Chapter thirty one

Lucas's POV

The girls were still a little disappointed that their swim day got interrupted they didn't say anything but I knew they were . And they were holding me accountable for it by giving me cold shoulders .

I scoot closer to Heaven on the couch as she watch some cartoons but she quickly went to the other end of the couch crossing her stubby arms and huffed . She so cute .

" Baby girl you still mad at me ? " I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear " yes ! " She exclaimed throwing her hands up my eyes widened at her action .

" You said we could swim and then you said no " she said crossing her arms . I knew it.

" I'm sorry piccola something came up that day " I explained to her when she didn't say anything I started to tickle her and she lets out the cutest giggle "You still mad at me " I ask still tickling her " if you answer me I'll stop" " No daddy I'm not mad anymore " she laughed taking a cushion and hiding herself . I chuckled and stopped . I then remembered what's is coming up and called the girls .

Angel and  Halo came downstairs and Angel sat next to me looking beautiful like always " what do you want to talk about ?  " she asked she nudged my arm when she I didn't respond  snapping me out of my daydream " hmm?" I asked her dumbly . She smiled and brushed my hair from my forehead  " what did you called us for ? " she asked again . Right the announcement .

" Halo's birthday is coming up and I thought it would be a good idea to take you on vacation as an early birthday gift " I said looking at my daughter " Really dad  ? " She asked exitingly I nod "  Of course . You can choose anywhere you'd like to go and hopefully it can make up for the swim day interrupted " " I'll love that  , but I want you guys to surprise me and choose  " she looked at us expentdly . " Go get the basket "

Halo came back with a basket the three of us wrote down -- well except for Heaven because she drew  -- the places we can spend Halo's birthday at . Halo shuffled the papers and pulled out a piece of paper and read " Zanzibar Tanzania ! " She read out loud .

" Who wrote this ?" Halo asked " I did " Angel said with pride " I haven't been there before yet , but I think you would love it  there hun  " she smiled sweetly at Halo . Halo slowly nodded

" Zanzibar we go "

Angel's POV

Once landed in Zanzibar the hot air instantly hit us ." it's  so hot here " Heaven whined and wave her stubby hand over her face . I unbuttoned her long sleeve shirt that she wore due to the chilly weather back in Rome and used a fan to cool her off  " Don't worry it will get cooler "

We exited the private sector of the airport and saw a black man dressed in a black suit held up a sign that said ' Signore Armani ' Lucas walked to him and shook his hand " Michael good to see "

"Good to see you too Signore . Welcome to Zanzibar "

Michael directed us to a black jeep wrangler and loaded our stuff in we settled in the girls and I at the back and Lucas at the passenger seat then pulled out . I took this time to admire the view . It is breathtaking .We passed palm trees after palmed trees with the light blue sky which gave off the an image of paradise .

After few minutes we pulled at the resort that we will be staying for the next few days . It was a private beach area and displayed a sun terrace and the view of the sea

" Whoah " I said as I stand on the terrace lookin at the sea " yeah " Lucas wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek " I see why you wanted us to come here , it's beautiful  "

" whoa"  Halo said as she reached the end of the terrace " Do you like it honey ? " I asked her she shrugged " it's alright "

Ssince we arrived at ten we decided to take a nap first to rest two hours later we were in the truck at the safari .

" What animal are you excited to see first ? " I asked I looked down at Heaven as she held my hand " A lion " she exclaimed exitingly . " Never seen one before ? " I asked her " she had " Halo suddenly stated " but she was just a baby though "

" Then she will see again , and hopefully this time she will still remember it "  I turned to Halo  " what about you Halo ? Which animal do want to see ?" She shrugged " A giraffe " I smile " Really ? That's what I want to see too "  I said genuily.  Halo only shrugged discouraging me .

We started with the monkeys , hippos then we finally arrived to the giraffes  . I eagerly pulled Lucas to them he chuckled ' slow down , baby "  The guide told us about the giraffes his age , height and the food they eat " Do you want to feed one of them ?" The guide asked me " of course ! "

He handed me some leaves and guide me to one of them " Babe, take a picture" I whispered to Lucas he chuckled " sure " I extended my arm and let the giraffe eat from it . I squealed internally . It was Halo's turn Heaven was too afraid to touch  .

" No I don't want to touch it " she stubbornly said burying her face in my neck " he won't bite you honey " I reassured her " no " she said firmly . So now it was Halo's turn I watched her as she slowly extend her arm and let the giraffe eat from it she looked graceful doing it . I took few candid photos of her in the camera I brought .

" Baby it's your turn " I told him . He watched the giraffe's  purple tongue move in horror " no thanks "

We later moved to the lions section where Heaven eagerly approached the cage wanting to feed them for them she wasn't scared to feed .

The next day we went to the Mnemba island where the daulphins were located . I wore a pretty purple floral two piece swimsuit and matched with the girls light blue floral one piece swimsuit . Lucas wore a dark blue trunks and we were all matching .

We swam the whole afternoon with the daulphins . The instructor was there the whole time to guide us . The girls where happy to be with them , they where gently while caressing them and the daulphins were loving it , but the daulphins  liked Lucas more.

" Why is this one coming towards me ?" Lucas asked alarmed . When he saw it was swimming closer , he started to panick " Angel called him to you " he start to swim backwards in panick " Go away ! Angel ! "

We all started laughing including the instructors and one thing I've learned so far in this trip is that Lucas was scared of animals .

On the third day we decided swim on the private beach in our resort . My cornrows had been so convient through all the swimming so I only took care of my swimsuit . I wore a two piece leopard print swimsuits and matched with the zebra stripes pattern one piece . It was like a cute jungle theme .

" I want to look like you Angel " Heaven said pointing at my hair " you want some cornrows ? " She nod eagerly " yes please " " Alright . It might hurt a little though " I part her hair into two and braided two cornrows one on each side of her head I tried my best to not braid too hard " I'm done " I announced once done . She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled the gave me a big kiss on my cheek " Thank you !". She said her eyes glimmering . I smile " you're welcome "

I catch Halo's longing stare " Do you want some too ?" I asked her softly worried that she might get mad " yes please " she answered softly . I look at her suprise taken aback by her response . I let her sit then started to brush her hair she was watching me through the mirror the Whole time after a while her eyes started to water .

" What's the matter ? " I asked worryingly she shook her head " not many people takes care of my hair like this " she said avoiding my eyes " is it bad ? " No " she whispered " it just what I need " my eyes softened at her words . That might just been the nicest thing she had ever said to me . I continued to brush then braided four cornrows once done we all go down to the private beach.

" Wow . You girls look gorgeous " Lucas said complimenting their hair smiling at them " And you , " he grabbed my arm and spin me around " Alluring " he softly whispered  .

Lucas and I applied sunscreen on the girls then we swam for the whole afternoon . We built sandcastles and played in the sea around around six we decided to put the girls bed " Goodnight girls" Lucas kissed  both of their foreheads . Halo being already half asleep I kissed her head then went to Heaven " Goodnight baby "

" Night mommy "

I blinked looking at her then looked at Lucas who was just as suprise as me " mommy ?" I whispered to myself  . Heaven's eyes opened and stared at me " yes , would you like to be my mommy ? " She asked looking up at me my eyes start to water . I look at Lucas for his reaction and he smiled softly at me nodding " I would love to " I smiled at her she beamed so bright that all kinds of sleepiness disappeared .

I didn't know I was doing this whole thing right,  it was all new to me  and everything  I did was based on my love for them ,  and now I'm considered as mum to one .

OMG ! Heaven called Angel mommy ! Roll the credits !

Well it's Heaven and I'm not surprised . she had taken a liking on Angel since the very beginning so it was obvious that she will call her first and writing this made me tear up .
