Chapter 346
Chapter 346
Ryan glanced at Jane, hinting, âDonât you think itâs a bit too bright here?â
Jane was carefully applying ointment to me. âI donât think so. The brightness is just right.â
âRyan.â I looked at him. âYou should leave.â
âI should leave?â
Ryan cast a glance outside, his eyes darkening. âAre you planning to go be a portable blood bag for someone else?â
I understood what he meant. Although the Smith family had clarity, Mrs. Shaw and Bethany were crazed beyond reason. They saw me as a thorn and would seize any opportunity to tear me apart.
Ryan remained calm and collected, pulling up a chair by the bed and crossing his long legs. âDo you want
some water?â
âYouâre sitting with your legs crossed now. Who would dare ask for water?â Jane, who was already
displeased with him, seized the opportunity to make sarcastic comments.
Ryan smiled. âArenât you here too?â
âYou deserve to be divorced.â Jane smiled and poured a glass of water for me.
After the IV was done, it wasnât too late yet. I wasnât itching as much anymore.
When I walked out of the hospital, I intended to part ways with Ryan and take a taxi back to the hotel.
But he grabbed me firmly, his tone was domineering. âIâll take you back.â
âNo needâ¦â
Before I could finish, he took off his coat and draped it over me, then bent down and lifted me onto is
shoulder, head down.
âYou have a slight fever. If youâre exposed to the night breeze, itâll make it worse.â
Jane stared in shock and whispered to lan, âWhat kind of drama is your boss acting out?â
He stuffed me into the car.
Jane took the front seat, and lan drove.
I was somewhat irritated. Peopleâs true nature never changed. Especially after tearing away the facade of superficial harmony, his inherent arrogance, autocracy, and dominance surfaced bit by bit.
Maybe even today, I hadnât seen his true colors.
The next day, Jane was on the phone with various people, taking notes as she inquired.
The calls she made to the wealthy women from last night were all for customized orders. We needed to schedule appointments, discuss preferences, and styles.
Although they were making orders due to recommendation by Madam Shaw and Madam Smith, we still needed to build our own reputation.

Chapter 346
I poured a glass of water to take my medicine when the doorbell rang.
It was Megan.
âCharlotte, I heard you had a serious allergic reaction last night. How are you now?â
âIâm fine.â
As I opened the door to let her in, I was slightly surprised when I saw Jack with her. âJack, why are you
here too?â
âWhy do you ask?â Jack pretended to be displeased. âYou had such a severe allergic reaction and didnât tell me. Are you really okay now?â
âMuch better.â I smiled and let them in.
The room was an executive suite with a living room outside the bedroom.
âWhat kind of allergy is it?â Megan asked with concern.
I knew what I was allergic to, so I hadnât mentioned it to the doctor yesterday and just said it was a reaction to some food I had accidentally eaten.
I touched the rashes that hadnât completely subsided. âItâs a food allergy. I probably ate something with yam in it by mistake.â
âYam? Youâre allergic to yam?â Meganâs eyes widened in surprise, as if she had discovered something
serious.
I nodded. âYes, why?â
Megan shook her head. âNothing, nothing.â
âStill havenât taken your medicine?â
Jack saw the medicine on the table that I hadnât taken yet and urged me helplessly. âTake the medicine
first.â
âOkay.â
Just as I swallowed the medicine and was about to drink some water, Jack suddenly asked, âWho are you
texting?â
âMy brother. Iâm updating him on Charlotteâs condition.
Megan didnât think much of it and continued typing on her phone. âHe and my dad argued all night. Now heâs at home, and my grandpa is giving him a hard time.â
âYou told your brother that Charlotte is allergic to yam?â
âYes,â Megan seemed puzzled. âIsnât it okay to tell him that?â
