden could remember. Hayden was afraid of her growing up, if it wasn’t for Hayden’s grandfather, Hayden would have been scared to death every time she met her aunt.

“It’s okay, it doesn’t matter.”

gαℓησν𝒆𝓁s․com is your gateway to fiction Stella quickly greeted Scarlett, “Good morning, great aunt.”

The cold expression on Scarlett’s face turned warm. She beckoned to Stella and said, “Come closer and let me take a good look at you. I’m getting old, I don’t see things so clearly now.”

Stella asked Hayden for permission, then approached Scarlett after Hayden agreed. She lifted her head and asked, “Is it close enough for you, Great Aunt?”

Scarlett smiled, “You’re not afraid of me?”

“Why should I be afraid of you? You’re not a monster or a caterpillar.”

“Because children used to be afraid of me.”

“Really?” Stella opened her eyes as if she had heard something impossible. Then she replied in a serious tone, “Then they get scared too easily. Parents shouldn’t let them act like that. How would they be able to protect their family in the future?”

“You should go train them then.” Scarlett laughed heartily.

Hayden had never seen his aunt laugh like that.

Scarlett patted Stella’s hand after a while, then stood up and looked at Hayden. “Look at her attitude, do you want to give it to me?”.

Hayden didn’t understand, “What do you mean?”

“I know you gave birth to Stella overseas behind the Downey Family’s back. They won’t recognize her anyway. I don’t want to know what happened to her father, but it’s not good for you for her to stay with you. How would you marry her? I don’t want your mother to blame me when we meet in heaven.”

Scarlett was direct, but what she said had scared Stella until she hid behind Hayden, “I don’t want to be away from Mom. Mom’s boyfriend really liked her, and I like him too. You don’t have to worry about Mommy’s marriage.”

Scarlett glanced at Stella and continued, “I’ve heard about you and Joseph. He has a son too, if you didn’t have a daughter, I wouldn’t agree with your relationship with him at all. But since these are facts we can’t change, you have to think it through. The Beckham Family is not as simple as you think, you’d better make up your mind after I have researched his family background.”

Hayden pursed his lips and listened to his aunt’s advice. She never thought to refute anything. She was still terrified of the impression it made on her in her childhood.

A man and a boy were walking near the entrance to the cemetery during their conversation. Managing to hear the second half of what Scarlett said. They stopped, “Ask me anything you want to know. You don’t need to do any research.”

Hayden was stunned. Watching Joseph and Noah as they neared the entrance to the cemetery.

Noah let go of Joseph’s hand and ran to Hayden when he saw her. Then he started playing with Stella.

Scarlett turned around and stood in front of Hayden. She appraised Joseph without emotion, “Are you the head of the ST Group, Joseph Beckham?”.

It was rare to see people who didn’t see him as an important person. However, there were a lot of people like that when he was with Hayden.

“Yes. Who are you?”

“You don’t need to know who I am. I heard what you just said. Are you saying you want to marry Hayden?”

Hayden bristled at hearing her aunt’s question. Stunned, she looked at Joseph.
