Chapter Twenty

Angel's POV

" Welcome back ." Lucas says as I step out of the car . "Thank you" I say slightly smiling  . I look around the open space and the building and sighs .

I can't believe this is going to be my new home . I will not see my dad nor will I see Rebecca  everyday and that changes my mood quickly .

Lucas starts to lead the way to the house . The pathway is filled with roses and tulips on both sides until the house comes to view , a three storey house made with bricks  and vines crawling on the wall . On the left  are water fountains shaped like  angels two with halos and one angel sitting on something shaped like a cloud . Each angels pouring out water from their mouth.

" I got it personalized" I snap  out of my trance " what ?" I ask mindlessly still amazed by the details of the angels . " I got it personalized " Lucas repeats himself.

" See, " he points to the fountains . " They are all angels , just like you " he says , looking at me in the eyes . My heart beat speed up . Lucas breaks eye contact , blushing . I smile .

" I did so you could feel more at home you know since you will be living here away from your Father and I know how much he means to you so I thought this might help. " He says sheepishly .

I open my mouth to speak but he cuts me off .

" I also added something for the girls ; An Halo and Heaven , the clouds are the Heavens ." He finish explaining .

" And where are you in all that ? " I ask joking he smirks

" I'm the god " I roll my eyes so cocky .

" This is amazing how ..."

" I can't believe you went through all that effort just to make me feel at home . I don't know how to thank you for all this ." I say , truly grateful .

I look at him still suprise .  I don't know if he realises how much it means to me , this is  the same gift that was given to my mother only bigger . The gift that gave her hope when she didn't have any at some point in her life and this gives me a little hope too that things might go back to how it was and maybe ... we will stop running away too .

" You can always give me a thank you  thank you kiss . " he shrugs smiling . I roll my eyes and reach out to him .

I didn't realised how much I missed kissing him until his lips press against mine. His pink lips feels soft as always press against mine as his arms finds its familiar place around my waist .

After kissing him for what feels like forever I pull away breathless Lucas follows my lips I giggle " Later " I say stepping out of his hold . " I will hold on to your words ."

Lucas gives me a house tour , a house with seven bedrooms with bathrooms inside each rooms , two bathrooms in its own, a large living room, kitchen ; movie room , a game room and a mini gjim not to forget I big pool in the back yard and a children's pool too.

Is this all necessary ?

With rich people everything is possible .

After the house tour we stop infront a bedroom which is across from his .

" Here are your keys , there is a bathroom in your bedroom but I lost the keys " Lucas says embarrass  , I  chuckle .

" So , you can use this one next to my bedroom until I have another one made ."

" Alright . Are the girls still asleep ?" I ask . Since I moved in here they have been asleep for four hours. He nods " they have been asleep since I picked them up from my parents house , whatever they feed my daughters put them into deep sleep . "

The next morning I decided to start my day early since I have a lot to unpack plus , it will be rude to wake up late in a house I'm being accommodated in  so I wake up did my morning prayer and got out everything I need to shower with from my bag .

After thirty minutes of my morning routine , I wrap my white fluffy bathrobe around my body wore my flip flops then go out. As I am thinking of what outfit to wear , I bump into a hard chest I almost tripp and fall but arms steady my hips "  facile lì dolcezzae  " he says a thing in Italian that I don't understand ." Morning " I say lowly too caught up with the view infront of me . Pinks lips are in my point of view and the memory of yesterday's kiss flash back to me . A cologne so fine and cris-

" Earth to Angel . " I snap out of my daydream to see Lucas looking at me amused I blush and get out of his hold .

" What are you thinking about ?" He asks mirth filling his eyes . " N-nothing " I clear  my throat then I take a look at his attire .

" Where are you going ?" I ask changing the subject . " To work ." I frown  " this early ? It's not even seven yet " he shrugs " I have to get some work done before work starts .  I nod." I can make you breakfast before you go . Just let me change first , " I propose , moving back to my bedroom until he stops me . " No, I don't have time for this . " Lucas declines at my proposal ." Oh." I mumble.

I don't why but it makes feel sad. It may have shown on my face because he quickly adds " But , tomorrow I can stay since my schedule shows I won't have that much of work . " Those words quickly lightens up my mood , I smile brightly .

" Alright . I better let you go before I delay your day , see you later ." He nods " later ."

His eyes darts on my face then my body then back to mine , he smiles then walks away . I then realise that I am still  wearing my bathrobe reaching my mid thigh . I walk back to my room flustered.

I get dress in a white sweetheart neckline dress  with sandals . I undo my twist from last night add some gel and brush it through then apply lipbalm on my lips .

I decided to check on the girls . I go to Heaven's room to see her rolling on her bed . " You are one strange girl " I say amused. " Miss Rweed !" She shriek running towards me I catch her when she jumps on me . " I miss you " she mumbles , her head buried in my neck. " You saw me on Friday ." Today is Sunday .  I start to pat her butt . " I still missed you "

My heart warms up at her words . " That feels good . " She says refering to my patting  , I laugh .

A maid comes and tell me it's time to give Heaven a bath i give Heaven to her and she whines and cries for me . I kiss her on her cheek then go to check on Halo .

I see Halo on her bed curl up on her side sweating . " What is the matter ?" I ask when I reach her " I don't think I feel well " I touch her head and she feels hot . " You are burning up . Why don't you bath first then we will find a solution , yeah ? Cold water will reduce the heat . "

I help her in the bathroom as she does what she has to do then fill the bathtub with water " is it alright ?" I ask her " yes it's fine " I wait outside the door then call Lucas .

" Hey ," he answers after the second ring " Hi . Heaven is having a fever has been burning up all morning , what can I give her to ease it ? " I ask him .

" Don't worry about it , the maids knows what to do and if it gets worse I will call for a doctor for now they can take care of it ." He says typing something away .

" Alright , I'm going now " I mumble .

I feel slightly embarrass rushing to call Lucas while his workers , who knows what to do in cases like this are here and can help .

I sigh and inform the lady who helped Heaven out earlier then went back to unpack .

My room is White with few furniture's black like the black coffee table in the middle of the room , black couch , nightstands . There is a full body mirror door when pulled it's a  big walk-in closet  .  White lights bounce off the white walls , mirrors after mirrors lines up next to each other on one wall the rest are for closets and shelves.

The rest of my day is me being occupied with unpacking and occasionally checking in on the girls which is once again not necessary but I do it nonetheless .

When the sun takes a peek through my curtains as it rise , I wake up and do my usual routine this time I don't bump into Lucas , unfortunately .

Still holding on to yesterday's promise I quickly get dressed into then did a light make up with gloss and try doing a slick back tried my hair is so natural that doing slick back is impossible . I use the hairdryer combed through it  then finally manage to pull it back , gel and did my baby hair .

Before going out I check my self on the full mirror I stop when I realise I dressed all up just to do breakfast for Lucas . It might not mean as much  to him as it does to me but here i am , dressed up for breakfast at home .

Yikes .

what have I become ?

A maid showed me where everything is then I get to work . I do the dish my mother used to do specially   for me when I was younger spaghetti , eggs and some sausages . She used to mix them all up and make a sort of spaghetti omelette it seems weird but its taste is amazing .  She was a bit of a foodie so whatever food she thinks will go well together she combines them .

I did crepes too , buns serve with cheese and sausages . milk and coffee are serve too quite everything you can think of to eat with these .

The girls come in first in the dinning room . " What is the occassion ?" Halo asks , suprise eying  at every food on the table . " Just wanted to make something special for you guys , like breakfast ." I say , not saying the part that this breakfast is especially for Lucas .

" That is so nice of you !" Heaven exclaims , running to hugg me but only hugging my legs . " It is . " I booming deep voice echoes through the vaste dinning room I see Lucas dress in a grey suit .

" Lucas ," I say somehow breathless ." please take a seat ." Once they all seated I help Heaven with her plate and mine .

" Thank you for this , Angel . This is really good . " Lucas compliments after he has taken a bite . " thank you , I can do it again , anytime you want . " I say back  , smiling  .

" Ooo ! What is this ? " Heaven says pointing at my spaghetti  dish . " This is spaghetti with eggs , a special dish my mum used to make for me . "  I said smiling . Heaven turns to her dad excitingly . " Can I have some Dada ?!"  " Of course . I am taking some too ." my smile widens " let me help " I help them put the food on their plates . " Want some Halo ?" I ask her

" What?" " Want some ?" I repeat myself . She scoffs , I look back at her stunned . " What now ? You want to act like we are a family now ? Trying to get us to like you by making us breakfast ?" Lucas loudly drops his utensils taken aback by her words . " Halo . " Lucad says in a deep warning tone .

" No , dad one of us has to speak . It's always like this , each times a Lady comes to you  they act like they like us but they don't . All they do is make you upset and sad and  always wanting something from you in the end  . I don't want it to happen again that is why you need to do something about it ."Halo says , throwing an accusing glare at me . Still suprise at her sudden outburst I stare right back at her .

" That's enough . " Lucas says slightly raising his tone . " May that be the last time to talk to her this way . She is way older than you and you talk to her as if she's some child your age she was kind enough to cook some breakfast for us and you should be thankful for that , instead of accusing her of the things she didn't even think about .

" You should have some respect , the  same respect you have for every adults that comes to our home, she is not an exception . And for the Ladies that comes to our home , that is not your business . I'm glad you care about my feelings but all those people are none of your business so apologize to Miss Reed for being so disrespectful ."

Halo mumbles words avoiding eye contact . " we can't hear you " Lucas says still with a stern voice . " I'm sorry  , Miss Reed . " She finally says it looking at me . All I do is nod still feeling suprise , disrespected and hurt all at once . " You are  also grounded . Go to your room until further notice . "

Halo turns and walk out of the dining room , aggressively wiping her tears as she cries silently . Lucas turns to me with shame written all over his face " I am sorry for that I don't know where all that came from .  " He sighs , tired all of a sudden something tells me it's not the firsttime Halo acts like this .  "

" Sometimes I wonder where I went wrong and I can now see my lack of attention in these types of behaviour ." I nod ." You are doing your best , kids get out of hands sometimes you just need to act on it , on it first signs ."

He nods then looks at his watch " I better get going if I want to arrive early . Thank you for the breakfast , I really enjoyed the spaghetti hope you do it again ? " He asks , looking hopefully .

I lightly laugh trying to lift up the mood  " sure " he smiles " see you later " then walks out of the dinning room .

" Thank you for the food Miss Reed " A tiny voice suddenly speak I turn around to see Heaven still seated in her sit , looking up at me with her big blue eyes  . I start to feel bad for her she was here to witness this fight . She must be feeling so out of place .

I smile at this little cute girl . "You are welcome sweetheart . "

Hi everyone !

How are you all doing ?

I finished my exams last week after two weeks of exams I am finally done with it . I will try my best to update as much as possible , sorry for the late update .

How did y'all find this chapter ? Halo is really getting out of hand with her attitude. What should be her punishment ?

The little girl as reasons to be all guards up around Angel so you should not hate her that much 😉

And I finally found a flaw for Angel , she likes to mind people's business always want to be included in other people's business lol , she is not perfect .
