Late night poems hit different
lonely nights spent in a hollow room
one time he saw a silhouette, a loom
taking a step forward he decided to walk
never reaching the shadow, he was stuck in a loop
but giving up was not an option even though he'd spent years chasing
hungry for the freedom, he walked for hours daily
just enough to get his hands on the figure so he could use him for escape
he didn't want to beg nor ask for help, he wanted to be free of his pain
finally the day came when he reached the silhouette
his hands trembled as he extended them to quench
his thirst of years, he wanted nothing but revenge
for he was thrown in the pit, hurt; he was innocent
but the trembling hands passed right through the outline
he wanted to kill, end the vile
for he was innocent, the silhouette was a vice
he took a step
once
twice
then thrice
for him to understand that it himself in the silhouette's disguise
