It's been two months since I've been at this school. I've learned French quite fast probably because I have to use it everyday. I still have a lot to learn though.
It was currently eleven at night, and Edwin and I were still having our French lesson. He gave me a task sheet and told me to try and communicate with me using that topic.
'Ask how to get to the mall.' Ok, easy enough.
"Excusez-moi, Pouvez-vous me dire où se trouve le centre commercial est?" (Excuse me, can you tell me where the mall is?)
"Comment comptez-vous y arriver? En bus ou à pied?" (Sure how do you plan to get there? Bus or walking?)
I blanked for a second, going through everything in my brain. It's really hard to try to cramp everything in there in the span of two months.
"Ummm... bus." I scratched the back of my head.
"Elaborate more, say it in a sentence." Why though? Why say it in a sentence if In the real world I wouldn't really need to.
"J'ai l'intention de voyager en bus." Edwin nodded in approval of my sentence, and I mentally patted myself on the back. I deserve a cookie.
"Ok, it's past the time you're suppose to be in your room. Way past the time, and neither of us want to get in trouble do we?" I shook my head. I've already gotten in trouble a lot so far. Mostly for stupid reasons like pronouncing a word wrong, or sitting at the dinner table wrong.
Edwin and I slowly creeped back to my room. I waved goodbye to him and opened my door. It creaked a little bit yet it seemed like the loudest sound ever in this moment.
I bit my lips and walked inside, shutting the door behind me. Okkkk, made it without anyone knowing!
"What you doing new kid?" I heard one of my roommates voice say in broken English.
"Je suis allé boire de l'eau." (I went to go drink some water). I laid down on my bed, hoping he would just drop it and leave me alone.
"Mensonge." (Lie)
I shook my head, even though he probably couldn't see me in the dark.
I heard footsteps get up and the light turned on. I groaned, just wanting to go to sleep.
My other roommate just sat there, not talking. He didn't talk much at all, but he sure was mean. He would shove or push, and his eyes said it all without him even speaking.
(They're talking in French, I just don't want to keep switching languages)
"Whats in it for me if I don't tell?" Umm, I don't know.
"Anything?" He smirked and walked towards me.
"Even your virginity?" He pushed me back on the bed, and held me down by my wrists.
I tried to fight him off me but he was too strong. I just kept shaking my head no, and repeating the words something else.
He got off me, laughing. He went and sat back down on his bed. The other guy was still just watching us.
"I-I'll give you one on one English lessons?" He shook his head.
"Then what do you want?" He stalked towards me, making me flinch back with every step he took.
"I want you to be my servant. You do anything I say. If I want you to do my homework? You do my homework. If I want you to get me food? You get me food. Understand?" No I will not! I don't want to do that, I have more self pride than that...
"No." He shrugged.
"Fine I'll just tell the headmistress about what you're doing. I know Edwin is helping you do whatever you Two are doing. He for sure will get fired." What's wrong with this person? What have I ever done to him? I can't let Edwin get fired because of me though.
"Fine... I'll do it." I looked down, twiddling my fingers.
"Oh good! Now, get some sleep servant. We have a long day ahead of us." He walked over and shut the light off, laughing to himself than laying back down in his bed.
I hesitantly laid down too, eventually falling asleep.
"Baby boy!" I was sitting on the ground in daddies and i's room, playing with my toys.
"Yes daddy?" I got up and hugged him when he walked in.
"I got something for you." I smiled and looked up at him. He squeezed my cheek and cooed, telling me how cute I was in my onesie.
"Tell me what the surprise is daddy!" He chuckled and ruffled my hair.
"He pulled two tickets out of his pocket, handing them to me." I looked down at them, trying to read them in little space.
"France?" I looked up at him and daddy was replaced with my mother, grinning evilly at me.
"Yup, you're going to change! You are not fit to be in this family!" I shook my head, crying. I want daddy, I want daddy, I want daddy.
I threw the tickets on the ground, falling back, and scooting as far away from them as I could.
I scooted and ran into someone. I looked behind me and saw the headmistress. She smiled just like my mother.
"THEODORE, SIT UP STRAIGHT! ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE!"
"ALDER!"
"ADLER"
"ALDER"
Her voice started to fade and everything turned white. I looked around again. I was in an all white Abyss. I got up and started walking.
"Baby boy!" I turned around and saw daddy. I smiled and started to run after him, but he just kept getting farther away.
I don't understand why though, he isn't moving. I kept on running and running but I couldn't get to him. Tears were streaming down my face and evaporating as soon as they fell into the air.
Daddy's face turned to a frown. I kept on running though, just wanting to hug him again.
"You're a disappointment. I don't want you, go away. You're a burden." Daddy's mouth didn't open but it was his voice saying those things.
"You don't mean that daddy? You don't mean that right! You don't mean that?"
0/0
"You don't mean that... you don't mean that daddy! You don't!" I felt myself being shaken awake. I opened my eyes to Edwin looking at me worried. I sat up and swiped my hair out of my face.
(Talking in English)
"Edwin? What are you doing here?" He smiled sadly at me.
"You're roommates called for me, they said you were being too loud." I looked behind Edwin to see both of my roommates frowning.
"S-Sorry.. I was just having a bad dream." Edwin nodded his head.
"You should get ready.. breakfast is starting soon." I nodded my head and got up, grabbing my uniform and hair gel, walking to the bathroom.
I looked in the mirror. I had dark circles under my eyes and the whites of my eyes were red from crying so much. Tear streaks stained my face and my throat hurt.
I sighed thinking about the dream. What if daddy isn't looking for me? What if he doesn't care? He probably doesn't right? I mean I'm the one that left in the first place...
I stood there thinking until I heard the breakfast bell. Shoot.
I ran into the bathroom stall, changing. After I was done I ran out of the bathroom. I didn't realise I forgot to gel my hair until I was already in the breakfast room and everyone was staring at me.
I awkwardly walked to my seat. Trying to avoid the disapproving glares. I tried to straighten up my uniform on the seemingly long walk of shame.
When I sat down, I realised that there was no food for me. I heard chuckling and saw other students laughing at me.
I looked down, wanting to cry but I couldn't give them that satisfaction. I sat like that until breakfast was over.
"Ok class, go to first hour. Alder, stay with me." I heard the headmistress say.
I walked over to her awkwardly smiling.
"Qui Directice?" (Yes mistress?)
"Qu'est il arrivé à tes cheveux?" (What's wrong with your hair?)
"désolé." (Sorry)
I looked down and we were in silence until I felt her take my arm and pain on my knuckles. I let out a gasp and pulled my hand away. She hit me, with a ruler... is she allowed to do that?
She must've read the look of surprise in my face because she immediately spoke up.
"Vous êtes dans mon école, je peux faire n'importe quoi je veux jeune homme aucun rendez vos cheveux gel." (You are in my school, I can do anything I want to now go gel your hair)
I nodded my head and quickly scurried away. I left my gel in the bathroom I believe.
I got to the bathroom and saw that my gel was there. I quickly grabbed a glob of the sticky disgustingness that makes your hair feel stiff as heck, and ran it through my hair.
I then quickly ran to bible study. I had to get there before the bell rang or I would get in even more trouble than I already am.
I ran in right when the bell rang and I kinda sorta fist pumped the air a bit because I was so proud of myself.
Everyone started laughing at me but quickly stopped when the teacher raised his voice.
"Prendre place" (Take a seat) I quickly sat down, opening the bible that was on my desk. Pretending to listen.
