A 6’3″ young man approached from across the aisle as spectators gave way to him. He looked young, but gave off the seriousness of a middle-aged man.

Hayden was stunned and came to his senses. He grabbed him and said quietly, “Why are you here?”

Benjamin looked at Hayden as he reassured her by patting the back of her hand and said, “I’m here to see a thief accusing others of theft. You just had to accuse a pitiful young lady of theft, if this matter were exposed to the press, I’m sure the entertainment industry wouldn’t hire you anymore, Miss Lopez.”

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Madison’s face began to pale, “Who the hell are you, isn’t there anyone else at the ST Hotel?”

“It’s not important who I am. What is important is Miss Lopez you kept saying that Lillian stole your necklace. What made you so sure that it was Lillian who stole it?”.

“The security camera showed that she came into my room at ten o’clock at night.”

Step into fiction with galnovels . com “So you should have been in your room when Lillian came into yours.”

Everyone exchanged glances upon hearing this. When the film crew checked into the hotel, everyone knew that this crew was in the habit of meeting around ten o’clock at night to discuss the script. At that hour, the actors’ room was supposed to be empty. So it was strange that Lillian ran out looking terrified after entering Madison’s room.

“What do you mean I was in the room? I only went back to my room at eleven.” Madison’s expression changed and she accused, “You should find a better means of covering this up.”

“Better means?” Benjamin scoffed as his handsome face filled with contempt. “This is what I wanted to tell you, Miss Lopez. You should find a better means if you want to have a secret relationship with a man. Don’t think you can take advantage of communicating balconies to sneak around. Then, when you were found out, you started accusing the person to hide your guilt.”

There was a roar when this was said.

Madison and a man?

Hayden came to himself as if realizing something. There was a disagreement between Violet and Madison and she heard the exchange as she passed through the room. Violet was saying that Madison was unprofessional, as soon as they started the meeting about the script, she would suddenly disappear.

When Benjamin said this, she finally thought about it. She must have slipped away during the meeting, since all the balconies were connected. As to where she slipped away and what for, that was also clear now.

Madison was pale now and said anxiously, “What nonsense are you talking? You must be responsible for your words. Beware of my suing you for slander.”

“There’s no hurry to sue me. I’m bored and have nothing to do, I asked the film crew and your movement was quite strange. During the period when your necklace disappeared, you were not with the other actors in the director’s room discussing the script. What was even stranger was that the producer wasn’t there either.”

When the word ‘Producer’ was said, the shock became even greater. Everyone looked at Madison dumbfounded and were filled with disdain and disgust.

The producer was a well-known actor who had retired and was working behind the scenes. He was already married and so he was having an affair with Madison.

“You…shut your mouth.” Madison’s face turned blue and pale.

“Which was even stranger.” Smiled Benjamin, “Is that the information from the hotel showed that, around nine o’clock, the water in her bathtub had been running continuously.”

More and more information was being revealed, much more substantial than Madison’s verbal accusations that Lillian had stolen her necklace. Someone had already begun secretly filming the scene.

Hayden looked at the entire hotel staff and frowned, “Put all your phones away and stop all recording.”

Everyone dutifully put away their telephotos.

Hayden looked at the deflated Madison and asked, “Ms. Lopez, may we speak privately?”

Madison gritted her teeth and reluctantly agreed.

“Miss Downey, I won’t humor you since things are already settled.” Benjamin returned to his innocent and harmless manner. His boyish appearance was totally different from his detective manners of a moment ago.

Hayden was puzzled, but didn’t question him since she had to settle the Madison matter and nodded. “You don’t need to leave. Thank you for this.”

“Don’t worry, I’m just helping. Go on, off you go. I’ll explain to Lillian what happened.”

“Okay.” Hayden replied and left.

After Hayden left, several hotel employees and Benjamin lingered in the hallway. They were waitresses and the companions of Lillian who ran happily to Benjamin’s side.

“You’re so smart, how did you figure all this out?”.

“Madison’s expression changed so drastically! I had already realized there was something going on between her and the producer. You are so smart to have thought of this!”.

“…”.

The three or five young women looked at Benjamin with admiration. They practically considered him an expert investigator.

A tall, slender figure stood in the corner of the hallway for a long time and looked at Benjamin with cold apprehension.

The situation became easier to handle since the truth was discovered. Hayden and Madison talked openly since the whole incident was personally caused by Madison. After Lillian saw her in the room with the producer, Madison was afraid that the incident would leak out. That’s why she wanted to blame Lillian for a robbery, firstly, to kick her out of the hotel and secondly, to blame her if this incident ever came to light.

Hayden was outraged when he discovered the truth of the matter.

“Ms. Lopez, are you aware that your accusations almost cost someone their life?”

Madison’s expression was expressionless as she said without remorse, “I didn’t expect you to attempt suicide. Now that the matter has come to this point, I…I’m going to name my price. How much will it cost to silence your hotel staff?”

Hayden, dumbfounded, replied, “You think money can solve everything?”

“What else then?” Madison began to flare up again, “I’ve already said I’ll compensate you with money, so what more do you want? Regardless of that, if today’s incident spreads on the Internet I will hold your hotel responsible and sue you for all my losses.”

Seeing that her attitude showed no remorse, Hayden clenched his fists, took a deep breath and said coldly to Madison, “I’m afraid that as soon as this spreads on the Internet you will be so busy with reporters and even have to deal with the producer’s wife that you won’t have time to sue our hotel.”

Madison’s face paled instantly.
