Chapter 357
Frank quickly caught Madam Shaw and said to the butler, âFlint, do we have an ambulance?â
âYes, itâs already at the gate.â
Flint had already called the medical team when he saw Madam Shaw spitting blood. They were initially prepared for any emergencies concerning âLilyâ.
Unexpectedly, it was now put to use.
Madam Shaw was taken to the ambulance, and I rode in Frankâs car to the hospital.
By the time we arrived, Madam Shaw had already been taken into the emergency room.
My emotions were complex. I wanted to cry but couldnât. More than anything, I felt panic and fear.
The sound of hurried footsteps approached.
Members of the Shaw family had also arrived.
Bethany rushed over and forcefully shoved me aside, her face filled with hatred.
âCharlotte, what more do you want to do? Youâre just a disaster!â
I steadied myself and looked at her coldly, âItâs my grandmother whoâs in trouble. What I do is none of your business.â
Perhaps I had hesitated before, but at this moment, I had no time for doubts and only wanted to know the condition of my grandmother.
âGrandma?â
Bethanyâs face lit up with a smile. âYouâre so bold! There are problems with the identification done at the Smith familyâs hospital. Just based on a foreign report, you think you can be part of the Shaw family?â
I frowned. âWhat are you trying to say?â
âFrank is biased towards you. Who knows if the samples sent overseas were really yours or someone elseâs,â said Bethany.
âBethany has a point.â
Madam Shaw, who was strongly opposed to my presence, was adamant about not acknowledging me.â Ms. Wilson, youâre an outsider. Youâd better clarify your identity.â
It felt as though I was not her daughter but rather the child of her enemy.
I almost instinctively looked at Mr. Shaw and bit my lip âMr. Shaw⦠Is this what you think as well?â
Shawâs expression was heavy. Just as he was about to speak, Mrs. Shaw took his arm. âDarling, you should have thought it through too. When Lilly went missing, the situation was so complicated. How could she be found? Now, after discovering one fake, are we really bringing home another fake?â
For some unknown reason, Mr. Shawâs eyes darkened. He then looked at me distantly. âMs. Wilson, please understand. We need to be cautious!â

Chapter 357
Frank suppressed the scrutiny in his eyes. As I was about to speak, he put his arm around my shoulder and said gently. âLetâs first see how Grandma is doing.â
These words seemed to be a definitive statement.
Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Shaw said no more, but Bethany was displeased. âDo you mean she will stay here? If it werenât for her, Grandma might not have had an accident at all!â
âWhat was bound to happen would happen sooner or later.â
Frank responded nonchalantly, then looked at her with a hint of disdain, âSince youâre so sure sheâs not Lily, why are you so eager to drive her away?â
Bethany flinched and retorted angrily, âWhoâs in a hurry?â
âEnough!â Mrs. Shaw, fearing that Bethany might confront Frank and get nowhere, said, âBethany, stop arguing. Wait until your grandmother comes out of the emergency room. The one who should leave will naturally leave!â
I clenched my hands, feeling Frankâs grip on my shoulder tighten slightly.
It seemed to be a silent hint, telling me to stay calm.
Thinking about Grandma still being inside with her state uncertain, I was quite anxious.
Frank had mentioned that Grandmaâs health was poor
But spitting blood was something elseâ¦
It should be a sign of a very serious condition.
Grandma usually appeared vigorous and not like someone severely ill.
The minutes felt even more torturous than waiting for the paternity test report.
After about an hour, the door to the emergency room finally opened.
