Chapter 377
My head buzzed for a moment and my mind went blank.
Although Frank seemed disorganized, he was actually very measured and strategic in everything he did. The fact that Megan was in a panic meant that it was likely a major issue.
I quickly turned around and looked at Jane, who had followed me out and looked anxious. âJane, what happened? You know, do you?â
Her behavior had been off when she entered my office earlier. Now it seemed clear she was hiding the news about Frank.
âCharlotteâ¦â
Jane licked her lips, looking uncertain about whether she should speak.
The more hesitant she was, the more scared I became.
I grabbed her arm. âTell me, Jane, Iâm begging you, please tell meâ¦â
She was still hesitating.
I knew she was afraid I wouldnât be able to handle it.
âIf you donât tell me, Iâll ask someone else.â I picked up my phone and started dialing as I headed outside. âIf no one tells me, Iâll go to Jeswood myself to find out.â
Megan didnât answer the phone.
I tried calling Flint.
No one answered.
I frantically pressed the elevator button, but just as the elevator doors were about to open, I saw the elegant figure of Ryan.
He took two large strides toward me and spoke softly, âWhere are you going in such a hurry?â
âRyan.â I put my phone away and stared at him intently. âWhat happened to Frank?â
× ×!
He smiled wryly and said, âWhat could have happened to him?
some baseless rumors?â
âGive me your phone.â I reached out for his phone.
The chances were high that Jane had deleted something from my phone.
But if something had really happened to Frank, Ryan would likely have
received news as well.
Ryan smiled naturally and handed me his phone with a doting expression. Why are you so suspicious?â
He seemed like the perfect husband willing to cooperate with a phone check.
I looked at him. âPassword.â
âOur wedding anniversary.â
I looked down, entered the date, and unlocked the phone. I searched through it thoroughly but found no news about Frank being in trouble.
Instead, there was a live video.
The live broadcast showed Frank in casual attire, which was out of place for the conference, answering reportersâ questions leisurely. His demeanor was relaxed but gave off a sense of distance. His voice was lowered and calm, making it hard for anyone to question his every word.
Ryan, without his usual sarcasm, asked gently, âAre you relieved now?â
âYes.â
I returned the phone to him. Jane, having finished dealing with the companyâs affairs, rushed out, glanced at Ryan, and then looked at me helplessly. âSee, I told you there was nothing to worry about. Frank is too fortunate to get into any real trouble.â
Ryanâs gaze was warm. âDo you want to continue working or goâhome?â
âI still have work to do.â
After finishing the private orders in Jeswood last week, the clients were

satisfied, and some immediately placed new orders. They also referred us to many others.
Whether it was online sales or private customizations, the Charlotte Jewelryâs progress was much faster than we expected.
It seemed like a blessing.
Ryan put his arm around my shoulders and returned to the office, casually sitting on the sofa. âYou go ahead and work. Iâll wait for you to finish.â
I felt somewhat uncomfortable and replied coldly, âShouldnât you be busy with the RF Groupâs and the Frost familyâs matters?â
âWith them keeping an eye on things, nothing will go wrong,â Ryan wasnât bothered by my coldness and explained earnestly.
At RF Group, besides lan, there was also Mr. Wilde.
