Chapter 266
As I looked out the car window, there was a moment when it felt like tears were streaming down, yet my face was clean and dry.
Even my vision was remarkably clear.
Just as I got home, the real estate agent suddenly called to tell me that a buyer had decided to purchase the apartment at the Lake Garden.
And they were generous, not negotiating the price at all.
I was asked to go over and meet with the buyer. If everything was fine, we could sign the contract and proceed with the process.
On my way to the Lake Garden, I kept thinking that if this apartment had found a buyer just a little bit earlier, the Charlotte Jeweley wouldnât have had to rely on the RF Group Groupâs investment.
Unfortunately, there were no âifs.â
However, having a big tree to lean on has its pros and cons.
Arriving at the Lake Garden, I was surprised to see the âbuyerâ standing next to the agent. âMr. Brown, itâs you⦠youâre interested in this apartment?â
âYes, itâs me.â
lan seemed completely unsurprised and very relaxed. âMs. Wilson, we meet again.â
I smiled, âWhat a coincidence. You funded me at noon, and now youâre buying my apartment in the afternoon. It seems youâre quite good for my fortune?â
âWell, I hope I can boost the Charlotte Jeweleyâs prospects too. I have very high hopes for it,â lan replied halfâjokingly.
I chuckled slightly and got back to the point. âAre you sure you want to buy this apartment?â
âIndeed.â lan looked around and said regretfully, âThis apartment still looks new, and the decoration is quite exquisite, showing a lot of thought. Why would you want to sell it?â
âGiven by my exâhusband,â I answered straightforwardly and candidly. âIt has no meaning if I keep it. Itâs better to convert it into cash.â
When in love, even a single strand of the other personâs hair would hold special significance.
When apart, even a strand of their hair on the floor could be an additional annoyance, let alone such a large apartment.
It constantly reminds me of how foolish and ridiculous I used to be.
lan cocked his brows. âExâhusband? Did he cheat on you?â
âSomething like that,â I answered casually.
The relationship between Ryan and me was too complicated. It wasnât just about infidelity. It was far more complex. But with lan, our relationship was purely professional, so there was no need for deep

discussions.
He sighed and oddly defended men. âPerhaps, some things are just necessary means to an end.â

I almost laughed. âMr. Brown, are you going to say he just made a common mistake that all men would make?â
âNo, of course not.â lan awkwardly changed the subject. âIâm sure I want this apartment. Letâs sign the contract!â
âAlright.â
After signing the contract, I took one last look at the apartment where I had invested so much effort in decorating before leaving.
It was quite good that both Ryan and the apartment were cleanly concluded today.
From now on,.it was a new life!
However, while I was thinking this way, not everyone shared the same thoughts.
On the day we officially moved to the office, even before I had settled in, Jane rushed over from another office.
âOh my God!!â
She placed a tablet in front of me, extremely excited. âLook, are we starting to hit a lucky streak? Our store just went live today, and weâve already received a big order!â
I glanced at it, somewhat surprised. âIs it actually a custom order?â
âYes, she placed the order and contacted me immediately, saying she wants a custom engagement dress. Sheâll come over this afternoon for a fitting.â
Hearing this, I felt something was off.
Our custom orders werenât cheap, and the online store only listed design prices. Additional costs for fabrics and other requirements were charged later.
The total price was quite high.
Our newly launched, relatively unknown store hadnât started any promotions yet. Who would be willing to place a custom order with us so quickly?
