âWeâve arrived. Now we are looking for a place to park. Donât worry about us. Get ready for your concert later.â
âHayden, thereâs an empty spot!â. Benjamin stopped Hayden.
âWhere?â Hayden quickly drove in the direction where Benjamin pointed, âFreddie, weâll talk later. Iâll call your assistant after I park the car.â
âOkay.â Freddie replied.
After parking the car, Benjamin took Stella by the hand and they followed Hayden. They headed backstage where they saw Freddieâs assistant waiting for them at the entrance.
Freddieâs assistant breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of Hayden. He quickly ushered Hayden into the dressing room as he explained, âYouâre finally here, Hayden. Freddie has been rushing me to wait for you here since the afternoon. He was worried you wouldnât find your way.â
Hayden felt resigned.
âHeâs impossible. Freddieâs too worried, itâs his first concert and he shouldnât worry about anything but that. I wonât dare come again if he keeps acting like that.â
Two teams rushed past Hayden with props as Hayden spoke. The standing microphone almost hit him in the face. But luckily, Benjamin reacted quickly and pushed Hayden away.
âWhat are you guys doing? Be careful. You canât afford to damage either our props or our guest.â
âItâs okay.â Hayden tried to mediate.
People were busy with preparations for the concert. Better not to trigger any disputes.
However, Hayden was worried about Stella. As he was about to turn and ask Benjamin to look after Stella, he saw that Benjamin had already carried Stella and was carefully protecting her in his arms.
Hayden was stunned, she still remembered what he looked like when she first met him. When Benjamin woke up in the hospital after the accident, he looked innocent, scared and confused. Hayden was the only person she could trust.
Hayden couldnât remember from when Benjamin had become an adult, even when he hadnât regained his memory.
Maybe he was like that before the accident. Hayden canât help but wonder what kind of environment Benjamin was in that made him so mature.
âThere are too many people here. Iâll take Stella somewhere less crowdedâ¦â. Hayden woke up from his thoughts when Benjamin spoke to him.
âSure.â Hayden nodded, âYou should take Stella first, Iâll follow after I talk to Freddie. Itâs almost time.â
Freddieâs assistant nodded and looked at his phone, âYeah, itâs almost time. The concert starts in about ten minutes.â
Benjamin led Stella into the auditorium and sat down in front of the stage as Hayden walked into the dressing room with Freddieâs assistant.
âWhereâs Freddie?â After looking around, all Hayden saw were Freddieâs stylists, makeup artists and his manager. Freddie was not in the room.
âFreddie went to the bathroom. He should be back soon.â Freddieâs manager replied. He smiled warmly when he saw Hayden, âHi, Hayden! Come, sit down, whereâs Stella?â.
âThere are too many people here and I was worried she might create problems for the team. Iâve sent her to the auditorium.â
The team in charge of Freddieâs itinerary was familiar with Hayden. Freddieâs manager and assistant were with him when he shot the program that was launched thanks to the hotel. The team really likes Stella.
Although Joseph said he didnât like Freddie, he provided him with top-notch equipment and allocated a considerable amount of advertising money. It had only been a few months since Freddieâs debut on a television show. But tickets for his solo concert had already sold out.
Hayden was impressed by Freddieâs accomplishments. He had almost forgotten what had happened this afternoon.
âIâm sorry, miss. You canât come inâ¦â
âWhat are you talking about, donât you know who I am?â.
A scuffle ensued, drawing the attention of those present in the dressing room.
The door opened and a huge bouquet of pink flowers entered the room. The person holding it hid behind it and said in a flirtatious tone, âSurprise! Congratulations on your first concert, Freddie.â
âWho is this woman?â Freddieâs manager frowned, âIs she a fan? Who let her in?â.
The security guard was nervous, âShe came in when I wasnât paying attention. She said she was Freddieâs sister, there wasnât much we could do.â
âSister?â Freddieâs manager got angry, âFreddieâs sister is sitting here, who is this woman? Get rid of her.â
âHayden?â The woman showed her face when she heard what Freddieâs rep said. Her face turned red when she saw Hayden, âWhy are you here?â.
Freddieâs representative was stunned. He asked hesitantly, âDo you know her, Hayden?â.
Hayden was slowly enjoying his cup of tea. He smiled at Freddieâs repâs question, âSort of.â
Hayden recognized Chelseaâs flirtatious voice when she walked in. He got goose bumps as soon as he heard her voice. Hayden didnât scream because he wanted to see how brazen Chelsea was to come backstage without Freddieâs invitation.
âKind of? How rude.â Chelsea set the bouquet down on the couch and looked around. She glared at Hayden after confirming that Freddie wasnât in the room, âHave you been gone too long? Donât you recognize your own family? You have no heart, I dare you to tell father this when you ask him for the house.â
Those in the dressing room immediately understood who Chelsea was after overhearing their conversation. People began to whisper.
âThatâs something else.â Replied Hayden calmly, âYou came into the room so rudely. I dare not say I know you, lest I embarrass Freddie.â
âYouâ¦â Chelseaâs face was blue. She sneered, âI came to support Freddie, I grew up with him, how could that be embarrassing, how about you? You went abroad without getting married and came back with a daughter, a little disgrace who doesnât know who her father is. Do you think this is another Cinderella story now that youâre with the ST Group Director? What are you proud of? Youâre nothing but a stepmother to someone elseâs child.â
Hayden clenched his fists.
He hated people who spoke ill of his daughter. Luckily Stella wasnât here, otherwise she might tear Chelsea to shreds.
âMy personal experiences have nothing to do with me being here supporting my brother, do they? Sis?â It sounded like she meant something else when Hayden emphasized the term âsister,â âBut sis, do you think people donât know how you feel about Freddie? Wonât your boyfriend get jealous when he finds out you came here to support Freddie like this?â
Chelseaâs face turned green, âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â.
How was he supposed to know what was going on in her house?
