Chapter 128
The development of events unfolded exactly as expected.
As soon as I left the Frost Group, this matter began to ferment within the industry circles.
I asked Jack, and he confirmed that it was spread by Jessicaâs side.
The Deputy Director of the Frost Group accused of plagiarism.
Most people were easily led, after all, she was indeed the first to submit the design draft.
Everyone abhorred such things, and the insults hurled at me were incredibly harsh.
âPlagiarist, unworthy to be in this field, get out of the design world!â
âStealing someone elseâs hard work, may your whole family die.â
âHow shameless, daring to plagiarize within the same company, what kind of person is this Charlotte?â
Just as I was about to turn off my phone, the official MS blog posted an announcement, roughly stating that tomorrow both Jessica and I would be summoned to the MS Group headquarters to settle the matter of plagiarism, and inviting colleagues to witness the spectacle.
The next day, I woke up early, freshened up, applied a delicate makeup, and stepped out in high heels.
Upon arrival, there were already quite a few onlookers gathered at the MS headquarters entrance, including Jack, who was waiting for me.
I walked over with my bag and greeted him with a smile, âJack.â
His voice was gentle, âAre you prepared?â
âYep!â I smiled back, ready to walk towards the elevator with him, when a commotion erupted at the entrance.
Instinctively, I turned around. A gleaming Bentley pulled up at the entrance, and the driver opened the door for Jessica, dressed in a white dress!
How deep must their relationship be for him to personally send her in a car.
âCharlotte?â
Jack called me softly as I seemed lost in thought.
I suppressed my complicated emotions and forced a smile, âMm, letâs go upstairs first.â
Charlotte.â
In front of everyone, Jessica suddenly called out to me, looking quite puzzled, âYou used to have a talent for design yourself, why did you have to copy mine?â
I smirked coldly, âWho copied whom is yet to be known.â
âYouâve done it, why not admit itâ¦â
Jessica empathetically said, âWe donât need to make a scene like this. Just apologize to me and Ryan,

and we wonât pursue this further.â
âJessica, do you think that in a plagiarism case, as long as you submit the design draft first, the other party has no way out?â
She was instantly speechless, âWhat nonsense are you talking about?â
âYou know full well what Iâm talking about.â
I ignored her and went upstairs with Jack.
The meeting was set in a large conference room, with many colleagues present. Even if not for the spectacle, it was a good opportunity to network with MS.
For designers aspiring to climb higher, few would miss such a chance.
Before entering, I heard someone making a conclusive statement.
âDid you see what car Jessica arrived in? Thatâs one of the the Frost Group CEOâs cars!â
âI heard from a friend at the Frost Group, sheâs the CEOâs hidden wife?â
âEight or nine out of ten! According to me, she must be the one who was plagiarized. Why would the presidentâs wife bother to plagiarize something like this?â
âWhoâs to say? Plus, she used to be the director of the design department, her skills must be stronger than the vice directorâs!â
Ryan didnât come, but he indirectly supported Jessica
I donât know if this was Jessicaâs request or his own initiative.
Jack suddenly strode in, with a somewhat imposing aura. Though his voice was slightly cold, everyone suddenly fell silent, as if they feared him,
âMr. Renolds!â
âMr. Renolds, Iâve heard so much about you!â
And then, everyone eagerly began to flatter him.
In the past few years, Jack and I hadnât interacted much at work. Though I knew he was a formidable force in the design industry, this was the first time I had witnessed his status firsthand.
Unexpectedly, instead of immediately responding, he turned his head to look at me, âLet me introduce you all. This is my mentorâs outstanding student and my junior, Charlotte.â
1 was suddenly stunned, utterly surprised.
Was he⦠standing up for me?
I was already grateful that he trusted I hadnât plagiarized. I never expected him to openly defend me like
this.
As the CEO of the MS Group, this introduction was enough to show his stance. For a moment, everyoneâs
gaze towards me became much more restrained.
