As I adjusted my pillow and was about to turn off the light, the phone on the bedside table buzzed.

I frowned and answered the call. “Hello?”

“Oh.” I got up, grabbed a long down coat, and went outside while putting it on.

As I was zipping up the coat, I unexpectedly bumped into a hard chest. I staggered back and looked up abruptly!

There was a faint smell of alcohol on him.

He seemed awkward for once. “They packed food for their girlfriends, and the server made a mistake with the order, so you get a freebie.”

I was tempted to be impulsive but was driven to calm down by reason. “Are you so sure that there won’t be any news from her in the next two days?”

His phone rang almost immediately.
