Hayden’s face flushed as she said, “I…didn’t think so.”

Joseph smiled and stared at her, “Really? You don’t look like it.”

Hayden looked wary and was obviously mulling something over. When she saw him staring at her, she quickly lowered her head and looked down at herself, hesitated and lowered her hands, and asked, “Regardless of how I think, what are your intentions in bringing me here? I can apologize for what happened a moment ago, but you must open the door and let me out.”

Joseph didn’t look like he was going to budge. He simply turned away and leaned back against the pillow on the edge of the tub. He lowered his voice as he spoke through the steam, “I’m not interested in empty apologies.”

Hayden stirred, “What the hell do you want from me?”

“Come here.” The two simple words echoed through the bathroom.

Hayden stayed in place and didn’t move, but pinned his gaze on Joseph’s back and said, “You…. You’ve got to be kidding me!”

“You can treat it as a joke if you waste your time here with me.”

“You…” He looked at Joseph’s back and almost wanted to push him into the water.

How could there be a man so petty and shameless, yet consummate? He just made a simple joke. Should he hold such a grudge and then take revenge like that? It was ridiculous.

After much hesitation, Hayden gritted his teeth and stepped to the edge of the tub. She literally used her nose to snub her nose at the words, “How do you want me to scrub you?”

Joseph lifted his head and looked at her, “Gently.”

Isn’t it obvious? Hayden rolled her eyes and didn’t bother to ask him. She took a small towel to rub him superficially under the water and then scrubbed his shoulders.

“Done.”

Joseph avoided her eyes, brushed her hand and said, “You can go.”

“What’s wrong with you?” Hayden frowned.

“Go.” Joseph withdrew his hand and frowned.

Hayden came to and didn’t answer him. He clutched at the tub and wanted to get up and leave. But he wasn’t paying attention, and as he turned, he stepped in some soap suds, slipped and fell.

Hayden’s scream echoed in the small room. She struggled in horror for a while and swallowed water in mouthfuls. She steadied herself and coughed loudly. When she opened her eyes, she suddenly stopped coughing as the water continued to ripple over the tub and flood the bathroom.
